Abstract

This study analyzes the financial feasibility and sensitivity of PT. XYZ’s hydroponic business in Bogor Regency against production cost escalations. Primary and secondary data were evaluated using Net Present Value (NPV), Gross Benefit-Cost Ratio, Net Benefit-Cost Ratio, Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period. Sensitivity analysis was simulated across 10%, 15%, and 20% cost increase scenarios. Initial results confirm investment feasibility, yielding an NPV of IDR 71,592,208 and an IRR of 10.54%. However, profitability proves highly vulnerable. Under a 20% operational cost increase, the business reaches the feasibility threshold, suffering a 33.81% drop in NPV. While fundamentally viable, maintaining operational stability requires strict management control over the input cost structure.

Abstract

MSMEs in the home food industry often face limitations due to manual production equipment, which results in low productivity because operators or employees often experience pain when faced with prolonged dough mixing. This study aims to design an ergonomic cake mixer to improve production efficiency and productivity at Airin MSME. The literature review included concepts of work ergonomics, anthropometry with body measurements, and worker productivity. The research method used was a quantitative approach, collecting data through observation, interviews, and worker anthropometric measurements. Data were analyzed using uniformity tests and percentile calculations to determine appropriate tool dimensions. The results showed that the designed tool reduced production time, reduced operator workload, and improved dough quality consistency. Furthermore, the tool design complied with ergonomic principles based on user anthropometric data. In conclusion, the ergonomic cake mixer design has proven effective in increasing productivity and work comfort at MSMEs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the productivity level of the production process at UD Kerupuk Mawar and identify the factors causing low productivity. The problems faced by the company include imbalance between input and output, high defect rates, raw material waste, inefficient production time, and machine downtime. The methods used in this study are Objective Matrix (OMAX) to measure productivity based on several criteria and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to identify the root causes of the problems. The research data were collected from six months of production activities, including raw materials, labor, production time, machine downtime, defective products, and production output. The results showed that production productivity fluctuated and had not reached the optimal target. The main factors affecting productivity decline were high defect rates, machine downtime, and inefficient production time. Improvement proposals include increasing production supervision, regular machine maintenance, and improving work methods.

Abstract

The raw material handling process at Kerupuk Mawar MSME is still performed manually by workers. This working method results in non-ergonomic postures and increases the risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). Therefore, this study aims to develop an ergonomic cart design to reduce the risk of work-related injuries and improve the efficiency of raw material handling activities. The research employed an anthropometric approach to determine the cart dimensions and the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method to evaluate workers' postures before and after the implementation of the proposed design. The results showed that the use of the cart reduced the REBA score for Activity 1 from 4 to 2 and for Activity 2 from 8 to 2. In addition, the average handling time decreased from 81.80 seconds to 60.75 seconds, while the carrying capacity increased from two to four sacks per trip. These findings indicate that the proposed cart effectively reduces ergonomic risks, improves worker comfort, and enhances the efficiency of material handling processes.

Abstract

PT XYZ faces challenges in achieving the daily production targets of folding chairs and stacking chairs due to the accumulation of Work in Process (WIP), unbalanced workloads among workstations, and high waiting times during the production process. This study aims to identify waste and analyze production line balance to improve production efficiency. The research was conducted on the folding chair and stacking chair production lines using the Lean Manufacturing approach with Process Activity Mapping (PAM) and Line Balancing methods. PAM was applied to identify Value Added (VA), Non-Value Added (NVA), and Necessary Non-Value Added (NNVA) activities, while Line Balancing was used to evaluate workload distribution among workstations. The results indicate that the largest wastes occur in waiting and inventory activities, particularly in the chrome-plating process, which causes waiting times of up to three days. Improvements through workload balancing and the reduction of non-value-added activities were able to increase efficiency and improve production flow, enabling production targets to be achieved more effectively.
