Abstract

Efforts to preserve the Sundanese script as a cultural heritage face challenges in the digital era, one of which is the limited resources for pattern recognition. This research aims to develop an effective custom Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model for the classification of handwritten Sundanese script. Facing the constraint of no available public dataset, this study utilizes a primary dataset (Swaraksara Dataset) created by the author, consisting of 6,500 handwritten images evenly distributed across 13 classes (combinations of the "Na" script with rarangkén). The methodology applied includes a comprehensive data preprocessing stage, covering grayscale conversion, resizing to 200x200 pixels, normalization, and data augmentation techniques to prevent overfitting. The custom CNN architecture was designed with five convolutional layers (filters 32 to 512) and the Adam optimizer. The experimental results show that the optimal configuration was achieved with a learning rate of 0.001 and 50 training epochs, resulting in very high model performance. In the evaluation using test data, the model achieved an accuracy of 99.54% with a loss value of 0.0175. The optimal performance of this model is driven by the quality of the primary dataset supported by comprehensive image preprocessing stages, thus ensuring clean, uniform, and significantly noise-free data input. Analysis of the confusion matrix and learning curves also confirmed the model's excellent generalization ability with no indications of overfitting. This model has been successfully implemented in the "Swaraksara" web application as a Sundanese script recognition system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and develop a web-based digital queuing system designed to significantly enhance the efficiency of banking services in the digital age. The urgent problem identified is the suboptimal management of customer queues, which frequently leads to prolonged waiting times and ultimately diminishes customer satisfaction with the bank's services. We constructed this system using the foundational web technologies of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, primarily targeting the creation of an interface that is user-friendly, visually comfortable, and accessible from any gadget. The research was conducted at Bank Nusantara Branch in Medan. The methodology involved direct observation of the current manual queuing process, coupled with brief discussions (interviews) with several customers and staff to accurately grasp the specific needs. The key contribution of this study is the successful creation of a comprehensive draft design for a digital queuing system, which can serve as a concrete guideline for other banks. This initial result presents a system draft enabling customers to take and monitor their queue position from anywhere. The expectation is that this solution will significantly cut waiting times and elevate the overall customer experience. As a concluding step, the system will undergo thorough testing and user satisfaction evaluation to ensure its readiness for actual implementation in the banking sector.

Abstract

The crucial problem facing modern urban areas is traffic congestion, which causes significant time, economic, and environmental losses. Manual identification of traffic density has proven to be inefficient and error-prone, especially at intersections with high real-time density fluctuations. This research aims to design and test a real-time vehicle detection system that is robust against environmental variability and capable of providing accurate predictions of density levels, contributing to the transformation of traffic management from reactive to predictive. As a solution, a traffic density detection and analysis system based on Deep Learning is proposed, utilizing an optimized YOLOv11 model, integrating Image Processing and a Neural Network. YOLOv11 is used to accurately detect and classify various types of vehicles from CCTV video footage, even in low-light conditions, and the results serve as input for the Adaptive Traffic Light Control Module based on the Density.Preliminary results from model training show very fast convergence, achieving a comprehensive accuracy (mAP@0.5) of 0.956 on the validation set in just 10 epochs. Although testing on new test data yielded an overall class mAP@0.5 of 0.631, the model demonstrated superior performance for detecting large vehicles, such as trucks (mAP@0.5 = 0.962) and cars (mAP@0.5 = 0.935). This system is expected to provide accurate traffic density information, enable adaptive traffic light settings, and ultimately contribute to intelligent traffic management systems.

Abstract

The balance between the number of nursing staff and workload is crucial to ensure the quality of healthcare services. A mismatch between staffing levels and workload can lead to fatigue, decreased performance, and reduced quality of care. This study aims to analyze the calculation of nursing staff requirements using the Workload Indicator of Staffing Need (WISN) method in the inpatient units of Mitra Guray Petumbukan General Hospital. The specific objectives are to determine the available working time, existing human resource categories, workload standards, allowance standards, and the number of nurses required based on actual workload. This research employs a quantitative descriptive method with an observational approach, involving 20 nurses as the sample. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document review of nursing activities, and analyzed using the WISN components, namely available working time, workload standards, and allowance factors. The results showed that the available working time was 3,132 hours per year, with an average of 9 nurses on the morning shift and 6 nurses on the night shift. The total staffing requirement based on the WISN calculation was 22.1 nurses, while the actual number of nurses was 20, resulting in a WISN ratio of 0.9, indicating a shortage of two nurses. The study concludes that the number of nurses in the inpatient units of Mitra Guray Petumbukan General Hospital is not yet fully balanced with the existing workload. It is recommended that the hospital add more nursing staff, organize work schedules more proportionally, and regularly evaluate workload to maintain the quality of nursing services.

Abstract

Cardiac arrhythmia is a heart rhythm disorder that can trigger serious cardiovascular conditions and significantly increase the risk of sudden cardiac death. Conventional arrhythmia detection processes still rely on the manual interpretation of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals by medical experts, which necessitates high precision and is time-consuming. Advancements in artificial intelligence, particularly in Deep Learning, have paved the way for the development of faster and more consistent automated detection systems. This study proposes an arrhythmia classification model based on a hybrid architecture combining Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Transformers. The CNN is utilized to extract spatial features from ECG signals, while the Transformer functions to capture temporal patterns within the signal sequences. The MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database was employed for training and validation, encompassing five heartbeat classes: Normal, Supraventricular, Ventricular, Fusion, and Unknown beats. Experimental results demonstrate that the model achieved a validation accuracy of 98%, accompanied by balanced precision, recall, and F1-scores for the majority class. Furthermore, the model demonstrated robustness in detecting critical minority classes, achieving a sensitivity (recall) of 93.7% for Ventricular beats and 57.1% for Supraventricular beats. This model was subsequently implemented into a web-based system to enable real-time and flexible ECG signal analysis. These findings indicate that the integration of CNN and Transformer effectively enhances arrhythmia detection accuracy, not only for majority classes but also for rare pathological classes.

Abstract

Traffic congestion is a major issue in urban and suburban areas such as Pamulang, South Tangerang, caused by increasing vehicle volume without proportional road infrastructure development. This study aims to predict traffic congestion levels using the Random Forest algorithm and identify the dominant factors influencing congestion. The research utilized the Smart Traffic Management Dataset containing 2,000 observations with 12 variables such as average speed, traffic volume, weather conditions, and accident reports. The analysis process included data cleaning, categorical variable encoding, data splitting (80% training and 20% testing), and model validation using the 5-fold cross-validation technique. The results showed that the Random Forest model achieved 95,75% accuracy, with a precision of 0.96 and recall of 0.96. The feature importance analysis indicated that the average vehicle speed variable had the highest influence on congestion levels, followed by traffic volume and accident reports. These findings demonstrate that the Random Forest algorithm is highly effective in identifying traffic patterns and can serve as a foundation for developing intelligent transportation systems in the Pamulang area to reduce congestion adaptively and in real time.
