Abstract

This research examines the inner conflict experienced by the character in the Anime “Summer Ghost”, the main character Tomoya Sugisaki, by Loundraw. The purpose of the research is to describe the form and inner conflict of Tomoya Sugisaki's character by using qualitative method. The theory used in this research, namely the theory of literary psychology proposed by Wellek and Warren and Psychoanalysis Theory according to Kurt Lewin. The results of this study show several forms of inner conflict experienced by Tomoya Sugisaki which include: approach-approach conflict, avoidance-avoidance conflict, and approach-avoidance conflict. One of the most prominent causes of inner conflict in Tomoya Sugisaki, which is very visible in the social relationships in the character's life, is the driving force due to the curiosity of the character about many things.

Abstract

This research focuses on politeness in speech acts through kotowaza (Japanese proverbs). The principle of politeness is needed for daily activities, especially in interacting with other people. Kotowaza is a tool used to convey sarcasm, warnings, warnings, notifications, advice, and even parables consisting of a series of beautiful words. Kotowaza is conveyed implicitly. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. Researchers limit kotowaza to animal elements in Doraemon no Kotowaza Jiten. The data collection technique was carried out using note-taking techniques. Meanwhile, the analysis was carried out using pragmatic studies by observing the principles of politeness according to Leech. Based on the results of the analysis, there are 15 dialogues with animal element kotowaza speech acts in Doraemon no Kotowaza Jiten. In this data, 10 dialogues have polite speech acts and 5 dialogues violate politeness principles. Politeness is important in communication. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the use of maxims in the context of speech acts.

Abstract

This research is titled "Post-Earthquake and Tsunami Conditions in Japan in Ehon". This research aims to understand the post-earthquake and tsunami conditions in Japan following the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami in 2011, as depicted in the ehon series "Kataritsugi Ohanashi Ehon 3-gatsu 11-nichi". Data collection was conducted using library research methods, observation techniques, and note-taking. The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis, and the presentation of data analysis used both formal and informal methods. The theories employed were the Sociology of Literature Theory and Charles Sanders Peirce's Semiotics Theory. The results obtained in this research indicate that the natural disaster events of the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami in 2011 in Japan are reflected in the collection of ehon "Kataritsugi Ohanashi Ehon 3-gatsu 11-nichi". Within the ehon collection, the earthquake and tsunami are depicted as causing significant losses, both in terms of loss of life and economic impact on Japan. Interestingly, the effects of the earthquake and tsunami narrated in the ehon are presented in a way that is not frightening and easily understandable by children, serving as an educational resource about earthquakes and tsunamis.

Abstract

The study aims to describe the reasons for seppuku as an honor given to the ronin in the story of the 47 Ronin. This research uses descriptive methods and a qualitative approach and uses reading and writing techniques to process data collected from excerpts from the story 47 Ronin written by John Allyn. Based on data findings, the seppuku carried out in this story was an honor given by the Shogun to the samurai because of their loyalty to their dead master even though the ronin had violated many existing rules. The Shogun granted this right because he felt that this was something that fulfilled his sense of justice. After seeing the struggle put up by the ronin and how sincerely they served their master, this moved the Shogun to give the ronin a respectful punishment. Also in the case of Lord Asano, the Shogun gave him the honor of seppuku considering Lord Asano's high rank and long service that had been passed down from his ancestors. This is all written in the story of the 47 Ronin explicitly and the author will discuss it in this research.

Abstract

Kalimat scrambling merupakan satu fenomena struktur bahasa Jepang yang jarang diajarkan kepada mahasiswa di tingkat bawah sampai menengah. Berdasarkan distribusi komponennya fungsi, kalimat ini dapat dicirikan dalam model tertentu. Kalimat S Scrambling misalnya menempatkan posisi frase verbanya di depan subjek, M Scrambling mengacak posisi awal kalimat menjadi posisi akhir dan sebaliknya. Sementara kalimat model L Scrambling mengacak komponen tertentu melintasi batasan klausa. Kalimat-kalimat ini menjadi objek Bsu (bahasa sumber) Jepang yang dialihkan ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Melalui angket data terjemahan scrambling di analisis berdasarkan struktur fungsi, kategori, dan, peran semantisnya. Didapati, bahwa ada kecenderungan responden mengalami kesulitan menerjemahkan kalimat L Scrambling dibanding model lainnya. Kalimat L Scrambling tidak mudah dikembalikan ke posisi baku kalimat bahasa Jepang sehingga mahasiswa menghadapi kesulitan melakukan terjemahan yang berterima. Kategori pengisi fungsi kalimat M dan S Srambling mendapat padanan Bsa Indonesia yang berfariasi. Misalnya ???????menjadi tiga atau dua komponen, unit translasi 'kakak perempuan' dan 'kakak perempuan saya' dengan kecenderugan pola 'y : a, y', b'. Struktur fungsi semua kalimat data terjemahan scrambling berubah dari fungsi scrambling 'Pelengkap-Subjek-Adjektiva', menjadi fungsi baku 'S-Pel-P'. Sebagian data memperlihatkan adanya struktur acak yang sangat kacau. Sehingga tanpa acuan tertentu, kalimat diterjemahkan dengan asal dan menghasilkan beberapa kalimat yang eror.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the representation of gaman in the character Kudou Chika from the anime Kono Oto Tomare. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research data is in the form of scenes and dialog performed by the character Kudou Chika as a data source. The data collection methods used are library study techniques and observation and note-taking. The theory used in this research is semiotic theory by John Fiske which describes television codes through three levels, namely reality, representation, and ideology. From the results of the research, the representation of gaman is depicted through three characters owned by Kudou Chika, including persistent, patient and diligent. In addition, there are ideology of egoism and cultural nationalism in the anime Kono Oto Tomare.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur pembentukan, makna leksikal dan makna idiomatikal pada idiom bahasa Jepang, beserta makna konotasi yang terdapat pada idiom dengan unsur hewan yang hidup di air. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah metode simak yang dilanjutkan dengan teknik catat. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah dari buku yang berjudul Kodansha’s Dictionary of Basic Japanese Idioms karya Garrison, dkk. tahun 2002. Data yang ditemukan dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode padan ekstralingual dan disajikan dengan metode informal. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori jenis makna menurut Chaer dan teori struktur pembentukan idiom menurut Akimoto. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat 20 idiom berbahasa Jepang dengan unsur hewan yang hidup di air. Berdasarkan idiom-idiom tersebut ditemukan 8 idiom kata kerja, 11 idiom kata benda, dan 1 idiom kata sifat. Semua idiom yang ditemukan memiliki memiliki makna idiomatikal dan beberapa makna konotasi dengan 11 idiom berkonotasi negatif, 5 idiom berkonotasi positif, dan 4 idiom berkonotasi netral.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menelusuri unsur-unsur kebudayaan era Taisho yang tersemat dalam anime Kimetsu no Yaiba. Peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif dan melakukan pengumpulan data dengan teknik simak dan tinjauan pustaka terhadap beberapa artikel jurnal terkait. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori unsur-unsur kebudayaan menurut C. Kluckhohn. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anime Kimetsu no Yaiba yang memiliki latar waktu pada era Taisho menunjukkan unsur-unsur kebudayaan menurut C. Kluckhohn yang terdiri dari sistem teknologi dan peralatan hidup, sistem mata pencaharian, kesenian, sistem religi, sistem kekerabatan dan organisasi sosial, sistem pengetahuan, serta sistem bahasa. Unsur-unsur tersebut ditampilkan di anime ini dalam berbagai cara, misalnya melalui objek, peralatan sehari-hari, tarian, tata kota, pekerjaan, hingga pakaian. Dengan adanya unsur-unsur ini, penonton dapat menonton anime Kimetsu no Yaiba sebagai hiburan sekaligus menggali dan memahami kekayaan warisan budaya Jepang pada era Taisho. This research is titled "Representation of Japanese Cultural Elements in the Taisho Era in the Anime Kimetsu no Yaiba" with the aim of exploring the cultural elements of the Taisho era embedded in the anime Kimetsu no Yaiba. The researcher employs a qualitative method and collects data through observation techniques and literature review of several related journal articles. The theory utilized in this research is the theory of cultural elements according to C. Kluckhohn. The findings indicate that the anime Kimetsu no Yaiba, set in the Taisho era, exhibits cultural elements according to C. Kluckhohn, which include the technological system and living equipment, livelihood system, arts, religious system, kinship system and social organization, knowledge system, and language system. These elements are portrayed in the anime in various ways, such as through objects, everyday equipment, dances, city layout, occupations, and clothing. With these elements, viewers can watch Kimetsu no Yaiba as entertainment while also exploring and understanding the richness of Japanese cultural heritage in the Taisho era.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan unsur intrinsik dan ekstrinsik yang terdapat dalam anime Hotaru no Haka serta mendeskripsikan nilai moral apa saja yang ada pada tokoh utama dalam anime Hotaru no Haka, yaitu Seita Yokokawa dan Setsuko Yokokawa dianalisis menggunakan dua teori nilai moral. Teori pertama, yaitu teori jenis-jenis nilai moral dalam karya sastra menurut Nurgiyantoro, kemudian teori kedua nilai moral dalam bushido menurut Nitobe. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik studi pustaka kualitatf dan dipadukan dengan teknik simak catat. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah dari tiga jenis nilai moral dalam karya sastra menurut Nurgiyantoro, terdapat dua nilai moral pada Seita Yokokawa dan juga dua nilai moral pada Setsuko Yokokawa, semuanya merupakan nilai moral hubungan manusia dengan dirinya sendiri dan hubungan manusia dengan sesama manusia. Sedangkan, dari tujuh jenis nilai moral dalam bushido menurut Nitobe, terdapat enam nilai moral pada Seita Yokokawa, yaitu nilai moral keberanian, rasa kemanusiaan, kesopanan, ketulusan hati, kehormatan, dan kesetiaan, serta lima nilai moral pada Setsuko Yokokawa, yaitu nilai moral rasa kemanusiaan, kesopanan, ketulusan hati, kehormatan, dan kesetiaan.

Abstract

This study discusses crossplay efforts in building the Bishoujo persona in M2F crossplayer as a form of fluid crossplay gender performativity referring to Judith Butler's theory. This research is a quasi-ethnographic research in Bandung which involves 3 research subjects taken using perposive sampling technique. Data were collected through field observations, social media and in-depth interviews. The results shows that the bishoujo persona was built by emphasizing the similarities with the characters shown in the crossplay. In the process of performing the persona, the three respondents tried their best to match their character through costumes and make-up. The beautiful bishoujo female persona which is more sexy and erotic clearly shown by two respondents. Besides that, it is not only sexy and beautiful, but the female fighter persona or female fighter character with sharper eyes and the ability to use a sword also appears in the bishoujo persona. While one respondent described the bishoujo persona as being more cheerful, with rounder eyes and a loving nature. This is in accordance with Butler's statement that gender identity appears to be seen as something fluid that can move and change in different contexts and times.
