Abstract

The Covid-19 Pandemic, spanning from 2020 to 2022, ushered in unprecedented challenges for the healthcare system, impacting nurses who played a pivotal role in the global and Indonesian responses. Nurses faced emotional exhaustion, diminished job satisfaction, and suboptimal working conditions, compounded by increased responsibilities and monotony in delivering healthcare services. Objective: This study aimed to identify predictive factors influencing the post-pandemic quality of life among nurses in Padang City hospitals. Utilizing purposive sampling, 88 nurses participated, providing data through a demographic questionnaire, Perceived Stress Scale, and Professional Quality of Life Scale (ProQoL-21). Nurses' quality of life (p-value = 0.000). Conversely, age, gender, tenure, experience in caring for Covid-19 patients, and career level exhibited no significant correlations. The findings underscore the importance of addressing stress as a determinant of nurses' well-being. Care managers at Padang City Hospital can leverage these insights to enhance nurses' quality of life, ultimately optimizing healthcare delivery to the community. Abstract

The human body regulates its temperature to normal levels when exposed to cold temperatures, which allows it to adjust to changes in its surroundings. The force of blood that the heart pumps against the artery walls is called blood pressure. Variations in fishermen's blood pressure may be affected by the cold working environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of blood pressure before and after exposure to air temperature in fishermen workers. With a single group pretest-posttest quantitative research methodology, this study used an experimental pre-research design. Univariate data analysis, bivariate using the Wilcoson test and multivariate using MANOVA testing. The study population was 57 fishermen of Tanjung Tiram District. By using the basic random selection approach, the research sample amounted to 50 respondents. Data collection using primary data obtained directly from fishermen workers on the Tanjung Tiram coast using digital tension meters and observation sheets. The analytical tool used is SPSS. The results showed that there was a comparison of blood pressure before and after exposure to air temperature, meaning that exposure to air temperature can increase blood pressure both systole and diastole, so maintaining health is needed for workers who work as fishermen.

Abstract

Anemia frequently manifests in pregnant women as a consequence of alterations in the cardiovascular system, leading to hemodilution and a subsequent decline in blood oxygen levels. The augmented iron demands during pregnancy arise from the needs of the fetus and placenta, coupled with physiological shifts like heightened blood volume and red blood cell count. This elevation in levels may contribute to diminished hemoglobin and hematocrit levels, consequently escalating the prevalence of anemia and iron deficiency during pregnancy. A viable solution for averting anemia in pregnant women involves the consumption of fruits rich in iron and vitamin C, such as dragon fruit, crucial for hemoglobin synthesis. The research method employed in this study followed a quantitative approach, specifically utilizing quasi-experimental research with a pretest-post-test design, including a control group. The study population comprised all pregnant women attending TPMB N Depok, West Java, during October-December 2023. Inclusion criteria involved pregnant women aged 16-34 weeks who visited TPMB N and exhibited signs of anemia. The study sample consisted of pregnant women willing to consume 200 cc of dragon fruit juice daily for a duration of 14 days. Bivariate data analysis was conducted using the Mann-Whitney Test. The intervention implemented involved administering dragon fruit juice, prepared by blending 200g of dragon fruit with 200cc of water and adding 3 tablespoons of sugar. The findings reveal a statistically significant difference in Hb levels among pregnant women before and after the consumption of dragon fruit juice, with a P value of 0.001.

Abstract

Stress is a situation in which an individual feels highly pressured. Numerous studies in the fields of psychology and health predominantly indicate that stress has a negative impact on health. An instrument for measuring stress levels using fuzzy logic methods is a tool used to gauge the level of anxiety or pressure experienced by individuals by observing parameters such as heart rate, body temperature, and blood pressure. Arduino Uno R3 is employed as a data processor, DS18B20 as a sensor for measuring body temperature, and MPX5050DP as a sensor for measuring heart rate and blood pressure. The results of these parameter measurements are then compared with a table that determines stress levels using the fuzzy method as a decision-making guide. Body temperature measurements using the DS18B20 sensor achieves an accuracy rate of 99.48%, while measurements of systolic and diastolic blood pressure and heart rate using the MPX5050DP sensor have accuracies of approximately 91.94%, 89.59%, and 96.7%, respectively. The calculation of stress levels using the fuzzy method operates effectively, with a success rate of 100%, in accordance with manually conducted fuzzy analysis.
