Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the requirement of flexural reinforcement area between square beams and T beams. This study is using a space frame as a model with geometric shapes and symmetric loading. The requirement of flexural reinforcement needs is reviewed on the selfweight of structures, live loads and combined loads with the variations of steel yield strenght (fy) of 300 MPa, 350 MPa and 400 MPa. The result of this study indicate that the calculation of the requirement of the flexural reinforcement area which only takes into account the selfweight of the structure or live load gives the same result for square beams and T beams. However it gives different results for the combination load. The requirement of the flexural reinforcement area for T beam is 4% less than square beam. The analysis result is showing that the higher quality of steel used the needs of the area of reinforcement will reduce. The reduction that occurs for each variation of steel yield strength both on square beams and T beams is about 16.67%.

Abstract

Manganese clay had been synthesized as a water filter in order to find out how the quality of water by using parameters such as pH, concentration of iron (Fe), TSS (Total Suspended Solid) and turbidity in the water of Kahayan River before and after filtering it. The first step of Synthesizing the manganese clay was done bycalcining the natural clayat700 ° C for 3 hours, then it was soaked by applying MnCl2 solution of 5 g / L at 60 ° C for 12 hour; the second phase that itwas washed in order to remove its chloride ions, after that, it was dried at 80 ° C for 3 hours, then it was soaked by applying KMnO4 solution with concentration of 5 g / L at 60 ° C for 24 hours, then the clay was washed. Other supporting filters which were also used in the filtration processes, namely sand and gravel. Based on the result findings, before filtering the water, its quality was pH 5.5;Fe concentration of 2.16 mg / L, TSS of 258 mg / L;and turbidity of 140 NTU. After filtering the water by using manganese clay, the quality of Kahayan water is qualified to the requirements of clean water as inPermenkes No. 907/Menkes/VII/2002, thatthe parameters pH is 6.5; Fe concentration of 2.16 mg / L TSS 108 mg / L;and turbidity of 11.97 NTU. It is suggested that manganese clay can be used as a water filter Kahayan river for the alternative water suppy in Kalimantan Tengah.

Abstract

This Research provides results of a study on the conditions of the rental flats on Palangka Raya Study Case of Sesepmadu. Here, conditions of a facility are the facility’s states of being capable of performing its intended functions. As a fundamental step in the study, this part of research provides information that should enable further steps to solving problems hampering the facilities’ full utilisation. The single block of the building consists of 96 type-21 flats. Despite being inhabited only 4 years ago, the facility has already shown decreases in its conditions. Those are related among others to the sanitary system, security, and maintenance system. Further, with the occupancy level being disturbingly low, its relation to the current conditions has been hypothesised. Perception of the residents is that there are some conditions of facilities flat are still far from expectations, the smoothness of the access roads around the neighborhood flat, area residential units flat, facilities clothes line rental public housing, clean water facilities flat, waste water disposal flat, means landfills flat, the services of the management and the participation of government in terms of management and maintenance of rental public housing facilities. It is therefore important for a future research to examine the supposed relationship and to develop an approach to improving the conditions.

Abstract

This district of Katigan is a small part of the entire area and land surveys for the purposes of paddy field printing of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Agriculture Office. This activity aims to find the feasibility of irrigation potential that will flow through the paddy fields that have been in clean and clear condition in terms of the area, included in the category of decent land for rice crops, and the existence of adequate water sources to flow the rice fields. The water requirement for plants is basically obtainable directly from the rain water, the rainfall each season will not be the same. Therefore, we need a way to manage water with a need to manage water optimally, one of them is the use of irrigation system. The planned irrigation system for the Katingan irrigation area and its surroundings is a gravity irrigation system. The irrigation network used is a technical irrigation network. The total irrigation area is 218.75 Ha. The planned plot is 3 plots with the area of each plot between 68.75 ha to 75 Ha. The water requirement per hectare before adjusting to the efficiency of each channel is planned to be 1.2 ltr/s/ ha.

Abstract

Indonesia as a developing country with an unstable demographic condition is reflected in an uncontrolled population growth rate. The severity of the large population is not accompanied by improvement and good economic growth. Impaired economic conditions further increase the poverty rates in Indonesia which impacts on the degradation of physical and non-physical conditions of life and livelihoods of the community which is clearly and clearly reflected in the declining quality of the environment in which people live. Even the worst is the formation of slums or slums. Slum areas in Kapuas Regency are dominant in the riverbanks. In accordance with the slum area criteria that the area has irregular, densely populated, unsuitable quality of buildings, and are not equipped with proper utilities (roads, clean water, waste water, drainage and waste disposal) with community income levels the low one. Handling the Problem of Slum Settlements is part of the anticipation of urban impacts from the improvement of the function of the region into a center of growth and to plan the space of more humane settlements in the future. Less-integrated and less targeted housing and settlements, and less attention to the completeness of basic infrastructure and facilities such as clean water, sanitation, waste management systems and rain drainage channels, will tend to degrade environmental quality or later be terminated as "Slums Area".
