Abstract

Abu Tammam is considered a great Arab poet of his time. Abu Tammam created various poems from different topics such as spinning, praise, satire, and some of his poems include nature poetry about spring. On the other hand, Matsuo Basho was one of the most famous Japanese poets, but the greatest in writing haiku, and of most of his poetry about nature and its phenomena. Based on this, the researchers view that they should to be studied and analyzed the issue, and then compare the two poems of both poets. The study aims to show their creativity in formulating the two poems, and to reveal the aspects of agreements and disagreement between their vision, using the descriptive analytical method before resorting to the American School approach in comparative study, where the study attempts to highlight on the similiarites and differences between the two studied poems. The study found that both poems are full of descriptive styles by the presence of plants and rain. However, the use of descriptive styles in the two poems differs from one poet to another. Where Matsuo Basho deals in his poetry with styles that refer to the signs of nature from the names of animals such as birdds, sparrows, butterflies, mice and bats, and these nouns were not found in Abu Tamam’s poem. While the names of the cosmic such as the sun, the moon and the earth combined more for description or similes and metaphor in Abu Tamam poem. These differences are due to the difference in culture, language, and geographical condition between the two studied literatures: Arabs and Japan.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the learning strategies that are reported more often used by Arabic language education students in studying maharah istima' and to elaborate on the practices to provide a comprehensive overview of how to learn istima'. This study is a mixed method with a sequential explanatory design, where the researcher takes quantitative data first, then explores it in more depth through qualitative data. The quantitative data taken through a questionnaire, adapted from O'Malley and Chamot, and Vandergrift's taxonomy of learning strategies, reported that cognitive learning strategies are used by 50.3%, metacognitive learning strategies are used by 39.1%, while socio-affective learning strategies are used by 44.5%. The qualitative data collected by follow-up interviews reported that the cognitive strategies used by students included inferencing, elaboration, imagery, translation, summarization, note-taking, and substitution. Inferencing, elaboration, imagery, and translation strategies are reported to be the most used, compared to summarization, note-taking, and substitution. Metacognitive strategies are reported to be used entirely, namely planning, monitoring, evaluation, and problem identification. Meanwhile, the socio-affective strategy was reported to be the least used of the three learning strategies and only used lowering anxiety, taking emotional temperature, and questioning for clarification.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the differences in the forms of the process of absorption of vocabulary in religious terms from Arabic into Indonesian and to find out the differences in the spelling of the absorption of the same vocabulary from Arabic into Indonesian. This study used a quantitative research method with a library study approach. Library Studies is an approach in research that involves an analysis of existing sources of information. This approach aims to gather knowledge through analysis of literature similar to current research. The results of this study indicate that some of the vocabulary in Indonesian is the absorption of foreign languages, one of which comes from Arabic. The arrival of the Arabs to Indonesia around the 7th century AD had the aim of trading, besides that they also spread Islam, which until now has become the majority religion in Indonesia. language absorption processes have many classifications, but in this study the researchers focused on four classifications of word absorption processes, namely Lenition, Multiple Consonants, Alpheresis, and Syncope. An example of the Arabic word "Al-Masjidu" after the absorption word changes to "Mosque", this is one example of the process of absorbing Arabic into Indonesia with the Alpheresis process. The impact of the absorption of Arabic spelling into Indonesian is to enrich the vocabulary of the Indonesian language. Of course, without changing the meaning of the content, only absorbing a little spelling.

Abstract

The author's research aims to explain the construction of the Ifthār tradition in Sergang Village and the reception of hadiths that underlie the emergence of the Ifthār tradition, as well as other hadiths related to the Ifthār tradition. The research method to be employed is field research, conducted by directly interviewing practitioners (insiders), the general public (outsiders), and community leaders in order to achieve comprehensive research. The research will utilize the theory proposed by Peter L. Berger, using the triad dialectic theory, namely: externalization, objectification, and internalization. The results of the research show that the transmission of the Ifthār tradition has been ongoing for over a century, starting from the third caretaker of Raudlatus Syabab Islamic Boarding School, K.H. Syarqowi. There are two main hadiths that serve as the foundation for this tradition, namely the hadith about Ifthār and the hadith about the virtue of giving charity. Initially, there were no pre-Ifthār rituals among the villagers in Sergang Village. However, over time, the alumni of Pesantren Pajung, who are scattered in various regions, began organizing Ifthār in their own areas, adding several pre-Ifthār rituals. As for the transformation of the hadiths in the Ifthār tradition in Sergang Village, it has undergone five periods, influenced by influential figures from the past until the present era.

Abstract

Allah the Exalted is the only Lord of all the worlds. He has sent Prophets and Messengers in all periods to guide mankind. He has also revealed Divine Scriptures to edify mankind. Several Manuscripts and Books were revealed on different Prophets. The Qur’ān is the last and final word of Allah towards humanity till the Day of Judgment. The Qur’ān teaches humanity about the Unity of Allah, the love and obedience of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, methods of worship, and many more. In the Qur’ān, different unique methods have been adopted for the purpose of guidance e.g. literary method, psychological, interrogative, method of telling a story of past times, etc. The parabolic form is one of these methods. This article analyzes the significance and details of the illustrative method. It is the convention of Allah to teach through this method. The Apostles of Allah have also adopted this method to preach the word of Allah in an easier way.
