In this research, there are two objectives. First, to identify the kinds of flouting maxim performed by the main character in The Edge of Seventeen movie and Second, to find out the effect of flouting maxim performed by the main character in the movie. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The data of this research are twenty dialogues of The Edge of Seventeen movie which is containing flouting maxim. In analyzing the data, the researcher found that Nadine as the main character of the movie flouted all types of maxim. The most flouting maxim used by Nadine is floating maxim of quantity and, the least flouting maxim performed by Nadine are flouting maxim of quality and flouting maxim of manner. For the effects, Nadine gave seven effects based on Austin’s Perlocutionary effect theory to the other character of the movie. The seven effects based on Austin’s theory are annoying, boring, convincing, causing, getting the hearer realize something, getting the hearer to do something, and insulting. Further, the effect that mostly performed by Nadine in the movie is getting the hearer realize something effect.

This study aims to find out the factors that cause the crime of abandonment of wives by husbands in the village of Meunasah Manyang, Kec. Krueng Barona Jaya, Kab. Aceh Besar and what efforts can be made in preventing the occurrence of abandonment carried out by husband to wife in the village of Meunasah Manyang, Kab, Aceh Besar.This Research is a Normative juridical method in addition to this research supported by empirical research through interviews. The results showed that the factors causing abandonment in Meunasah Manyang Village are First: economic factors, economic factors are the main factors that cause the crime of ejection, secondly: infidelity factors, third: intervention factors from third parties, fourth: husband factors gambling and fifth: namely factors working wives or wives have their own income, in Meunasah Manyang Village there are some cases of abandonment carried out by husbands not want to report things law enforment officials, prevention efforts carried out by the village head Meunasah Manyang by taking a persuasive approach by giving to victims.

The purposes of the study were to (1) find out the level of students reading comprehension of different genres and (2) to describe students reading comprehension of different genres of text. The subject of the research was the eight grade students in SMP Negeri 2 Pacurbatu. The research was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected by using reading comprehension test and interview. Then The data were analyzed by identifying the result of test first, describing the result and the last was explaining the result. Based on the result of the data analysis, it was found that the students were good at both literal and inferrential. Literal comprehension was 75.95% better than inferrential comprehension 72,68 %. Furthermore, students reading comprehension of narrative texts was the dominant genre with 75.00% which belonged to good category and followed by recount text with 72.98%, procedure text with 73.79% and the last was descriptive text with 69.75% which the only genre belonged to fair category

Sejak banyaknya penelitian yang menemukan bahwa umpan balik korektif dosen memberikan kontribusi yang tinggi terhadap perkembangan kemampuan berbicara, maka penelitian yang berhubungan dengan hal ini pun semakin berkembang namun masih terfokus kepada implementaasi umpan balik korektif dan jenis-jenis umpan balik korektif yang digunakan oleh pengajar dalam pembelajaran bahasa. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menemukan bagaimana persepsi mahasiswa terhadap umpan balik korektif dosen yang diberikan pada mata kuliah speaking. Dengan menggunakan metode pemberian kuesioner kepada 44 mahasiswa dan wawancara kepada 22 mahasiswa, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa memiliki persepsi yang positif terhadap keberadaan umpan balik korektif dosen karena hal tersebut menolong mereka mengetahui kesalahan yang mereka lakukan, mengetahui langkah perbaikan yang akhirnya meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa, memberi dampak untuk semakin berani berbicara dan meningkatkan keaktifan mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran speaking. Jenis umpan balik korektif yang paling sering digunakan oleh dosen adalah elicitation dan hal ini berbeda dengan jenis umpan balik yang disukai oleh mahasiswa, yakni explicit correction. Mahasiswa lebih memilih explicit correction karena mahasiswa dapat mengetahui secara langsung apa yang menjadi kesalahan mereka bersamaan dengan jawaban yang benar. Mahasiswa paling tidak menyukai jenis metalinguistic clue karena penggunaan jeni umpan balik ini mengakibatkan kebingungan bagi mahasiswa untuk menemukan kesalahan mereka sendiri karena diakibatkan oleh pengetahuan mereka mengenai komponen-komponen berbicara bahasa Inggris yang belum memadai.

The pedestrian bridge (JPO), as part of the supporting facilities for the road transportation system, has an important role in the arrangement of the transportation system because in its planning the pedestrian bridge is planned to meet safety, security and comfort aspects and can be a liaison between areas that can be accessed by pedestrians. The research was conducted at the Sisingamangaraja Stree JPO which connects two (2) commercial areas, namely the Grand Mosque and the Yuki Simpang Raya shopping center which are generally crowded with residents of Medan City. Primary data collection in the field is carried out on the number of road crossings, both using JPO or not. The data finally shows that the Sisingamangaraja Street JPO is a JPO that is considered Effective as indicated by the percentage value of effectiveness is 61%. In addition, to show the correct crossing facilities on the road, traffic volume calculations are also carried out during peak hours which indicate that the correct crossing facility is a pelican with a waiting booth.

The theory used in the motivation variable is Herzberg's Motivation Theory in which motivation is divided into two, namely intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, then Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs Theory. One of the data collection techniques used in this research is through questionnaires and literature review of the object under study. From the results of hypothesis testing with a simple correlation (bivariate) that has been done, it shows that: There is a strong and real positive relationship between Employee Work Motivation (X) and Work Productivity (Y). This shows that the higher the level of work motivation, the better the performance will be. The partial correlation hypothesis testing shows that: There is a positive and real relationship between Work Motivation (X) and Work Productivity (Y), which indicates that the higher the level of Work Motivation, the better the productivity. The correlation value between X and Y is 0.714, indicating that there is a close relationship between Work Motivation and Work Productivity. Hypothesis testing to see the relationship between the level of motivation and productivity is tested simultaneously. The test results show that there is a close and real relationship between the level of work motivation and work productivity, which is equal to 0.714

This study aims to determine: the direct influence of work discipline organizational culture and work motivation on the performance of PT. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, Branch Pangkalan Brandan, totaling 76 employees. The data collection techniques of this study were questionnaires and observations. While the data analysis technique used is the classical assumption test, multiple regression F test t test and the coefficient of determination. The results of testing the coefficient of determination or R2 obtained Adjusted R Square value of 0.445, meaning that the variables of Organizational Culture, Work Discipline, Work Motivation are able to explain how the Employee Performance at PT. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, Branch Pangkalan Brandan amounted to 44.5%. While the remaining 55.5% by other factors not examined in this study such as leadership style, job satisfaction, work environment, personal abilities, work climate and other socio-economic factors.

Dalam hubungan antar kelompok sosial sering kali muncul ketidakseimbangan kekuatan sehingga memicu timbulnya diskriminasi. Perbedaan gender merupakan salah satu alasan terjadinya diskriminasi, bukan hanya di Indonesia melainkan juga pada masyarakat internasional. Perempuan kerap merasakan ketidakadilan karena dianggap lemah dan memiliki keterbatasan hak dibandingkan lelaki padahal hak perempuan sesungguhnya juga bagian dari hak asasi manusia. Pemerintah Indonesia melindungi hak Perempuan dalam Konstitusi Undang-undang Dasar Negara Republik Indonesia tahun 1945, namun hal ini tak serta merta mengurangi diskriminasi dilingkungan masyarakat. Berbagai kebijakan pemerintah serta usaha masyarakat Indonesia dilakukan untuk memberantas diskriminasi dan melindungi hak-hak perempuan. Salah satu usaha pemerintah Indonesia dalam melindungi hak perempuan ialah dengan meratifikasi konvensi yang berkenaan dengan kaum perempuan serta membahas penghapusan diskriminasi yakni Convention for the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). Konvensi ini menjadi tonggak baru bagi kebijakan pemerintah Indonesia dalam melindungi hak-hak perempuan di Indonesia

This study aimed to find out the impoliteness strategy used by netizens in commenting on actor's tweets and the forms of tweet comments made by netizens. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method. The sources of data were tweeted by Jefri Nichol, one of the famous actors in Indonesia. In analyzing the data, the Theory of Culpeper (1996) describes the kinds of impoliteness strategies that netizens used in their tweet comments. This research shows that there are five data of tweet comments categorized into four types: bald on record impoliteness, positive impoliteness, negative impoliteness, and sarcasm or mock politeness. This research uses the Theory of Beebe (1995) and Bousfield (2008) for power performed, which categorized as superior, get authority over actions, dominate a conversation, emphasize the power hierarchy, and reactivate the power. The findings show that the netizens were angry and uncomfortable with Jefri's tweet because his tweet was like carrying someone's physical or face, where the things like this were a sensitive topic.

Pembatasan Presiden Indonesia untuk memangku masa jabatan untuk dua periode adalah upaya dari rakyat melalui MPR untuk mencegah Presiden Indonesia memegang kekuasaan melebihi waktu 10 tahun, agar dapat terhindar dari penyalahgunaan kekuasaan maupun otorisasi dari satu pihak dalam menjalankan tugas. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pengumpulkan data dari buku, media kabar, jurnal-jurnal penelitian sebelumnya, dan perundangan yang berlaku. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa jika rakyat menghendaki, maka undang-undang bisa dirubah sesuai keperluan.
