Abstract

In this chapter, we have tried to show that the vocabulary of English is in reaality a collection of ‘vocabularies’. While all speakers off the language share a ‘common core’ of words, each one also has access, either solely as a reader/ listener, or additionally as a writer / speaker, to a number of ‘specialist vocabularies’. The specialist vocabularies can be identified along a number of dimensions of variation of variation, including: geography, giving national and regional (dialect) varieties; occupation and interest, giving ‘jargons’; sub- culture, giving types of ‘slang’; and formality. The chapter concluded with a brief look at restricted languages, such as those used for air and sea navigation.

Abstract

The electricity export-import scheme using rooftop solar PV by PLN customers, commonly known as net metering or net billing, was not attractive because it was only valued at 0, 65:1 for each price of electricity sold to the price of electricity in general. In mid-2021, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will revise the provisions on the export of electricity by valuing 1:1 for each electricity price sold. However, changing the export-import scheme can eliminate compensation for the cost of storing consumer electricity which PLN will bear in the future. At this time, the emergence of more proactive consumers with production and storage capabilities in the context of renewable energy, in other words, "prosumers", can bring new opportunities or challenges for the operation of energy systems in the electricity market environment. Recently, the Peer-to-Peer Energy (P2P) system has been one of the new recommendations for the design and operation of the electricity market. This mechanism allows customers to trade their electricity directly to their neighbours through a P2P service provider platform. The absence of research related to the elaboration of business models that can encourage the implementation of P2P and, in the future, the benefits of P2P itself to be channelled properly encourages this research to analyze the business model that will be offered from the side of P2P service providers in the form of startup companies. In this study, nine elements of the Business Model Canvas (BMC) are used as guidelines for implementing P2P platform service providers based on Rooftop Solar PVs for residential areas in Indonesia. Offered. From the consumer side, this research describes the Value Proposition Canvas (VPC), which can help consumers know when consumers will get what they want and what difficulties they will face with a P2P platform in the future. In addition, from the service provider's perspective, the application of BMC can help to produce a good business model translation which must have a balance between several requirements which are divided into three terms, namely feasibility (technical), desirability (customer) and Viability (economics) of the product.

Abstract

The city of Banda Aceh, which is a city affected by the Hydrometeorological Disaster in 2004, still has a high level of sea waves and coastal abrasion. Still, conservation of mangrove plants as a mitigation measure has not been carried out optimally due to a lack of public awareness and priority of the government's performance program plan. This study will describe a study related to the benefits of mangrove plants as an appropriate mitigation effort according to the geographical conditions of Banda Aceh City. Based on this research, it is hoped that the government and the community will understand the importance of preserving and conserving mangroves to improve the safety and security of the people in the city's coastal areas. This study uses qualitative methods based on primary and secondary data from previous journal research and data from agencies related to hydrometeorological disaster management. The results obtained are based on the data collected. Considering the study of the benefits of mangroves, the coastal city of Banda Aceh is vital for the conservation of mangrove plants as a mitigation measure for high waves and coastal abrasion.

Abstract

Implementation of uterine rental agreement or surrogate mother is an agreement between a woman who binds herself through an agreement with another party (husband and wife) to become pregnant with the result of the fertilization of the husband and wife which is implanted into her womb, and after giving birth is required to hand over the baby to the husband and wife based on agreement made. The research method used is normative legal research, namely legal research conducted by researching library materials or secondary legal materials, while the problem approach is carried out using a legal approach and a conceptual approach. The results of the study indicate that the mother surrogate does not fulfill one of the conditions of the agreement. Then the Notary Deed is declared null and void if the deed does not meet the objective elements of the deed, namely a lawful cause. In such a case, legally without any request from the parties, thus the agreement is considered to have never existed and is not binding on anyone.

Abstract

Efforts to preserve buildings, especially cultural heritage buildings, can be carried out in various ways depending on the type of damage to the building. Likewise, the damage to the building is caused by many factors, and if the cause of the damage is known, then it is necessary to find out how to carry out rehabilitation/treatment that is most appropriate to the type of damage that occurred. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, the manual for repairing cultural heritage buildings does not yet have the same standard. For this reason, research is needed to determine how to rehabilitate cultural heritage buildings, because the way the work is done has a different method from buildings in general. Rasuna Said's house is one of the cultural heritage buildings located in Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province. Historically, this building was once the home of Hj. Rasuna Said, a well-known National Hero who was persistent in fighting for the independence of the Indonesian people during the Dutch colonial period. To honor his struggle and preserve the history of this house building, in 2017 the Government has designated Rasuna Said's house as a National Rank cultural heritage by decree of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 370/M/2017 [1]. Tela (2021), stated that from the results of previous research, regarding Rasuna Said's house, it was stated that this house suffered a lot of damage, both on the roof, roof wood frame, and building walls. Therefore, to follow up on the results of the research, the researcher considers it necessary to conduct research on the work method of repairing damage to the cultural heritage building of Rasuna Said's house in Agam Regency, West Sumatra. This research is devoted to examining the method of repairing architectural components. Because the building of Rasuna Said's house based on the results of previous research, damage occurred to architectural components consisting of roofs, ceilings, walls, windows, doors and floors of the building. By using the method of collecting data through field observations/observations and the desk study method, namely the method of collecting data and information through the study and analysis of data and information using secondary data, either in the form of reports, references, photos and maps. The analysis that will be carried out is data processing to produce a plan document for the rehabilitation of cultural heritage buildings by considering the data from measurements, descriptions, identification, photography and research that has been carried out. This rehabilitation method is to obtain results that are in accordance with the initial building, both in terms of form, material and the way the rehabilitation works. The results of this study are the basis for the preparation of a building improvement plan which includes the concept of improvement and recommendations on how to carry out repairs to the Rasuna Said house as a cultural heritage building.

Abstract

The old view, learning as a process of interaction between lecturers and students in the context of knowledge transfer. Along with the times with the era of sophisticated technology and globalization, the concept is no longer appropriate. In this era of technology and globalization, the challenges of life are increasingly complex.  Student centered learning must be interactive, fun, challenging, motivate students to participate actively, and provide sufficient space for initiative, creativity, and independence in accordance with the talents, interests, and physical and psychological development of students. From the various existing learning models, innovation can choose project-based learning model. Students constructively carry out deepening learning with a research-based approach to weighty, real, and relevant problems and questions. Science process skills are important skills to be used in the science learning process such as in studying chemistry. In addition, science process skills also reflect the behavior of scientists in classifying science, but the current science process skills of students are still low. The purpose of this study is to analyze application of project-based learning model on basic chemical colloidal materials to improve science process skills and student learning outcomes. The research area was carried out in the Chemical Education Study Program, PMIPAFKIP, Universitas Jambi in the odd semester 2021/2022. The population in the study were all students who contracted Basic Chemistry II in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The sample was taken in one class. This research is a quantitative study using a pre-experimental design type one group pretest-posttest (single group initial-test-posttest). The results showed that project-based learning model can be applied to basic chemical colloidal materials. Students' science process skills in learning colloidal materials by applying project-based learning model are very good. Student learning outcomes in learning basic chemical colloidal materials by applying project-based learning model are very good.
