Abstract

The “Sekolah Penggerak” Program is a government effort to realize the vision of sovereign, independent, and individual Indonesian education through the creation of “Pelajar Pancasila”. This study aims to describe and analyze the principal's strategy in implementing the “Sekolah Penggerak” program at SMP Negeri 3 Kayuagung. Data collection used interviews, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed using interactive model analysis techniques from Miles and Huberman. The results of this study show the principal's strategy in implementing the “Sekolah Penggerak” program, namely (1) strengthening human resources, (2) learning management based on a differentiated learning approach, (3) providing supporting facilities and infrastructure for the “Sekolah Penggerak” program, (4) financing by optimizing financing sources from school operational assistance funds and financing from stakeholders, (5) the process of digitizing schools such as digitizing teaching materials, teacher teaching administration, increasing school internet capacity and speed, and providing computer devices for the learning process, and (6) stakeholder involvement in program preparation, implementation and supervision of this program.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of strategic management principles in improving the quality of education in junior high schools. The background of the study is the problem of the quality of education in several junior high schools is still relatively low due to minimal institutional management. The location of this study was a junior high school in South OKU Regency. The informants of this study were the head of the school and the vice head of curriculum. The research method used was a qualitative method. Data were collected using interview and documentation techniques. Data analysis used qualitative analysis. The results of the study showed that the principles of strategic management had been applied to the school, but had not been carried out optimally. For example, the principle of planning had been applied well, but in its implementation it was more often not in accordance with the plan. In addition, there were plans that were prepared without using strategic principles so that the education process was only routine and learning evaluation focused on the cognitive domain. Of the three strategic principles, implementation and evaluation are the best strategic management principles applied, while the principle of compiling a strategic plan has not been optimally applied.

Abstract

A diverse array of information sources in multiple formats offers students avenues to satisfy their academic requirements. The objective of this study is to elucidate students' preferences in information retrieval, specifically contrasting the utilization of the internet and traditional books as primary references. The rapid advancement of technology has significantly shaped the methodologies by which students pursue information for both scholarly and non-scholarly objectives. This research adopts a quantitative framework via an online survey encompassing 82 students from a range of academic disciplines at Tidar University. The findings indicate that a predominant portion of respondents favors the internet due to its ease of access and the extensive range of information it provides. Conversely, a segment of students continues to depend on books, attributing to them a greater sense of credibility and a more comprehensive presentation of information. This observation signifies a noteworthy transition in information-seeking preferences, even as books retain their relevance within specific contexts. Consequently, this study advocates for initiatives aimed at enhancing students' competencies in selecting and critically appraising information, particularly from digital mediums.

Abstract

The use of electrical tools in skin care practices requires a proper understanding of their functions, working procedures, and correct usage steps. However, some students still face difficulties in operating and maintaining the tools due to the lack of practical written guidance. This study aims to evaluate the practicality of an e-book guide designed as a supplementary learning medium. The e-book contains comprehensive information on the use and maintenance of electrical tools, expected to help students understand the course material independently. The research used a descriptive quantitative method with a Likert scale questionnaire as the data collection tool. The participants were 43 third-semester students from the 2023 cohort. The assessment covered aspects such as clarity, content structure, ease of understanding, and usefulness. Results showed that the e-book is practical, with 8.6% rating it fairly practical, 51.6% practical, and 39.8% very practical. The guide is considered appropriate and should be improved based on student feedback.

Abstract

The deep learning instructional model, as proposed by Abdul Mu’ti, emphasizes mindful, meaningful, and enjoyable learning experiences. This approach not only encourages students to memorize but also to deeply understand and internalize knowledge, thereby enhancing critical thinking, independence, and active engagement in the learning process. This study aims to examine the implementation of the deep learning model in primary and secondary education in Indonesia through a literature review method. Based on an analysis of various academic sources and recent educational policies, it was found that this model holds significant potential for improving learning quality and fostering a more reflective and collaborative learning environment. However, its implementation still faces several challenges, including limited infrastructure, insufficient teacher training, and the dominance of traditional curricula that restrict learning flexibility. This article recommends strengthening teacher capacity through continuous professional development, providing adequate facilities and infrastructure, and developing policies that support the adoption of deep learning approaches. With the right support, deep learning can become a strategic educational approach to enhance the quality of education in Indonesia and to shape a generation that is adaptive and competitive in the global era.

Abstract

Empathetic communication plays a key role in building a strong therapeutic relationship between doctors and elderly patients. This study is a literature review that aims to evaluate the effectiveness of empathic language on the quality of therapeutic relationships in the context of geriatric services. Articles were selected through an identification and screening process using specific keywords in databases such as Sinta, Neliti, Garuda, and Google Scholar, with inclusion criteria that include studies in the last 10 years, in Indonesian or English, full - text, and are primary research. The results show that empathic communication through cognitive and affective empathy plays a significant role in increasing patient trust, adherence to treatment, and clinical and psychosocial outcomes, such as decreased anxiety and increased quality of life. Communication strategies include the use of simple language, personal attention, and consistent emotional engagement. Implementation barriers include high workload and a lack of training. Empathy training in medical curriculum, the development of patient-centered communication guidelines, and the holistic implementation of the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) are essential.
