Abstract

This study investigates public sentiment toward the transparency of financial reporting by zakat management institutions in Indonesia, with a focus on how these perceptions manifest on social media platforms. Despite the high potential of zakat in Indonesia, public trust in its management remains fragile, often due to a lack of transparency. Using a netnographic qualitative approach, this research employs Brand24 a social media monitoring tool to collect and analyze digital convertations related to the financial transparency of organizations such as BAZNAS and Rumah Zakat between April 19 and May 19, 2025. The fidings reveal a significant fluctuation in both positive and negative sentiments over the observation period, indicating public secsitivity to issues of transparency. The fifth week of monitoring recorded the highest level of positive sentiment, while the fourth week saw a spike in criticism. Mentions and reach analyses show that social media, particularly Twitter, Tik Tok, and online news, play a pivotal role in shaping public discourse. This research concludes that media sentiment is a critical indicator of public trust and highlights the need for zakat institutions to improve transparency through proactive digital communications strategies. The study contributes to understanding the intersection of digital communications, Islamic philanthropy, and public accountability in the digital era.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism communication strategies are a crucial approach to developing tourist destinations, addressing not only economic aspects but also social and environmental aspects. Appropriate tourism communication strategies, such as effective information dissemination, strengthening the destination's image, community participation, interactive communication with tourists, and ongoing education for local communities, are integral to sustainable tourism development. Pampang Cultural Village, located in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, is rich in local traditions and culture and serves as an ideal example for implementing sustainable tourism communication. This study aims to analyze the communication strategies used by village managers to promote sustainable tourism and their impact on the local community and the environment. A case study method and a qualitative approach, including in-depth interviews and participant observation, will be used in this study. This study analyzes sustainable tourism communication strategies at Pampang Cultural Village and finds that a holistic, integrated approach is key to sustainability. The four main components of the education and empowerment community program development (CBT), stakeholder engagement, and the use of digital technology work synergistically. Education builds awareness, CBT empowers local communities, stakeholder synergy creates a harmonious ecosystem, and digital technology expands the reach of promotions. Integrating these four elements into a cohesive narrative is crucial. As a result, Pampang Cultural Village has the potential to become a sustainable destination that preserves culture and has a positive impact on the community and the environment

Abstract

This study analyzes the representation of the Royal Graves of the Hadat Banggae in Majene, West Sulawesi, within the digital sphere through a netnographic approach. The research focuses on cultural, historical, and religious narratives produced on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook related to the site. Data were collected through passive-participant observation, documentation of visual and textual content, and analysis of audience comments. The findings reveal that each platform serves distinct functions: YouTube emphasizes documentation and education, Instagram highlights aesthetic and visual identity, while Facebook functions as a space for community interaction. The resulting cultural narratives encompass historical, symbolic, religious, aesthetic, educational, and participatory dimensions. Visual and textual analysis indicates that the representation of the graves is not limited to a traditional burial site but also constitutes a dynamic cultural construct, open to public interpretation, and functioning simultaneously as a heritage tourism destination. These findings underscore the role of digital media as a cultural mediation space that interweaves collective memory, local identity, and the consumption of historical tourism. The study highlights the importance of digital literacy, academic–community collaboration, and preservation strategies to ensure that cultural heritage continues to thrive within the digital communication landscape.
