Abstract

Kendal Regency emerges as a significant stunting hotspot, reporting 5,017 at-risk toddlers for stunting in 2021. Parental comprehension of stunting and caregiving practices in toddler nutrition are crucial predisposing factors. This study investigates parental knowledge and caregiving patterns regarding stunted toddlers in Kendal. Employing purposive sampling, 165 parents (mothers/fathers) were selected. Through a knowledge and caregiving pattern questionnaire, findings reveal parents' moderate awareness of toddler stunting; 77.6% display satisfactory understanding, while 22.4% demonstrate limited awareness. Analysis of caregiving patterns indicates that 57% of parents adopt appropriate nutritional caregiving, 27.9% exhibit insufficiencies, and 15.2% follow commendable practices. These results underscore the need to enhance parental understanding of stunting and improve nutritional caregiving for stunted children. It is recommended that parents of stunted toddlers actively seek information on stunting management and attentively address nutritional requirements, particularly fat intake, for severely underweight children.

Abstract

Hypertension is the leading cause of death in the 21st century when systolic and diastolic blood pressure increases. Prevention of complications due to hypertension can be done by monitoring blood pressure. Smartwatch innovations are helpful in the health sector for monitoring blood pressure, which can be used as an initial screening for people. In addition to monitoring blood pressure, nonpharmacological therapy is one of the management of hypertension. A combination of progressive muscle relaxation and isometric exercise in hypertensive patients can help lower blood pressure by relaxing muscles. Objective: This research aims to determine the effectiveness of smartwatches in generating hypertension alarms and the effectiveness of pmr-isometric as therapy in lowering blood pressure. This research used a quick experiment with one group pre-post test design. The respondents were recruited by purposive sampling method for 16 hypertensive people. The inclusion criteria in this study are respondents aged 35-65 years, have good hemodynamic status to be able to do therapeutic exercises, can speak Indonesian, and do not have vision and hearing problems. Exclusion criteria were respondents who had advanced complications of hypertension, such as heart disease, stroke, paralysis, and immobilization. The intervention was given once for 20 minutes using a YouTube video connected to smartwatch and a demonstration followed by the respondent. The pre-test value was measured from the respondent's blood pressure 5 minutes before the intervention, while the post-test value was taken after 5 minutes. Data were analyzed by paired sample t-test. The results showed that the smartwatch alarm detector could detect blood pressure, and there was an effect of applying a combination of progressive muscle relaxation and isometric exercise on the blood pressure values of hypertensive patients with a p-value of 0.002 (p < 0.05). Smartwatch has proven effective as an early screening for hypertension and a combination of progressive muscle relaxation and isometric exercise, which effectively lower blood pressure in people with hypertension.

Abstract

The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia still really needs attention from all sectors, even though there has been a decline in the last decade, the figure is in the highest category among countries in Southeast Asia. Objective: This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the spatial distribution of stunting incidents in Bireuen Regency. Method: This research is an analytical descriptive observational study with an ecological study design and using a spatial epidemiology approach. Researchers use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial analysis based on secondary data. Spatial analysis in this study was used to determine the distribution pattern of stunting and spatial correlation with the incidence of stunting in Bireuen Regency. Results: Based on spatial mapping analysis carried out in the Regency, it was found that the highest prevalence of stunting occurred in 2022, showed that the prevalence of stunting is in the very high category (in red), namely there are 3 villages with a percentage (>40%) spread across Jeumpa and Peusangan Regencies (figure 7). However, the largest number of locus villages were found in 2023 with a total of 50 villages (figure 5). Conclusions: Based on spatial analysis, the results showed that the prevalence of stunting from 2021-2023 was very high in 2022, namely there were 3 villages with a percentage (>40%) spread across Jeumpa and Peusangan Districts. However, the largest number of locus villages were found in 2023 with 50 villages. The Bireuen Regency Government continues to strive to prevent stunting so that the next generation in Bireuen Regency becomes a smart and high-quality generation capable of competing globally.

Abstract

Accelerating the reduction of maternal and child mortality rates can be done by accessing quality maternal health services by antenatal care. This study aimed to identify the spatial distribution pattern of antenatal service coverage in Jambi Municipality in 2019-2021. Global and local Moran Index using Local Indicator for Spatial Autocorrelation (LISA) analysis was used in this study to map hotspots and lowspots of antenatal service coverage. This research used an ecological study with the unit of analysis of all sub-district in Jambi Municipality, totalling 62 sub-districts. Data on antenatal care coverage (K1 and K4) from 2019 to 2021 at the sub-district level were obtained from 20 community health centers. The results of this study found a positive autocorrelation of K1 and K4 from 2019 to 2021. The results of the analysis using LISA found that K1 and K4 coverage hotspots have the same pattern in the northwest direction of Jambi Municipality covering Danau Teluk, Pelayangan, Pasar Jambi districts and K1 and K4 lowspots with the same pattern in the Southwest, Southeast, and South directions covering Alam Barajo and Kota Baru districts. Knowing the pattern of distribution of antenatal service coverage (K1 and K4) can determine the priority areas that need to be improved antenatal service coverage in Jambi Municipality.

Abstract

Type 2 DM is a metabolic disorder caused by a lack of insulin hormone. (Intermittent Fasting) is an effective method used to help lower and stabilize blood glucose in patients with Type II Diabetes Mellitus. This type of research is a description with a case study approach model. The sample is 2 respondents with Type II Diabetes Mellitus. The application of intermittent fasting diet to respondents with type 2 diabetes mellitus obtained different results, where the first respondent was unsuccessful in carrying out the intermittent fasting diet marked by the GDS levels before and after the intervention were still the same, namely 225 mg / dl, while the second respondent had results marked by GDS before the intermittent fasting diet was 220 mg / dl and after the intermittent fasting diet became 202 mg / dl. Conclusion of the intermittent fasting diet can be seen whether or not there is compliance in carrying out intermittent fasting to determine stable blood sugar levels. In the first respondent, there was no effectiveness because they did not comply with the existing rules in carrying out the intermittent fasting diet which resulted in no decrease in blood sugar levels, while for the second respondent there was a decrease in blood sugar levels and had effectiveness in the intermittent fasting diet, if both respondents did it optimally it would cause a decrease in blood sugar levels.
