Abstract

The study reveals an in-depth analysis of the representation of Islam in the Western media, highlighting the issues of bias and stereotypes that still often color Western views of Islam and the Muslim community. This study uses a literature study with integrative literature analysis to obtain comprehensive results. The results of the study stated that the representation of Islam in the Western media has a significant role in shaping the views and understanding of Western society about Islam. These representations are not always objective and are often influenced by biases and stereotypes that develop, which later become the object of sharp criticism. Criticism of the representation of Islam in Western media raises issues of injustice, imbalance, and potential for Intercultural conflict. However, in this context, the role of da'wah, which focuses on delivering accurate messages, peace values, and rejection of extremism, has positively contributed to changing media representation. Whether conducted through traditional media or online platforms, da'wah can shape a more balanced narrative, overcome biases, and educate the Western public about Islam. Therefore, efforts to continue promoting an educative and peace-oriented da'wah are important in shaping a better and objective representation of Islam in Western media.

Abstract

Nowadays, with the development of information and communication technology, da'wah activities seem to be activities that are only related to lectures, cults, sermons which are watched either offline or watched on television, YouTube or other new media. The aim of this research is to find out how the fardiyah da'wah activities that were previously exemplified by Rosulullah SAW are also practiced by his people in this increasingly modern era. Researchers used descriptive qualitative methods in this research activity. In the research, it was found that the research object had been carrying out da'wah activities for a long time in an environment far from urban access. The research results show that fardiyah da'wah activities must be carried out with strong intentions, full of sincerity, patience and sufficient religious knowledge. So that fardiyah da'wah runs well and smoothly.

Abstract

This research discusses the public relations communication strategy of the Lubuklinggau city government in improving the image of the Lubuklinggau city government. This research aims to find out what communication strategies are used by Lubuklinggau city government public relations in improving the image of Lubuklinggau city government. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with data collection techniques used, namely interviews and observation. The results of the research concluded that Lubuklinggau city government public relations has implemented a public relations strategy, namely exploring the desires of the community, socializing the achievements of the Lubuklinggau city government through the media, managing relationships, developing strategies and developing networks. In accordance with its role, public relations is a tool used to establish good relations between the government, society, mass media and other agencies so that good cooperation occurs. From there, public relations carries out communication activities with the public, media and other agencies. This is done to improve the image within the institution. From these activities and strategies, a harmonious relationship was established between the community and the Lubuklinggau city government. Abstract

Islamic religious outreach activities by Islamic Religious Counselors play an important role in increasing religious understanding in the Indonesian Islamic community. Even though the number of Islamic religious instructors is still very minimal, changes related to religious understanding in society are considered quite significant and are felt by the community. This research seeks to determine the Islamic Religious Extension Strategy carried out by Islamic Religious Counselors to increase understanding of community worship practices in Lubuk Linggau Ulu Village, Lubuk Linggau Barat 2 District, Lubuk Linggau City. The research was carried out by observing the activities held by Islamic Religious Counselors who provide religious counseling in the Lubuk Linggau Ulu sub-district and conducting in-depth interviews regarding the program of activities carried out. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. Researchers in observations and interviews found that Islamic Religious Counselors in Lubuk Linggau Ulu Village, Lubuk Linggau Barat 2 District have implemented extension programs, especially programs related to increasing understanding and skills in community worship practices. The results of the research show that Islamic religious instructors in the Lubuk Linggau Ulu sub-district, Lubuk Linggau Barat 2 sub-district are implementing strategies by selecting priority programs, namely programs to increase community understanding, especially in terms of community worship practices because skills in caring for corpses, the knowledge of tajwid and understanding of the fiqh of daily worship are very important. useful and useful in society.

Abstract

During the era of globalisation, we will be presented with the disharmony of the crisis of human values with the tension of Islamic norms along with the advancement of science and technology (IPTEK). Therefore, the correlation between aspects of religion / da'wah, social communication, and science needs to be integrated in the delivery of Islamic religious education and social character building. The main focus is how da'wah and Islamic religious education can build social character in accordance with Islamic values in the midst of rapid social change. The study presented in this research uses a literature review to collect, evaluate and synthesise information from various sources, thus building a comprehensive understanding of the topic discussed. This research found that da'wah and Islamic religious education are very important in building social character in accordance with Islamic values. The concept of effective da'wah communication can help in transforming the values of Islamic religious education into relevant da'wah applications in the modern era. Islamic religious education aims to improve the quality of human resources and create a decent situation for life and the environment. Da'wah and Islamic religious education have an important role in building social character in accordance with Islamic values. In the modern era, da'wah must be able to adapt to the development of science and technology and globalisation to remain relevant and effective. This research emphasises the importance of integration between da'wah and communication to achieve sustainable da'wah goals.

Abstract

Da’wah and da’wah sciences two complementary concepts. As a family of sciences, da’wah sciences does not stand alone, but has a relationship with other auxiliary sciences. The purpose of this writing is to analyze the science of da'wah and its relationship with other branches of science. The type of research used uses a qualitative literature review approach. The results obtained are that da'wah is an activity of calling or conveying, as well as an invitation to carry out the commands of Allah SWT. and abandoning its prohibitions based on the teachings of the Islamic religion which aims for good in this world and the afterlife. The science of da'wah is a space that becomes a system for implementing da'wah. The science of da'wah itself is divided into two, namely; Islamic da'wah and general da'wah. Da'wah science has two objects, in the form of material objects and also formal objects. These two objects are interrelated and complement the systematics in the science of da'wah. The conclusions drawn by the science of da'wah also do not stand alone. Science is interconnected and interconnected. Likewise with the science of da'wah. Da'wah science is related to communication science, sociology and psychology.

Abstract

This research discusses the role of traditional leaders in maintaining the Kasai bathing tradition, where the Kasai bathing tradition is one of the traditions of the city of Lubuklinggau, South Sumatra province. Here the researcher describes the implementation of the traditional kasai bathing culture and the meaning contained in the traditional kasai bathing tradition in the city of Lubuklinggau. Then examine the perceptions of traditional leaders in maintaining the Kasai bathing tradition in the city of Lubuklinggau. The results of this research show that the traditional kasai bathing ceremony is part of the traditional marriage ceremony in the people of Lubuklinggau City. This ceremony is carried out by the bride and groom after giving alms with the facilities and infrastructure for the ceremony. The traditional kasai bathing ceremony has two meanings: (a) the bride and groom release their teenage years in the sense of freedom to mingle among bujang-dere (young people); (b) before entering married life, the bride and groom must be clean and pure. The perception of the people of Lubuklinggau City regarding the traditional kasai bathing ceremony tradition is different, some are supportive and some are less supportive, in this case the role of traditional leaders and the community is needed to continue to preserve the kasai bathing culture so that this culture is not lost.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the trends of digital Islamic narratives: whether to strengthen or reject offline Islamic authorities. Methodologically, this qualitative research focuses on Islamic YouTube channels in Indonesia. The results show that religious narratives in the online space have several tendencies based on three types of groups. First, free and progressive Muslim youth groups create provocative religious content to divide and create a new authority system that is entirely different from offline religious authorities. This group tends to oppose religious authorities in the offline space. Second, young religious fanatics tend to present famous figures (celebrities) they admire and try to strengthen the authority of these figures. Third, mainstream religious groups, such as Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah, and splinter religious groups, such as Salafism-Wahabism, Shia, and Ahmadiyah. Their online religious activities seek to strengthen the authority of their respective groups in a contested manner. It can be seen that religious narratives in the online space are not single but varied, which works on the orientation of each group and exacerbates the complexity of religious narratives in the public sphere. This study contributes to the importance of organizing Islamic digital space so that the narratives voiced are narratives that do not divide people but rather bring peace to others as a manifestation of the values of rahmatan lil alamin.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the Sore Ceria Program on RRI PRO 2 Bukittinggi in attracting and retaining listeners through informative, educational, and entertaining content. Using qualitative methods with observation, interviews, and documentation, this study involved the Broadcast Coordinator and broadcasters of LPP RRI Pro 2 Bukittinggi as the main informants, as well as students and listeners as supporting informants. The results of the study indicate that the Sore Ceria Program plays an important role in providing information, education, and entertainment that not only increases insight but also overcomes listeners' boredom. Active interaction between broadcasters and listeners creates a pleasant atmosphere, while educational content provides real benefits, so that this program has succeeded in providing a positive impact in filling listeners' free time in the afternoon.
