Abstract

People empowerment is the basic element which enables a community to survive, and in a dynamic term it means todevelop one’s self and to achieve progress. UKM (Small and Medium Enterprise) empowerment constitutes a treatmentwhich is given to powerless UKM in order to make it powerful; in this case, it will eliminate or at least reduce itspowerlessness and actualizes its potency and utilizes its opportunity. The objective of the research was to find out somefactors which influenced UKM empowerment and people’s welfare in Medan. The research used descriptive quantitativemethod, and the data were gathered by using secondary and primary data, and the hypothesis was tested by using datasamples. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used as Statistical Inferential method in analyzing the data. The result ofthe research showed that, first, institutional empowerment, local enterprise authority empowerment, stakeholdersempowerment, space empowerment, increase in access to financing sources, empowerment in production through the aid ofselective business sector as stimulant, marketing network development, human resources empowerment, information andtechnology empowerment, and monitoring and evaluation empowerment were ten factors which had positive and significantinfluence on UKM empowerment in Medan; secondly, life quality from material viewpoint, life quality from physical viewpoint,life quality from mental viewpoint, and life quality from spiritual viewpoint were four factors which had positive and significantinfluence on people’s welfare in Medan; and three, UKM empowerment had negative but significant influence on people’swelfare in Medan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: the direct influence of work discipline organizational culture and work motivation on the performance of PT. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, Branch Pangkalan Brandan, totaling 76 employees. The data collection techniques of this study were questionnaires and observations. While the data analysis technique used is the classical assumption test, multiple regression F test t test and the coefficient of determination. The results of testing the coefficient of determination or R2 obtained Adjusted R Square value of 0.445, meaning that the variables of Organizational Culture, Work Discipline, Work Motivation are able to explain how the Employee Performance at PT. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, Branch Pangkalan Brandan amounted to 44.5%. While the remaining 55.5% by other factors not examined in this study such as leadership style, job satisfaction, work environment, personal abilities, work climate and other socio-economic factors.

Abstract

 Economic growth is one of the important indicators in the analysis of the economic development that occurs in a country or region. Economic growth is the process whereby an increase in real gross national product or national income real. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the inflation, interest rates and exchange rates affect economic growth in the short term and long term in the city of Medan. Samples taken include data on inflation,  Interest Rate, exchange rate, Economic Growth Medan City Year 2000-2015. The analysis tool used is the Engle-Granger Error Correction Model (EG-ECM). Data processing is done electronically ie using Eviews Software 7.0The research results in the short term is the variable interest rate and exchange rate SBI has a significant influence on the economic growth of the city of Medan. While the inflation variable does not have a significant impact on economic growth in the city of Medan. In the variable length SBI inflation and interest rates have a significant influence on the economic growth of the city of Medan. While the variable rate has no significant effect on economic growth in the city of Medan. The magnitude of the influence of the independent variables of inflation, SBI interest rate and the exchange rate against the growth of the city of Medan in the short term by 42.64% and for the long term at 66.74 and the rest describe the influence of variables outside the model.

Abstract

Many factors affect performance, including organizational culture, commitment, work discipline, leadership, compensation, and so on. However, the factors studied are organizational culture, work discipline and commitment. This study aims at finding the effect of organizational culture and work discipline and commitment simultaneously to the performance of employees at the Medan Kota Primary Tax Office. The population of this research is 116 employees. In determining the sample, the Slovin formual was used and 54 people are obtained. The data collection techniques of this research are questionnaires and documentation study while the data analysis technique uses the classical assumption test, multiple regression, t test, F test and the coefficient of determination. The results showed that organizational culture showed a significant influence on the performance of employees at the Medan Kota Primary Tax Office. The better the organizational culture, the higher the performance. Work discipline shows a significant influence on the performance of employees at the Medan Kota Pratama Tax Office. The better the work discipline variable, the higher the performance variable. Commitment shows a significant effect on the performance of employees at the Medan Kota Pratama Tax Office. The better the commitment, the higher the performance. Simultaneously there is a significant influence on the influence of organizational culture, work discipline, and commitment to employee performance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Komunikasi, Kerjasama Kelompok, Kepemimpinan Dan Pengambilan Keputusan Terhadap Kinerja Anggota Polri (Studi Kasus Pada Unit Sekretariat Kepolisian Derah Sumatera Utara). Adapun hasil penelitian Bahwa variabel Komunikasi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap variabel Kinerja Anggota Polisi. Bahwa variabel Kerjasama Kelompok berpengaruh signifikan terhadap variabel Kinerja Anggota Polisi.Bahwa variabel Kepemimpinan tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap variabel Kinerja Anggota Polisi. Bahwa variabel Pengambilan Keputusan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap variabel Kinerja Anggota Polisi Bahwa Komunikasi, Kerjasama Kelompok, Kepemimpinan, dan Pengambilan Keputusan berpengaruh signifikan secara bersama-sama (simultan) terhadap variabel Kinerja Anggota Polisi. Melihat hasil penelitian ini yang menunjukkan bahwa Kerjasama Kelompok dan Pengambilan Keputusan sudah baik. Maka Unit Sekretariat Kepolisian Daerah Sumatera Utara diharapkan terus menjaga Kerjasama Kelompok dan Pengambilan Keputusan guna meningkatkan Kinerja Anggota Polisi yang tentu saja akan berdampak positif juga bagi Unit Sekretariat Kepolisian Daerah Sumatera Utara.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan dan motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai dengan kualitas sumber daya manusia sebagai variabel moderatisasi pada Unit Pelaksana Jalan Nasional Wilayah II, Provinsi Sumatera Utara, Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat . Adapun hasil penelitian ini, hipotesis pertama yang diajukan menyatakan bahwa variabel kemampuan kerja (X1) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap variabel kinerja pegawai (Y). Variabel Motivasi Kerja (X2) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap variabel Kinerja Karyawan (Y). Variabel Kemampuan Kerja (X1) , Motivasi Kerja (X2) , memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan secara bersamaan (serentak) pada variabel Kinerja Karyawan (Y). Variabel Kualitas Sumber Daya Manusia (Z) adalah variabel moderator yang mempengaruhi hubungan antara Kemampuan Kerja (X1) dan Kinerja Karyawan (Y) . Variabel Kualitas Sumber Daya Manusia (Z) bukanlah variabel moderator yang mempengaruhi hubungan antara motivasi kerja (X2) dan kinerja karyawan (Y) . Dapat dilihat bahwa nilai kuadrat R yang disesuaikan adalah 0, 489 atau 48, 9%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel Kemampuan Kerja (X1) , Motivasi Kerja (X2) , dapat menjelaskan variabel Kinerja Karyawan (Y) sebesar 48,9%, sisanya 51,1% (100% - 48,9%) dijelaskan oleh variabel lain. di luar model penelitian ini seperti budaya organisasi dan kompetensi.

Abstract

The purpose of community service activities in the form of Empowerment and Fostering of Weak Economic Communities is to provide input on what businesses can be developed according to the conditions in the environment and in accordance with the current situation, namely the Covid 19 Pandemic outbreak. The target audience in this PPM activity are people who live in Neighborhood IV, Sidomulio Village, Medan Tuntungan District, totaling 25 people whose livelihoods are as farmers and also as farm laborers. The availability of adequate academics in giving lectures on Empowerment and Development of Weak Economic Communities at the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics, Indonesian Methodist University, the enthusiasm of the participants, the support of the Village Head and the Head of the Environment for the implementation of activities and supporting funds from UMI are the supporters of the implementation of this PPM activity. The problem is the limited time for coaching. The benefits that participants get from this PPM activity include fostering economically weak communities.

Abstract

Community service aims to provide guidance to teachers in carrying out the tasks of the teaching and learning process. In this case, the method used is the lecture, discussion, and question and answer method. Through this, many inputs were obtained, including the characteristics of quality schools and of course quality human resources are needed, especially with the Covid 19 pandemic that has hit the city of Medan and the world in general. Quality school management starts from the principal, teachers, investment in finance and adequate infrastructure.

Abstract

Community Service aims to provide motivation and creativity and do business in Lumban Pea Timur Village, Toba Regency. In this case, the method used is the lecture, discussion, and question and answer method. Through this, many inputs were obtained, regarding the motives of the business being carried out, whether the business or business being carried out was the first attempt to be carried out, whether it had failed in carrying out the business and had been given training to open the business. Finally, through a question and answer session that the community is willing to do business, the motivation is high, but it is necessary to provide training to the community and assistance as well as working capital assistance to the local community.

Abstract

Increasing people's income can be done with various approaches, by conducting training for the community. Conducting training for mothers who are members of the Peaceful Prosperous Self-help Agency (BKM) in Sukaraja Village – Medan Maimun District. Through training in making liquid soap, it is hoped that it will increase human resources who are able to rely on their own strength. The purpose of this training is to make your own liquid laundry soap and motivate mothers so they can increase their income. The results obtained were that the enthusiasm of the participants was extraordinary and hoped that the training activities would continue to be carried out.
