Abstract

Individuals are the driving force of an organization, exhibiting dynamic workplace behaviors. Understanding these behaviors requires assessing workload, organizational culture, work engagement, job satisfaction, and organizational citizenship behavior. This study aims to enhance existing models by treating workload as an independent variable, positioning job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior as predicted outcomes, and incorporating organizational culture as an influencing factor, with work engagement as a mediator. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to all employees at Department of Population and Civil Registration in Kupang, Indonesia with a final sample of 77 respondents. Data processing was carried out through the Smart PLS 4 software. The results indicate that job satisfaction is positive and significantly influenced by organizational culture and work engagement, while workload has a negative but insignificant effect. Similarly, organizational citizenship behavior is positively impacted by organizational culture and work engagement, whereas workload does not play a substantial role. Work engagement is also confirmed as a mediator in these relationships. These findings highlight the importance of fostering a positive organizational culture and enhancing employee engagement to improve job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior. However, as the study focuses on a specific job category, the results may not be generalizable. Future research should explore different job categories and conduct comparative analyses to refine theories on workplace behavior.

Abstract

Work and family life are two domains of human activity where people spend two-thirds of their lives in these two domains. Each individual has a role in each of these domains and strive to be able to fulfill its role. However, when one role demands more attention it will interfere with the fulfillment of the other role. This study aims to determine the effect of work-family conflict on welfare. Then this study will examine the role of moderating emotional intelligence on these influences. The sample in this study were all Ahmad Dahlan University Hospital employees, amounting to 104 people. The sampling technique used in this study is saturated sampling. The research data was obtained through a questionnaire filled out by Ahmad Dahlan University Hospital employees. Hypothesis testing uses multiple regression and multilevel regression (hierarchy). The results showed that work-family conflict and emotional intelligence affect welfare. However, the effect of moderating emotional intelligence on the effect of work-family conflict on well-being is not proven.

Abstract

The adaptability of Generation Z to technological advances and an ever-changing work environment has made Generation Z dominant in the global job market, such as in the e-commerce sector. This study aims to analyze the impact of inclusive leadership on innovative work behavior among Generation Z employees, considering the mediating role of job crafting. This study uses a quantitative methodology with path analysis to examine the correlations among the constructs in the research framework. Data were collected through a survey of 376 Generation Z employees working at Shopee International Indonesia Company. Analytical procedures were conducted using Smart PLS version 4 to facilitate a comprehensive evaluation of direct and indirect relationships within the research model. The results indicate that inclusive leadership has a positive impact on innovative work behavior and job crafting. Additionally, job crafting not only contributes positively to innovative work behavior but also acts as a mediating variable in the relationship between inclusive leadership and innovative work behavior. This study expands existing understanding of inclusive leadership and innovative work behavior, and provides practical insights for practitioners to create more inclusive environments that support innovative work behavior.

Abstract

Remote workers from Generation Z and Millennial increasingly seek new job opportunities when required to return to entirely on-site work. This trend highlights the critical importance of work-life balance and work flexibility policies for these demographics. As such, flexibility and balance are essential priorities that companies must incorporate into their workplace strategies. This study examines the moderating role of resilience in the relationship between work flexibility and work-life balance. The inclusion of resilience as a moderator seeks to address the inconsistent findings observed in prior studies concerning the impact of work flexibility on work-life balance. The research involved a purposive sample of 132 Generation Z and Millennial employees working in startup companies across Indonesia. Data analyzed using Smart Partial Least Square version 4.0. The results revealed that both work flexibility and resilience significantly influence work-life balance. However, resilience did not significantly moderate the relationship between work flexibility and work-life balance. These findings imply that while resilient individuals experience better work-life balance, resilience alone does not enhance the benefits of flexible work arrangements. For startup companies, offering flexibility remains a key strategy for supporting work-life balance. At the same time, organizations can further support their employees by fostering personal development and well-being through programs that build resilience. Combining both approaches may lead to a healthier, more motivated, and more productive workforce.
