Abstract

Driven by the e-commerce live broadcast, the irrational purchase phenomenon of consumers has become more and more prominent. Based on SOR theory and social identity theory, this paper builds an intermediary effect model by collecting 286 questionnaires, aiming to deeply explore the causes of consumers' irrational purchase behavior under the background of e-commerce live broadcast, and propose corresponding solutions. The results show that price promotion, anchor characteristics and live broadcast interactivity all have a positive impact on irrational purchase behavior, and consumers' purchase intention plays a partial mediating role in this process.

Abstract

Gesture is a unique nonverbal communication signal, whereby a person conveys a message or expresses himself through conscious or unconscious movements, body movements, and facial expressions" (Vijay, 2013). This study aims to analyze gestures and meaning based on the context of gestures supported by utterances. According to Sugiyono (2013: 13), this research employs a descriptive qualitative methodology. This study uses the theory of McNeil (2005) that classifies gestures into four types, namely Iconic, Deictic, Metaphor, and Beat. The data used in this research is in the form of screenshots taken from the movie "Everything Everywhere All at Once (20"2)" by Daniel. Four types of gestures are found in the movie, as the researcher has done in the analysis. There are 122 data found. There are 11 (9%) data as iconic gestures, 22 (18%) data as deictic gestures, 15 (12%) data as metaphor gestures, and 75 (61%) data as beat gestures. From the data analyzed, the meaning of the gesture is supported by the utterances in dialog (Semantic Meaning). Some gestures meaning is unclear if they are not accompanied or supported by semantic meaning or utterances. Meanwhile, some data do not have a cultural meaning and no relation to the semantic meaning, such as beat type. A beat gesture is a rhythm of speech as a compliment.

Abstract

One of the impacts of the replanting program is the cessation of production, which has implications for the loss of farmers' household sources of income. The production cycle in the business of annual crops greatly affects the profit that will be obtained by the farmer. More complicated challenges are faced by perennials than annuals because the time between investment, production, cost, and receipt of farming takes a long time in its implementation. This cross-sectional survey research aims to analyze the problems and socio-economic factors that determine the decision of oil palm farmers to participate in the rejuvenation of oil palm plantations in Jambi Province. This research was carried out in several villages which centered of smallholder oil palm plantations with a sample of 257 oil palm farmers who had old or damaged oil palm plants that had not been replanted or had been replanted. The respondents were selected by using the multistage sampling method. The instrument used is an open-ended questionnaire. The results showed that the farmer's level of readiness, assets, family size, dependency burden, sex ratio, and perception have a significant influence on the farmer's decision to replant oil palm. Abstract

This research aims to strengthen the MBKM ecosystem through the PPKS Task Force in all Indonesian universities, in accordance with Permendikbudristek Number 30 of 2021. This initiative supports the concept of Independent Learning Campus Independence with a focus on freedom, innovation and independence. Sexual violence was identified as a major obstacle to creating an inclusive learning environment. The PPKS Task Force, like at USU, UM, and UPR, is collaborating with Puspeka to provide training and use creative media such as comics and videos to increase students' understanding and awareness regarding this issue. However, participation in PPKS socialization is still minimal, and this research suggests increasing the use of creative media to disseminate information. This study was conducted at seven universities in six provinces of Indonesia, using the Participatory Action Research method with the active participation of students, lecturers and education staff. The development of creative media, such as short films and short stories, is field tested to strengthen understanding regarding PPKS and build an inclusive and healthy educational environment. The research findings demonstrate the urgency of addressing sexual violence in higher education and recommend a more targeted and comprehensive awareness campaign to increase understanding and participation in PPKS initiatives throughout Indonesia.

Abstract

The perception of the role of the court in democracy is a complex and frequently debated aspect of political systems. It involves how individuals, institutions, and society at large view the function, powers, and responsibilities of the judiciary within the broader democratic framework. The role of the court is deeply intertwined with the principle of separation of powers, which delineates distinct functions for the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. However, the perception of the court's role in shaping and influencing public policies is a subject of discussion, since the effectiveness of the court in a democracy is closely linked to public trust and legitimacy. Prominent researches argue that the court should actively contribute to policy development, while others believe that its primary function should be limited to interpreting and applying existing laws. As a result, debates often arise over the extent to which the court should exercise its power of judicial review. A perceived lack of impartiality, independence, or transparency can erode public trust, impacting the credibility of the court's decisions and its overall role in democratic governance. While courts have the authority to render judgments, their ability to enforce decisions and ensure compliance with the rule of law relies on the cooperation of other branches and societal actors. The research highlights contrasting viewpoints on the court's responsibility in safeguarding constitutional principles through the rejection of legislative and executive actions that contradict constitutional norms. The core issue revolves around the significance of this and whether it presents a potential threat by enabling the court to supersede decisions made by duly elected representatives of the public.

Abstract

This study explores the complex link between geopolitical variables and Afghanistan's power as a nation, providing an important context for understanding Afghanistan's place in the world. The importance of national unity is shown by our findings since 96% of respondents agree that it is important. This highlights the Afghan people's historical fortitude in the face of outside pressures and internal strife. The analysis highlights several other significant geopolitical factors in addition to national unity, such as leadership, Aryan culture, human resources, and geographic position. Together, these elements plus Afghanistan's historical, cultural, and physical background shape the country's might. Notably, despite their historical significance, religion, and natural resources were seen as having less of an impact, defying accepted beliefs about their influence. The study also emphasizes how Afghanistan's national power is dynamic, with new geopolitical components like "Aryan culture" and "quality of diplomacy" becoming significant players in the changing geopolitical environment. In conclusion, this study sheds light on the intricate web of geopolitical variables supporting Afghanistan's sovereignty. The cornerstones of the nation's strength are its unity and a variety of historical, cultural, and geographical elements. Comprehending these dynamics is imperative to apprehend Afghanistan's position in the international sphere and to formulate strategies that augment its stability and sway.
