Abstract

The big role of school principals in supporting the improvement of the quality of education should be reviewed comprehensively and completely based on problems in the school. That since March 16, 2020 the government has called for learning to be carried out online. So, the change so quickly in the way of learning is surprising for both teachers and students, various problems arise. So that the school also began to anticipate participating in finding solutions to anticipate problems that occur in online learning. There are 3 direct policies simultaneously that we must implement in a situation of learning crisis at that time, namely social restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic forcing online learning, independent learning without the UN so that students can assess student competencies in the form of written tests or other more comprehensive forms of assessment, such as portfolios and assignments (group assignments, written papers, etc.), curriculum in special conditions or emergency curriculum, schools can use a curriculum that suits the learning needs of students. This situation is discussed in this paper, the efforts of Public Vocational High School 11 Malang to supervise to improve online learning that was previously completely unprepared. Suddenly, all teachers should do online learning using IT media, repairs can be made quickly and effectively during the pandemic.

Abstract

Danau Sadar Village is a village located in the sub-district of Dusun Selatan, 8 km from Buntok, the capital of South Barito Regency. This village has several potentials such as rubber plantation, livestock sector, tourism, and fisheries sector. Even though this potential is quite remarkable, the citizen welfare is still in low catagories due to the lack of skill in managing it. This condition happened because not all workers are engaged in the production process. Related to the condition of the community in Danau Sadar Village, an idea emerged to empower the community, by providing training to improve their skills. The objectives of community service in Danau Sadar Village are as follows: (1) assisting the people of Danau Sadar Village in developing economic independence; (2) improving entrepreneurial skills through the training provided. The community service program has been successful by carrying out two types of training activities to improve citizen welfare: training on biogas reactors from manure and brick making to obtain optimal products in terms of production costs and quality. The citizen in Danau Sadar Village welcomes this community service program. They hope that Palangka Raya University will carry out the community service program regularly in their village.

Abstract

The research aims at developing a guidebook for designing interactive distance learning for lecturers, considering that lecturers need guidance on how to design a learning implementation process that remains interactive in a full online learning system during the Covid 19 pandemic. The development of a guidebook stage adopted the model of Dick & Carey which modified into 4 stages, namely stages; (1) requirement analysis; (2) product design; (3) validation and evaluation; and (4) product revision. Based on development result, data found as follows; (1) the expert's assessment shows that the guidebook is included in the criteria of "very good" from the media aspect (94.44%) and "good" from the material aspect (86.11%) hence the guidebook can be used in learning; (2) test results on a small group shows that the product developed include in the criteria of “good” (83,33%) hence the guidebook can be used in learning; (3) field test result that the product developed include in the criteria of “good” (89,28%) hence the guidebook can be used in learning. Key words: Interactive learning, distance learning

Abstract

Community empowerment activities in general aim to form individuals and communities to become independent. Independence is a condition experienced by a person which is characterized by the ability to think, decide and do something that is deemed appropriate in order to achieve solving the problems faced by using the power/ability possessed. The training activities aim to equip participants with metal welding skills. The activity was carried out at the Mechanical Engineering Education Laboratory, FKIP UPR. The purpose of these activities is in line with the higher education functions and objectives mandated in Law no. 12 of 2012 Article 4 paragraph 3; namely to "Develop Science and Technology by paying attention to and applying the values of Humanities". With this activity, it is hoped that participants will have more knowledge about metal welding. The training methods used are lectures with presentation techniques, direct guided practice and evaluation.

Abstract

Concrete is one of the materials that is widely used in various structural works because it has advantages, especially it has high compressive strength and is easy to form. However, concrete can also be damaged by physical, chemical, mechanical and excessive loads. Damaged concrete structures must be repaired and strengthened immediately to prevent further damage that can lead to structural failure. One of the materials that can be used for structural reinforcement is Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP). FRP is a composite material made of three basic components, namely fiber, polymer and additives. FRP has advantages such as having high strength, light weight, corrosion resistance, easy installation, requiring little or no scaffolding. FRP is very well used to increase the capacity of structures in buildings that are undergoing changes in function

Abstract

The competition of working world in the industrial revolution era 4.0 requires many countries to improve themselves in producing the quality of human resources. Therefore, vocational education institutions as producers of workforce that ready to work have to produce the top notch output. This demand have to be immediately reflected and implemented in formal education and training programs. By the existence of laboratory, students are able to do anything to learn and practice their skills due to the characteristics of vocational education are more underlined in the development of learners' psychomotor aspects. Hence, the existence of laboratory has a crucial role for vocational education in order to enhance the quality of vocational education thus the improvement of vocational program quality for final graduates are achieved greatly.

Abstract

At present days stakeholders require the graduates who have the technical skills (Hardskill) as well possess the soft skills. The Hardskills are just not sufficient to deal with the qualification of employers in the real-world of workplace, but need to be equipped with soft skills in order to shape the integrated capabilities as needed by users. To form the student’s soft skills can be implemented through the coaching program in formal learning activities and extracurricular activities. The softskill development of students is necessary to be achieved with concrete efforts, namely: 1) the existence of policies that legalize the implementation of soft skill based on the extracurricular activities in each education unit; 2) systematic and planned soft skills development program; and 3) the softskill dissemination is carried out synergistically involving all parties.

Abstract

As been coming ages, modern technology integrates into every life aspect including in field survey. Nowadays, one of the modern technology namely Global Positioning System (GPS). The GPS system was first developed by the US Department of Defense used for both military and civilian purposes. This system is designed to provide threedimensional position, speed, and information about world which is not affected by time and weather. Presently, GPS has been widely used by people all over the world who is need information about position, speed or time. To determine the coordinates of points on earth, the receiver requires at least 4 satellites to capture the signal correctly with the coordinates obtained referring to the global datum such World Geodetic System 1984 (WGS'84). GPS is divided into 3 types: Type of navigation or handheld, generally used in battle field or navigation purposes. Some vehicles have been equipped with GPS for navigation aids by adding a map to guide the rider thus rider know which pathway should be chosen to arrived at the destination. GPS mapping is a GPS tool used to calculate an area or create an important route in transit. Type Mapping has an accuracy level between 1-3 meters and mapping types require a base station serving to receive satellite signals and transmit them to a GPS receiver. Geodetic type is the most meticulous and most sophisticated type than navigation or mapping because it has a level of accuracy below 1 meter. The price of geodetic type is most expensive.
