Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of photosynthesis learning by using the modified Ingenhousz Experiment Tool that was made by researchers. The subjects in this study were students of SMP Negeri 4 Palangka Raya, grade VIII-3 Academic Year 2019/2020, with the total number of 23 students, consisting of 14 men and 9 women. Data collection for learning effectiveness was by using knowledge test sheets, performance and activities tests, while for learning efficiency by calculating the use of time in learning, product tests and questionnaires. Data on the effectiveness and efficiency of learning in the meeting-I and meeting-II were compared to determine the improvement. Based on the results of research, obtained that the use of the Ingenhousz Experiment Tool in photosynthesis learning resulted in an increase in learning outcomes, namely the average grade for knowledge rose from 56.69 to 80.86. Grade completeness increased from 34% to 90%. For the skills to carry out the experiment, the average grade increased from 63.00 to 78.52 and grade completeness skills rose from 22% to 95.65%. While for the average value of student activity increased from 2.57 to 2.85 in the good category. The ability of students to make Ingenhousz experimental equipment was 76.21 which was included in a good category, while the students' response to the learning process reached of 89%, which meant that the response of students was very good. The time spent could also be saved from 60 minutes to 45 minutes with the above results. It could be concluded that the modified Ingenhousz Experiment Tool increased the effectiveness and efficiency of the implementation of photosynthesis learning in grade VIII-3 of SMP Negeri 4 Palangka Raya

Abstract

Palangka Raya City, one of the candidates for Indonesia's capital city, has made Palangka Raya develop very rapidly. The development of the City encourages an increase in population. Therefore, planning for clean water needs for Palangka Raya City is needed. Calculation of projected population growth using the Least Square Method. Calculation of domestic clean water needs and non-domestic water needs using the standards of the Directorate General of Human Settlements. In addition to calculating the need for clean water, calculating the availability of water until 2037. Water quality distribution of PDAM Palangka Raya City has met the requirements for class B standards, namely water that can be used as raw material for drinking water. PDAM Kota Palangka Raya has an existing intake of 200 liters / second, according to projection calculations using the linear regression method it is found that the need for clean water by 2037 is 1060.2 liters / second and the availability of water is 2877 liters / second until 2037, it can be said to in 2037 the need for clean water is fulfilled.

Abstract

PDAM Tirta Kahayan of Palangkaraya city has a technical problem regarding with inadequate service standard (coverage level). As a result from the direct observations at the service area of PDAM Tirta Kahayan of Palangka Raya city, there were numerous public complaints related to PDAM services, especially the issue on fees, debit and distributed water pressure. Lossing water in PDAM Palangka Raya City ranges from 23% -35%. The aims of this study is to identify the condition of the pipeline distribution network of PDAM Tirta Kahayan in Palangka Raya City, to evaluate the debit distribution patterns and pressure on pipeline network of PDAM Tirta Kahayan Palangka Raya City by simulating the Epanet 2.0 program and to compare the simulation results with the exiting conditions, moreover to analyze the improvement alternatives debit and pressure on distribution piping networks. Based on the results of the simulation of Epanet 2.0 program there are still some locations that have debits and flow rates below 0.3 LPS. This is due to differences in elevation, the distance which is getting much more apart from the service source and mismatching of the pipe dimension. The improvement alternatives that have been made are by installing booster pumps in several locations that aim to increase the flow and flow velocity, continuous reservoir filling and regulation of distribution pump operation; therefore the water pressure is always maintained.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the effect of the concentration of urea fertilizer (Ammonium Sulfate) on the manufacturing of Nata De Pina. This trial aims to compare different concentrations of urea (Ammonium Sulfate) fertilizer. The parameter observed was the weight of Nata De Pina. This research was conducted in six stages, namely: (1) preparing pineapple, (2) fineness, (3) cooking, (4) cooling, (5) addition of acetobacter xylinum and fermentation, (6) harvesting and measurement of Nata De Pina . Based on the research, it was produced that the way to make Nata De Pina can be done by preparing ripe pineapple fruit and cleaning it and then cutting it into small pieces and mashed using a blender to extract the pineapple juice. When blended, the ratio between pineapple and water is 1 kg of pineapple with 1 liter of water. Then, filtered to take water or pineapple juice. In addition, other ingredients are also used in the cooking process such as urea fertilizer (Ammonium Sulfate) with different concentrations, sugar, glacial acetic acid, and acetobacter xylinum bacteria. After all the ingredients have been prepared, then do the cooking with a small flame. If it boils, add all the other ingredients except the acetobacter xylinum bacterium and leave it for 2-3 minutes after which the baking sheet is prepared to cool down, when the Nata De Pina solution has cooled down, put in 10 ml of acetobacter xylinum bacteria. After that, the surface of the baking sheet is tightly closed using newspaper and allowed to stand for 14 days for the fermentation process to become a Nata De Pina product. Then the harvesting process of Nata De Pina is carried out and the weight is measured. Nata De Pina with greater weight parameters and good quality is shown in Nata De Pina with the highest concentration of urea (ammonium sulphate) fertilizer, which is 2.5 grams. So in this case, the concentration of urea (Ammonium Sulfate) fertilizer suitable for making Nata De Pina is 2.5 grams.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the influence of peat water on the mechanical properties of the paving block (compressive strength and water absorption) using coconut shell waste and fly ash as raw material. The background of the research were the lack utilization of fly ash, preparation for the handling and utilization of fly ash from power station at Pulang Pisau and Tumbang Kajuei (under construction), and the utilization of coconut shell to be more effective and economical. Paving block specimens were immersed in peat water to determine the effect of peat water and the rest were immersed in plain water. This experiment used fly ash as a partial replacement of cement and 2% coconut shell as a partial replacement of fine aggregate. The results of the analysis showed that: (a) Paving block using fly ash and coconut shells which were immersed in plain water experienced the increase in compressive strength and the decrease in water; (b) Paving block using fly ash and coconut shells soaked in peat water showed that by the increase of age, compressive strength was decrease and water absorption was increase; (c) The compressive strength of paving block specimens immersed in plain water and peat water showed relatively similar values at 7 and 28 days age, (d). Water absorption in paving block specimens soaked both in plain water and peat water showed relatively similar values at 7 days age, but at 28 days age the specimens immersed in peat water had greater water absorption.
