Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the fight against brawl culture in high schools (SMA) through the implementation of character education in the Child Friendly School policy. The approach used is qualitative with the object of research teachers and principals. Data collection in this study uses interviews, observation and recommendation studies. Based on research results found that through good character education management that involves teachers and principals as examples in the application of character education, it can encourage students not to fight.

Abstract

The emergence of the era of The Fourth Industrial Revolution (the 4.0 IR), the utilization of education resources optimally and comprehensively has a strategic and significant role in realizing the mission and objectives of higher education that maintains education as its Core Business. In order to be able to manage educational resources effectively and efficiently, appropriate managerial strategies are needed and describe actions based on goals that will be realized so as to create sustainable competitive advantages, in carrying out their programs based on managerial strategies for the use of educational resources efficiently and effectively. This study aims to analyze managerial strategies carried out by universities that have legal entities in using educational resources to support the realization of their mission. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach, with the object of research being universities that have legal entities, with the research sample being UPI PTN-BH. The managerial strategy of financial management of all activities is based on internet media (on-line), both in terms of planning, implementation, supervision and reporting. However, it needs to be improved in relation to the competence of the implementing staff in accordance with the needs and demands relating to the applicable financial information technology, in streamlining and streamlining the work patterns that must be applied.Keywords: Financial management, managerial strategies, educational resources

Abstract

The success of school principals in changing the work culture of a better school depends on the mindset of change they have. This study seeks to prove whether or not there is an influence on the principal's mindset of leadership on work culture in schools. The research was conducted on 156 state Junior High School’s teachers in West Bandung Regency, West Java. Through survey methods and quantitative approaches, the data obtained were analyzed using correlation technique analysis.  The results showed that the principal's mindset had a significant correlation with school's work culture. This is based on Pearson's correlation value of 0.510, and included in the strong correlation category. As a recommendation, school principals must have a transformative, innovative and visionary principal’s mindset in building a work culture in schools.

Abstract

The primary aim of this study is to discover how quality improvement management in primary school, in terms of students, educators, headmasters, curriculum, learning process, and infrastructures, is implemented.  The present study employs qualitative research method, which is descriptive, using analysis, referring to data, and utilizing existing theories as supporting materials.  The primary data source in a qualitative study is the informant.  Data is collected through interviews, observation, and documentation.  The findings of this study indicate that education quality improvement management in a primary school in West Java, Indonesia is quite good.  However, there are some aspects that need to be improved to achieve high quality education, particularly the facilities and infrastructure aspect.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out and examine the influence of principal's leadership and teacher’s professional competency toward students’ learning achievement. The research method was descriptive and verification methods, with a Likert scale questionnaire as data collection techniques distributed to 54 teachers. Regression analysis technique was used in processing the research result with F-Test as the significance test. The results showed that: (1) there was a positive but less significant effect between the leadership of the principal on students’ achievement. (2) There is a positive and significant influence between the professional competencies of teacher on students’ achievement. (3) There is a positive and significant influence between the principal's leadership and teacher professional competence simultaneously on the learning achievement. Starting from these conditions, the authors suggest, that: (1) Principals are expected to be able to implement their mission more optimally by involving teachers in the preparation of vision and mission as well as improving their socialization programs to have whole understanding from all elements in the school (2) Teachers should learn more and comply with ethics code by attending the MGMP discussion and PGRI meetings. The teachers also have to maximize and enrich their teaching materials, by reading more journals and books in accordance with their fields and delving more insight from the internet.

Abstract

The study was designed to check the impact of socio-emotional intelligence on academic performance of the university students. The target population was BS, MS and PhD students of the COMSATS institute for information technology. Self-administered questionnaire based survey method was adopted using Bar On EQ-I questionnaire for data collection based on non-random sampling (Convenient) sampling method. Results indicate positive correlation between socio-emotional intelligence and academic performance and the results recommend penetration of socio-emotional intelligence practices in teaching learning processes for getting best possible academics objectives.
