Abstract

This study reveals the problem of feed waste in UMKM Kalijaga Farm where out of every 30 kg of feed bundles, 10 kg are not eaten. The grass chopper machine was designed using the QFD and Kano methods and the use of a gasoline engine as a driver was chosen because it is efficient and easy to maintain, suitable for remote locations without electricity, so it supports operations and increases farmer profits. The designed machine measures 80×50×100 cm, uses SKD-11 steel blades and thick iron plates for durability. Kano classification produces 2 must be attributes, 4 indifferent, 1 attractive, and 1 dimensional. For mobility, the machine is equipped with iron pipe handles on both sides and two bottom wheels. The HPP analysis shows a decrease in operational costs from IDR 115,100,000 to IDR 103,600,000, increasing the profit of UMKM Kalijaga Farm from IDR 29,400,000 to IDR 42,000,000.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of project scheduling for conveyor table top chain production at CV. XYZ using Critical Path Method (CPM). The study was motivated by frequent project delays in 2024, causing late deliveries and cost overruns. CPM identified the critical path as activities A–B–C–E–F–G–H–I–J–K–L–M–N, with one activity (Incoming Check Material) having slack. CPM estimated the project duration at 127 days of on-time completion. The findings show that CPM methode significantly improves time efficiency in project execution.

Abstract

PT. SKI produces GoClink liquid soap but faces challenges in detergent production, especially during mixing, which uses a semi-automatic tool. Mixing and stirring take about 43 minutes for 80 liters per day, done by 2 operators with poor ergonomic posture (REBA score 10). This study designs an automatic mixer (Automix-Liquid Soap) based on anthropometry and ergonomics to boost capacity, speed up production, and reduce operator workload. Methods include field observation, Stopwatch Time Study, REBA evaluation, design based on anthropometric data from 5 workers, and investment feasibility analysis using Net Present Value (NPV). Results show mixing time improved by 71.2%, cutting 184.54 seconds (from 259.14 to 74.60 seconds), and stirring time improved by 71.3%, reducing 1,667.34 seconds (from 2,338.2 to 670.86 seconds). Capacity rose to 180 liters, REBA score improved to 2, and labor efficiency increased by 50%. An investment of Rp10,589,625 is financially viable with a positive NPV of Rp20,372,845.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze workload and working time to optimize the production process. CV. XYZ is a small and medium enterprise that produces soy sauce. This company faces obstacles in meeting demand due to limited labor, manual production processes, and high workload and imbalanced distribution. Measuring the level of physical workload using the Cardiovascular Load (CVL) Method and energy consumption found fatigue in the boiling process, filling process and packaging process, while measuring standard time using the Work Sampling method produces a time of 112.42 seconds for each bottle. optimization Workload Analysis (WLA) recommended decreasing the number of labeling employees from 9 to 4 workers and raising the number of packing employees from 3 to 8 workers. The study comes to the conclusion that either more workers or longer workdays are needed to increase productivity. The goal of these suggestions is to promote sustainable production capacity.

Abstract

Noise is a major issue in industrial environments, including at PT. XYZ, which manufactures sack and woven bags. The production process involves machines that generate high noise levels, potentially causing hearing loss among workers. This study aims to analyze and map noise levels in the work area and recommend appropriate control measures. Data were collected using the grid lines method at 18 points with a Sound Level Meter and mapped using Golden Surfer software. Results show that several locations exceeded the 85 dB threshold set by the Ministry of Manpower, with the highest level of 99.1 dB found in the Circular Loom area. Risk analysis was conducted to evaluate health impacts, and noise control strategies were developed based on the hierarchy of controls, including elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative measures, and the use of personal protective equipment.

Abstract

UD XYZ is experiencing delays in the construction of the mosque dome due to increased market demand and design complexity. Previously, the company used the bar chart method, which was less effective in depicting the relationships between activities and identifying the critical path. Therefore, this study proposes an alternative approach using the PERT and CPM methods to improve project scheduling efficiency. The analysis results show that the CPM method successfully identified the critical path in activities A-B-C-D-K-M-N-O-P. Meanwhile, the PERT method estimates the project to be completed in 73 days with a 50% probability, and 74 days with an 80% probability.

Abstract

CV. Barokah Metal is a business engaged in the motorcycle spare parts manufacturing industry in the form of planers. Every day it is targeted to produce 60 dozen. However, sometimes consumer demand cannot be met. One of the reasons for not meeting the target is influenced by the performance and consistency of each worker, so it is necessary to determine the standard time using the stopwatch time study method in order to maximize workers in completing their work. After calculating, the standard time for operator 1 was 34.17 seconds, operator 2 33.89 seconds, operator 3 11.49 seconds, operator 4 38.96 seconds, operator 5 7.66 seconds, operator 6 46.40 seconds, operator 7 25.39 seconds, operator 8 33.17 seconds, and operator 9 60.45 seconds. The number of workers needed to meet the demand is 12 people, by adding 1 worker each for operator 4, operator 6 and operator 9.

Abstract

Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a department of material & service provision at JOB Pertamina – Medco E&P Tomori Sulawesi. Data from each material has been entered into (SAP) such as material type, weight and material dimension size. To find out the dimensions of the incoming material, manual measurements are still carried out. Redesigning the digital bench scale by adding the function of measuring the dimensions of goods so that they can be displayed automatically via a liquid crystal display (LCD). The Kano method classifies the attributes of the digital bench scale by adding the function of measuring the dimensions of goods. From the results of the research on the redesign of the digital bench scale, 5 trials of the designed tool, there was a difference in the distance between manual and automatic measurements of around 0.2-1.5 cm which was caused by the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor which was not precise.

Abstract

Inefficient material handling can lead to increased production time, higher operational costs, and a greater risk of product damage. UD. X is a manufacturing company that produces motorcycle spare parts and is currently experiencing inefficiencies in its facility layout, resulting in suboptimal material flow. This study aims to redesign the facility layout to improve the efficiency of the material handling system. The methods used include the From-To Chart (FTC) for analyzing material movement between workstations, as well as discrete event simulation to evaluate the performance of layout alternatives. Data collected includes inter-departmental distances, frequency of material movement, process time, and total material travel distance. The results show that the proposed layouts successfully reduce material travel distance and handling costs. The best alternative achieved a total travel distance of 1080.05 meters and a material handling cost of Rp27,954.

Abstract

PT. XYZ has problems in supplying large amounts of activated carbon to large companies; so far the company still relies on third-party expedition services to rent trailer trucks for its deliveries. To address this issue, we conducted an investment feasibility analysis using the capital budgeting method for truck procurement. The results of the analysis show that investment in the UD Quester GDE280 Euro 5 truck is feasible. The payback period (PP) was recorded at 3.91 months, the net present value (NPV) was Rp9,581,482,520, and the internal rate of return (IRR) reached 40.66%, far exceeding the minimum attractive rate of return (MARR) of 8.53%. The Profitability Index (PI) was also positive at 13.28%, and operational cost efficiency showed potential savings of 33.31%. Based on these indicators, the investment in truck procurement is not only financially feasible but also able to significantly increase the company's operational efficiency.
