Abstract

This study aims to determine the principal's transformational leadership style used by SMP Negeri 2 Medan and the Performance of Teachers. The population in this study were all teachers in SMP Negeri 2 Medan. As a sample taken the entire study population using total sampling techniques. From the results of the study note that there is a positive relationship between the principal's transformational leadership style with the performance of teachers in SMP Negeri 2 Medan in the amount of rxy = 0.471 > 0.266. So from the hypothesis test results above it can be said that there is a relationship between Work Motivation and Teacher Job Satisfaction in An-Nizam Islamic Elementary School, where robserve > rtable (0.471 > 0.266) hypothesis is accepted with the meaning Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected if r observe < rtable. This level of relationship is included in the Medium level relationship interval.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to produce teaching material for Macroeconomics Theory. The Research and Development (R&D) method by Borg and Gall was used in this study. The population of this study was all Economic Education Study Program’s students who took Macroeconomics courses in 2019. The sample was determined by using the purposive random sampling principle and the sample class made for the implementation and limited testing of small sample was Class C of Economic Education. Based on the result of the study, it was decided that the teaching material for Macroeconomics Theory that has been validated by 2 expert validators had a very high level of eligibility (88.75%) provided revisions were needed. After it has been fully revised, the material was tested to all 30 students of Class C of Economic Education during Macroeconomics Theory course. Based on the testing conducted to the small sample, it showed that there was a significant improvement of the learning outcomes before and after the blended-learning based teaching material was implemented. The result was all the user-friendliness, usability, and time effectiveness factor have an average value ≥4. It can be concluded that the book being developed has met the readability and practicality criteria. The study was only conducted up to stage 7 -producing the teaching material of revision draft.

Abstract

The aims of this study is to find out the feasibility of comic media on narrative texts based on local wisdom. The research was conducted in the second semester 2018/2019. The subjects in this study were students of VII grade  of Junior High School (SMPN) 1 Kotapinang. The results of the material expert validation on the feasibility of material aspects gained an average of 89.37% with the category "Very Good", the aspect of language feasibility obtained an average of 83.33% with the category "Very Good", the feasibility of presentation aspects obtained an average of 89, 58% with the category "Very Good. The results of the validation from the illustrated expert obtained an average of 100% with the category "Very Good", while the results of the validation of the design of the learning media from the visual appearance aspect obtained an average of 80.28% with the category "Good", while from the aspect of design learning obtained on average 75% with the category "Good". Therefore, comic media in narrative texts based on local wisdom are developed for VII Grade Students of Junior High School (SMPN) 3 Kotapinang that are suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

This study was aimed to find out whether or not Teaching Prewriting Stages can improve students’ ability in writing descriptive paragraphs, to describe the role of prewriting stages in helping the students to write descriptive paragraphs. This study was conducted by using Classroom Action Research. It was done through 1) planning, 2) action, 3) observation, and 4) reflection. The population and the sample was the ninth grade students of SMP Swasta BUDISATRYA at 2018/2019 academic year. This research applied quantitative and qualitative method. Quantitative data were taken from the students' writing descriptive paragraph test. Qualitative data were taken from observation, interview, and diary notes. The result of the research shows that there was some improvement of students’ ability in writing descriptive paragraphs through teaching prewriting stages. It can be proved from the students' score which improved from cycle 1 to cycle 2.  The improvement can be seen that in pre test the means score was 33.52. In the first cycle, meeting 1 the means score was 37.35, in meeting 2 was 42.64 and in meeting 3 was 52.64. In the second cycle, meeting 1 the means score was 64,41,  in meeting 2 was 80 and in meeting 3 was 91.17. The improvement also can be seen from the percentage of the students’ achievement in writing descriptive paragraph by using prewriting stage; in pre test, no one of the students got 75 points. In the first cycle, in meeting 1, and meeting 2, there was also no one student got 75 point,  but in meeting 3 there was 23,52% (8 students) got 75 points. It means there was an improvement about 23.52 % . In the second cycle, in meeting 1 there was 29.41% (10 students) got 75 points, it means that there was an improvement about 5.89%. In meeting 2 there was 79.41% (27 students) got 75 points, it means that there was an improvement about 50%.  In meeting 3 there was 100% (34 students) got up 75 points. It means that prewriting stages helped the students to write descriptive paragraphs through brainstorming, listing supporting point, making a simple outline to write event, place or object related to the topic. So, the students’ achievement in writing descriptive paragraph is significantly improved by applying prewriting stage.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Analyze children's creativity development programs; (2) Analyzing children's creativity in learning planning; (3) Analyzing children's creativity in the learning process; and (4) Analyzing the description of children's creativity based on the results of the evaluation of learning. This research was conducted at PAUD Darul Fathonah Medan Marelan District. The subjects in this study were the principal, teachers and children in PAUD (Early Childhood Education) Darul Fathonah. The data collection in this study through observation, interviews and documentation. While the data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that: (1) The development of children's creativity is carried out through creativity development programs in the form of extracurricular activities, peak theme activities, performing arts, out bonding, learning activities outside the classroom, competitions between Kindergarten (TK)/PAUD and tourist visits. This development program is made by the principal and teachers as well as support from parents and students who aim to develop children's creativity; (2) Teachers use learning methods and make RPPH that refers to semester programs, weekly programs and daily programs, structuring materials and play tools that will be used in creativity development activities that are adapted to the growth and development of children and children's learning needs; (3) Teachers and children are directly involved in learning which is supported by the use of media and Educational Game Tools (to make it easier for teachers to convey learning and make it easier for children to accept learning and provide motivation to children so that children become more enthusiastic in learning activities; and (4) Evaluation of learning is done by way of conversation, observation, anecdotes, and work. Based on the results of observations the evaluation of the child is still in the range of BB and MB grades because it is still in the learning process in the odd semester and the child still needs help and motivation from the teacher.

Abstract

This research deals with the development of teaching material in writing fable story texts with children's film assistance for grade vii in junior high school 6 Tambusai Utara Rokan Hulu Riau, 2018/2019. Teaching material of fable story text with children's film assistance are designed according to the development and age of students so that they can contribute to the emotional and moral development of students. The sample of this study were 32 students of seventh grade of in junior high school 6 Tambusai Utara Rokan Hulu Riau. The conclusion was teaching material with children's film assistance which developed can train students to learn independently with minimal help from the teacher. The role of the teacher is only as a facilitator who guides and directs students to learning fable story texts.

Abstract

   This study aims to determine how the effect of STAD learning model assisted by autograph software on mathematical communication skills and mathematical dispositions in terms of gender. The sample used in this study is Senior High School PAB 4. With the method of data collection literature study. The method used is literature study. The results of this study indicate that the overall STAD learning model assisted by autograph software has an effect on mathematical communication skills and mathematical dispositions, this can be seen from the results of previous studies and strengthened by the theories of experts.

Abstract

The study deals with the effectiveness of teaching materials based on local culture on 7th grade students in junior high school Sipirok. The study was conducted at one of Junior High Schools 1 in Sipirok located in South Tapanuli Regency. Student learning outcomes are obtained by providing a trial test using instructional materials that have been developed which aims to see the extent to which increased student understanding of the Sipirok local culture-based text description learning material by using teaching materials developed in this study. Student learning outcomes based on pretest and posttest show the difference in the difference from pretest to posttest the score obtained 10.42 with an average pretest 75.65 on the criteria of "good" and an average posttest of 90.8 on the criteria of "very good". It can be concluded that learning using on Sipirok local culture-based text descriptions can improve student learning outcomes in Indonesian language subjects especially description text material.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) how to implement cooperative script learning strategies on historical aspects in Islamic Education subjects, (2) what are the supporting factors in implementing cooperative script learning strategies on historical aspects in Islamic Education subjects, and (3) what are the inhibiting factors in implementing cooperative script learning strategies on historical aspects in the subject of Islamic Education. The research method used is qualitative. Data collection techniques are observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by the stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The data validity was done by using the data validity technique using triangulation, namely: source, method, investigator, and theory. The research findings show: (1) the implementation of the cooperative script learning strategy has been carried out well, it's just that there are several steps in the learning process that have not been maximally implemented, (2) the supporting factors in the implementation of the cooperative script learning strategy are the support of the principal, the class conditions comfortable, complete facilities and infrastructure, enthusiastic attitude of students, and rewards from the teacher, and (3) inhibiting factors for the implementation of cooperative script learning strategies, namely: less time, a large number of students, and the condition of students who are less conducive, lack of concentration and ability different students.

Abstract

This study was carried out to investigate the extent of parental-school involvement on pupils’ academic performance in Anambra State. Four research questions and four null hypotheses guided the study. It adopted a descriptive survey research design. Two research questions guided the study. The population of the study consisted of 10,369 primary school teachers and 65,406 parents in Anambra state. The sample size for the study comprised of 736 which made up of 172 primary school teachers and 564 parents whose children/wards are in primary schools in Awka North, Awka south, Anambra, Dunukofia and Njikoka local Government Education Authorities were selected using multi-stage sampling. Data were collected using two structured questionnaires titled “Teachers Response on Parental School Involvement Questionnaire (TRPSIQ) and parent’s response on school involvement questionnaire (PRSIQ). The TRPSIQ and PRSIQ was validated by three experts. The reliability of the instrument was determined using Cronbach Alpha which yielded an overall co-efficient of 0.83. mean was used to answer the research questions while standard deviation was used to check the closeness of the respondent’s response to the mean. The findings revealed that teachers and parents rated to a great extent parental involvement in child home-school communication and school volunteering for improvement in pupil’s academic performance. Based on the findings, the researcher recommended among others that schools should create good communication language style that will foster close interaction between the parents and the child as well as the parents and the schools.
