Abstract

One ofe the sculpture that began to develop in some modern Hindu homes is the placement of the statue of the god Ganesha. The placement of the Ganesha idol is adjusted to the intent and purpose of Hindus in Bali. This also indirectly shows the variety and omnipotence of the god Ganesha. The trend of placing the statue of the god Ganesha and worshiping the god Ganesha in Bali further adds to the lively Hindu religious practices in Bali. Then the statue of Ganesha is not feasible to be placed in the house because it is a manifestation of Shiva, the main deity in Hindu mythology of Hinduism, the god Ganesha is a god who has a holy nature. Whereas in the Balinese Hindu school based on Buddhist Shiva which is manifested in three forces called Tri Sakti or Tri Murti, and in practice it is thick with Bhairawa rulers who already have standardized rules and are hereditary in Bali. Because Hinduism in Bali breathes Shiva Bhairawa, namely worship of god (Shiva God) in the form of his magic that is Dewi Uma or Goddess Durga.

Abstract

Sex is a part of life, and even becomes an important part of survival, so that sex is used as a symbol of the cosmos, apart from that, sex is also divided into two, first, the need for procreation, and second, for recreational needs, this is where the problem is when sex it is only used as a recreational need, for the sake of pleasure alone, and to indulge in excessive lust for lack of proper knowledge of sex itself. So, Mahanirwana Tantra is present as a middle way to provide metanarations, that sex is considered to be very extraordinary, more than just sexual intercourse or lust, but a union of energies from two different universal elements, purusha and prakerti. The view of sex in mahanirvana tantra is to be able to provide truth and straighten out general views on the narrative of sex itself, as well as the correct view of the real sexual relationship. Tantra connects sex with God to see the primal origin of humans, those who do not know their origins certainly do not know the way back, the existence of the phallus yoni symbol, or naked holy statues in intercourse is not pornographic, but to invite us to understand our origins. The origin of mankind is still an unfinished debate, all just hypotheses. As a religious person, one should believe that the true origin of life is not from material intercourse, even though the visible process is material.

Abstract

The problem of plastic waste, lately continues to be a concern by the government of Tangkas Village, Klungkung Regency. This is because disposable plastic waste that is discarded carelessly by the surrounding community has caused disruption to the palemahan system (environment) in Tangkas Village. Because of concern over the problem, the Desa Adat and the local Desa Dinas, established the Darma Winangun Community Self-help Group which concentrated on the conservation of education-based campuses, particularly in the prevention of disposable plastic waste. After five years of running its various programs, the Dharma Winangun Community Self-Help Group still exists today, although it faces several obstacles. Globally, the various programs above can overcome and change people's behavior to not be consumptive towards the use of plastic waste, especially those that are disposable and switch to the use of environmentally friendly products. However, in its implementation, these various programs encountered several obstacles namely, (1) internal obstacles; there are still some communities whose awareness has not yet been awakened to the danger of disposable plastic waste, limited human resources to process waste gradually, (2) external constraints; limited capacity of space and machinery in landfills (TPS), as well as in the ecotour program also face a shortage of implementation team staff.

Abstract

For ordinary people the universe is a vehicle that is very secret and very difficult to understand. This is due to human limitations in describing it as the impact of knowledge that has not been well developed. Not only ordinary people, even scientists are still very difficult to explain the various events that are displayed by the universe. In scientific disciplines, the conception of the universe can be learned using applied science called cosmology. Cosmology is a scientific discipline that seeks to provide explanations related to the creation of the universe, the phenomena of the universe, as well as threats to the universe or the destruction of the universe. Cosmology deals with the creation, maintenance, and fusion of the universe. All of that is studied in the discipline of cosmology. In Hinduism there is a teaching or knowledge that discusses the same thing, the teachings included in the Vedas are called viratvidyā (Hindu Cosmology). This teaching emphasizes the vedas as a basis for thinking to formulate a theory that can describe the ins and outs of the universe. One of the Vedic books that deals with the teaching of viratvidyā is Upaniṣad, which is specifically found in the Bṛhad‘Āraṇyaka Upaniṣad. The viratvidyā teachings contained in the Bṛhad‘Āraṇyaka Upaniṣad will be reviewed using the Hindu perspective. This viewpoint specifically will be discussed with a focus on the very complex primordial element, God. Therefore the concept of this teaching will be reviewed and elaborated based on the perspective of Hindu theology.

Abstract

The book Īśā Upaniṣad is upanisad which is quite unique and important. Īśā upaniṣad is the shortest and smallest upaniṣad of all 18 types of upaniṣad, but is the most important upaniṣad of all upaniṣad books in Hinduism. Īśā Upaniṣad is always associated with Veda Śruti, the Yajur Veda Putih (Śukla Yajur Veda). Īśā Upaniṣad is in addition to the notion of Īśā, as well as some of the teachings on which Hinduism is based. The book Īśā Upaniṣad described that the principles of the teachings contained in Īśā Upaniṣad, namely divinity, karma, the universe, vidyā and avidyā. God is called Īśā. The absolute Iśā, and the Impersonal. The universe and all its contents are either soul or soulless, controlled by Īśā. Therefore every living creature fights steadily with the karma and closer to God in his life. Furthermore, Brahma Vidyà teachings contained in Iśā Upaniṣad, namely: God almighty, God can not be thought, God is the source of all, God is everywhere, ātman, sambhūti and asambhūti. God is called Īśā, essentially Esa, the source of everything that exists in the universe and becomes the place of the return of all things. The one, while still in place, does not move, but his speed exceeds the mind, preceding the velocity of the Gods. God is unthinkable, supernatural, pervading everything, everywhere.

Abstract

This article describes one source of Hindu theology, Kaṭha Upaniṣad. The Kaṭha Upaniṣad is examined in the scope of scientific Brahmavidya to discover the Saguna Brahman concept in it. The study also examined aspects of implementation in the practice of Hinduism in Bali. The values of local wisdom in Balinese Hindu society actually have harmony with the principles and philosophy of the Vedas. The use of Acintya as Nirguna God in the Hindu version of Bali actually actually has the signs of the Saguna Brahman which is the fusion of the Nirguna Brahman concept into the Saguna Brahman. The implementation of Saguna Brahman in Balinese Hindu practices can be seen in the manifestation of Tri Hita Karana whose principle is to manifest love for the universe, while the universe is the embodiment of God.

Abstract

Sex is an inseparable part of human life. Even so, sex has not been fully understood because more people view sex as something sacred and secret so that sex is only interpreted as a taboo or prohibition to be taught. That is the way of the past view of sex, but lately many parties view sex education is important. Because it is very warmly discussed later. During this time sexuality is often understood as something taboo to talk about especially if it is associated with religion. Of course there are many who refuse to discuss porn in a religious context. Hinduism provides a different view of sexuality. In Hinduism sexuality is seen as a sacred thing in human life because it is implicitly contained in the purusārtha chess teachings, namely dharma, artha, kama, and moksa. One of the goals of human life is the fulfillment of lust or desire (kama) which encourages people to do something that makes people excited in this life. Sex which is equated with kama in Sanskrit and Old Javanese has a place in human life. It cannot be eliminated just behind the current time, because it continues to flow as an instrument of strength to obtain the highest virtue. "People without kama will never want artha and people without kama will never want dharma either. Enjoying spirituality in sexuality activities for Hindus especially Hindus in Bali and Indonesia can be found in the Rahasya Sanggama lontar text. The Balinese have had the Rahasya Sanggama ejection as a sacred guideline in sexual activity, if the guideline is implemented properly, then there should be very few sexual cases in the Balinese environment.
