Abstract

UD Mardi Mulyo is a small-medium tofu enterprise in Wringinanom, Gresik, East Java, producing up to 5,000 pieces of tofu per day with 8 workers in 10 working hours. The main problem is manual tofu cutting using a knife, requiring an average of 10 minutes per cooking cycle (15 kg soybean), causing physical fatigue, inconsistent cutting sizes, and inability to meet market demand. This study designed and built a pneumatic electric tofu cutting machine based on seated operator anthropometric data. Methods included field observation, stopwatch time study, anthropometric measurement, percentile calculation, and financial feasibility analysis. The machine (60×60×130 cm) uses a double-acting pneumatic cylinder Ø50 mm, food-grade SUS 304 stainless steel, costs Rp 7,100,000, with a Payback Period of ±2.39 months. The machine reduces cutting time by 50% and significantly improves cutting size consistency.

Abstract

Mie Karanganyar MSME is a business engaged in the production of noodles and wonton wrappers, where the dough mixing process is still carried out manually. This process requires approximately 34.5 minutes to mix 30 kg of dough, often resulting in production delays, employee overtime, and reduced work productivity.This study aims to design an ergonomic dough mixer for noodle and wonton wrapper production using an anthropometric approach to improve production efficiency. The anthropometric measurements used include standing elbow height, shoulder width, waist height, and forward reach as the basis for determining the machine dimensions. The design resulted in a machine with a height of 96.2 cm, a length of 133.21 cm, and a width of 65.6 cm, which are compatible with the operator’s body dimensions, thereby improving comfort and safety during operation. The manufacturing cost of the machine was Rp. 6,015,000. The implementation of the dough mixer significantly reduced the mixing time from 34.5 minutes to 15.7 minutes. The machine also increased production capacity, reduced the need for overtime work, and lowered production costs from Rp. 6,015,000 to Rp3,208,664, resulting in a cost saving of Rp. 2,806,336. Therefore, the proposed machine can improve work efficiency, productivity, and the competitiveness of Mie Karanganyar MSME.

Abstract

XYZ Merupakan Perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang Egineering, Procurement, And Construction (EPC) yang memproduksi berbagai alat industri seperti tangki LPG, dimana dalam proses produksinya khususnya pada pengerjaan material plat pembuatan tangki sering terjadi keterlambatan yang dapat mempengaruhi durasi penyelesaian proyek secara keseluruhan; Oleh karena itu peneliti ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui durasi pengerjaan material plat serta menganalisis upaya percepatan waktu pengerjaan material plat serta menganalisis Upaya percepatan waktu proyek menggunakan data berupa urutan aktivitas, durasi, serta hubungan ketergantungan antar aktivitas yang diolah menggunakan software POM-QM dan Microsoft project untuk menentukan jalur kritis dan simulasi percepatan, dimana hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa durasi normal proyek pembuatan badan tangki dan tutup (shell & head) adalah 25 hari dengan beberapa aktivitas berada jalur kritis yang tidak memiliki kelonggaran waktu, dan setelah dilakukan percepatan dengan penambahan jam kerja lembur selama 3 jam per hari pada aktivitas kritis, durasi proyek dapat dipersingkat menjadi 20 hari dengan konsekuensi adanya penambahan biaya, sehingga metode CPM dan crash Program dapat digunakan sebagaai Solusi untuk mengoptimalkan waktu penyelesaian proyek. Kata kunci: Critical Path Method (CPM), Crash Program, percepatan Proyek, Tangki LPG XYZ is a company engaged in Engineering, Procurement, and Costruction (EPC) That produces industrial equipment, including LPG storage tanks, where delays often occur in the plate material fabrication process (Shell & Head), affecting overall project completion time; yherefore, this study aims to determine the duration of plate material processing and analyzze time acceleration strategies using the Critical Path Method (CPM) and Crash Program, based on data of activy sequences, durations and dependencies processed using POM-QM and Microsoft Project to identify the critical path and simulate acceleration, with result showing that the normal project duration is 25 days with critical activites having zero slack, and through the application of a crash program by adding 3 hours of overtime per day on critical activities, the project duration can be reduced 20 days with an increase in cost due to overtie, indicating that CPM and crash program are effective in identifying crital activities an optimizing project completion time. Abstract

PT Petrokopindo Cipta Selaras faces challenges related to its production facility layout, resulting in relatively long material handling distances and potential conflicts in heavy equipment movement paths. This study aims to redesign the facility layout using the Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) approach. The methods employed include material handling distance analysis, From-To Chart (FTC), Activity Relationship Chart (ARC), and Activity Relationship Diagram (ARD). The results indicate a total material handling distance of 534.37 meters with a material transfer time of 10.63 minutes. The proposed layout improvement was developed by rearranging facility positions based on the degree of activity relationships to create a more efficient and organized material flow. This proposed layout is expected to improve material handling efficiency, minimize potential conflicts in heavy equipment movement and enhanced the overall production process.

Abstract

This research was conducted on a Single Screw Extruder machine in the Water Treatment Plant Division of PT. Tjakrindo Mas Gresik, which is used to produce 1-inch Excellon PTH 4 PVC pipes. The study aims to analyze machine effectiveness, identify the causes of low performance, calculate component reliability, and formulate recommendations for Preventive Maintenance schedules along with maintenance cost estimations. The issues identified include downtime, defective products, high setup times, and damage to the machine's main components. The object of this research covers six main components: the Motor and Gearbox, Thrust Bearing, Hopper and Feed Throat, Barrel, Screw, and Die. The methods applied include Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Fishbone Diagram, 5 Whys, and reliability analysis through the calculation of TTF, TTR, TBF, MTTF, MTTR, MTBF, Failure Rate, Repair Rate, Availability, and Reliability. The results of the study are expected to determine critical components, optimal maintenance intervals, and improve machine reliability, product quality, and maintenance cost efficiency.

Abstract

CV. XYZ is a company that produces household appliances made from Oriented Polypropylene (OPP) plastic pellets. The company is experiencing an excess of raw material inventory due to orders still being based on estimates without considering actual production needs. In 2025, the average remaining inventory reached 4,020 kg with an estimated storage cost of Rp12,288,885 per year. This condition resulted in high storage costs and inefficiencies in inventory management. This study aims to develop a production schedule using the Run Out Time (ROT) method as the basis for determining raw material needs, as well as to determine optimal inventory control using Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), safety stock, and reorder point. The research results show that the ROT scheduling produces a total of 412,508 pcs from April to June 2026. The EOQ method results in an optimal order quantity of 5,447 kg per order, a safety stock of 3,731 kg, and a reorder point of 5,091 kg. The total inventory cost using the EOQ method is Rp4,167,928, which is 31.8% lower than the company's policy of Rp6,115,000, resulting in savings of Rp1,947,072.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the ergonomic risk level in the spark plug installation process at PT XY to identify musculoskeletal complaints and provide recommendations for improvement. The Nordic Body Map method was used to identify areas of the body experiencing complaints, while the Rapid Entire Body Assessment was used to evaluate the risk level of work posture. The results revealed that the most complaints were found in the wrists, neck, back, and arms. An initial REBA score of 13 indicated a very serious risk level, requiring immediate corrective action. Proposed improvements were made through changes to the work layout by bringing the rack closer and eliminating excessive bending activities. After improvements were made, the REBA score decreased to 3, which indicates a relatively low risk level. Thus, ergonomic improvements have been proven to increase comfort and reduce the potential for work injuries in spark plug installation operators.

Abstract

UD. LJS is a paper bag production company facing problems with the absence of standard time and workload imbalance, causing paper bag production targets to often not be achieved optimally. This study aims to establish standard working times, measure the real workload of operators, and formulate an efficient labor allocation through the Stopwatch Time Study approach and the Work Load Analysis (WLA) method. The evaluation results show a variation in standard time with the highest value in the Packing 2 process (16.72 seconds) and the lowest in the Cutting process (2.37 seconds). The WLA calculation results suggest increasing the number of workers from 20 to 31 people at work stations experiencing load accumulation. Based on cost comparison, the implementation of an overtime policy with a total expenditure of Rp. 107,640,000 is recommended as the best solution because it is more economical than adding new employees which requires a cost of Rp112,840,000.

Abstract

Operational cost efficiency, particularly in transportation, is a critical factor in supporting the performance of a company's distribution system. PT Tjakrindo MAS Gresik faces challenges regarding suboptimal distribution routes, underutilized vehicle capacity, and high transportation costs caused by inefficient travel distances. The current distribution system is based solely on regional division without considering the integration between distributor demand and vehicle capacity. This lack of integration leads to empty cargo space, increased operational time, and a total distribution travel distance of 5,130.8 km. This study aims to design more optimal distribution routes and minimize transportation costs using the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP) method with a Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) approach, solved using LINGO software. The data utilized includes distances between locations, distributor demands, vehicle capacities, fleet size, and transportation costs. The results of this study are expected to yield more efficient distribution routes through reduced travel distance, increased vehicle utilization, and decreased transportation costs compared to the existing distribution system.

Abstract

An adequate supply of raw materials is one of the main factors in maintaining the smooth operation of the production process in the manufacturing industry. UD XYZ , a company that produces shoe soles, has experienced a shortage of raw materials, which has affected the production process and hindered the achievement of production targets. The purpose of this study is to analyze the inventory control system and determine the most efficient inventory policy. The methods used include forecasting with Moving Average (MA), Weighted Moving Average (WMA), and Single Exponential Smoothing (SES), as well as inventory control with the probabilistic P-Back Order Model. The results of the study show that the most optimal inventory solution is obtained in the fourth iteration with an order interval of 0.0891 years, an order quantity of 3,991.06 kg, a safety stock of 659.09 kg, a reorder point of 4,650.15 kg, and a total inventory cost of Rp 1,527,552,249.94. Implementing this policy is expected to minimize the risk of shortage, increase inventory efficiency, and support the smooth operation of the company's production activities.
