Abstract

Home garden is a land that is around the house. Home garden is widely used by the owners to plant crops, plantations, fruits and timber crops. Plantation in home garden usually in intercropping. The width of the ownership of the homegarden in Kulon Progo Regency is relatively narrow, but the community has local wisdom to utilize the home garden by combining various types of plants so that it can give the result and increase the family income. This community devotion activity is done with the aim to give assistance of Banjararum Village community in utilizing home garde so that it can be more productive with limited area of land owned by society. This activity is done through training the utilization of home garden with cultivation of agricultural crops in theory and then practice the knowledge gained by making demonstration plot. The demonstration plot is focused in Dondong hamlet as a pilot area. Strengthening the marketing network is done in cooperation with PT East West Indonesia as one of the producers of agricultural crops. The result of this community service activity is the increasing knowledge of the people of Desa Banjararum in utilizing the yard land so that it can increase the family income. The community also acquired a new network of seed producers involved in community service activities.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kelurahan Wates merupakan sebuah kelurahan yang berada di Kecamatan Wates, Kabupaten Kulon Progo. Pada awal bedirinya Kelurahan Wates ini berbentuk desa, dimana seluruh asset menjadi milik desa dan digunakan seluasnya untuk kemakmuran dan kesejahteraan warga Desa Wates. Pada tanggal 1 Desember 2010 status Desa Wates berubah menjadi Kelurahan Wates. Kelurahan Wates merupakan pusat pemerintahan Kabupaten Kulon Progo, sehingga secara tidak langsung aktivitas kelurahan berpengaruh terhadap kelangsungan Pemerintahan Kabupaten Kulon Progo karena terbatasnya anggaran, beberapa aspek dasar dalam hal data geospasial juga tidak muncul di dalam Renja 2017. Sebagai contoh belum adanya rencana kegiatan dalam hal pemetaan desa/kelurahan. Sehingga hal ini bisa menjadi peluang bagi perguruan tinggi untuk melaksanakan kegiatan penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, khususnya dalam penyediaan data geospasial. Dari pemaparan permasalahan di atas, dimana yang menjadi pokok permasalahan adalah ketiadaan data geospasial, maka dapat diberikan solusi dengan pengadaan salah satu bentuk data geospasial, yaitu Peta Foto Udara Kelurahan Wates skala besar, yaitu antara 1:1000 – 1:5000. luaran dari pengabdian ini, yaitu berupa Peta Foto Udara Kelurahan Wates skala besar. Dari peta foto yang akan dihasilkan ini, nantinya dapat dikembangkan untuk membuat peta-peta turunan lainnya, seperti peta sarana-prasarana, peta jaringan jalan, dan sistem informasi desa yang direncanakan akan dibuat dalam pengabdian masyarakat pada tahun-tahun berikutnya. Kata Kunci: peta foto, foto udara, Wates, geospasial ABSTRACT Kelurahan Wates located in Wates District, Kulon Progo Regency. In the beginning, the Kelurahan Wates Wates was in the form of a village, where all assets belonged to the village and the company to the Wates community and village. On December 1st, 2010, the status of Wates Village changed to Kelurahan Wates. Wates Subdistrict is the center of Kulon Progo Regency government, indirectly for the kelurahan that is related to Kulon Progo Regency Government due to limited budgets, some things in the geospatial data will not appear in Renja 2017. For example, there are no planned activities regarding village / kelurahan mapping. Thus, this can be an opportunity for universities to carry out research and community service activities, especially in the availability of geospatial data. From the presentation of the problem, the main thing is the absence of geospatial data, and it can be provided with one form of geospatial data, namely the large-scale Wates Urban Air Photo Map, which is between 1: 1000-1: 5000. The output from this service, in the form of Large-scale Wates Urban Air Photo Map. From the maps that will be produced, it can be developed to make other derivative maps, such as facilities and infrastructure maps, road network maps, and village information systems that will be created in community service in the following years.. Keywords: aerial map, aerial photograph, Wates, Geospatial

Abstract

Banjararum village does not have solid waste processing facility (“tempat pengolahan sampah” atau TPS) yet. The community service activity program aims to design TPS area site plan, TPS building (especially foundation and floor), and carry out the construction work. The building is located at village property site and includes area of 1000 m2. The work activities include location survey, surveying, site plan preparation, review and finalizing of site plan by team and village government partner, land clearing, bouwplank fixing, cut work, foundation construction, soil filling for floor levelling, construction of other building elements (column, wall, roof), tile fixing, and reporting. Technical data are consisted: floor area by dimension of 11´6 m, three maturity pools by dimension 3.5´4 m per pool, continuous river stone foundation (by dimension of height, base width, and top width of 0,6´0,6´0,3 m) and a layer beneath foundation made by river sands and stones. Village government partner assists team work through labor and material procurement and carry out daily supervising.

Abstract

Banjararum Village is an agropolitan village that has potential in agriculture field such as sweet potato and red dragon fruit. In addition, there are Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs)  as conducted by Kelompok Wanita Tani  Banjararum Village, Kalibawang, Kulonprogo which is producing snack  from agriculture such as wingko purple and red dragon fruit. But they do not have an attractive packaging yet. The purpose of this community service is to provide training and mentoring on wingko products. The method used is the delivery of the concept of an attractive logo and packaging, logo-making training, and packaging training. The result of this activity is the women farmer groups have a knowledge about the logo and packaging are interesting and have an interesting logo and packaging on wingko products. The conclusion of this activity is the implementation of the activity runs smoothly, Kelompok Wanita Tani Banjararum has the knowledge of interesting design and economical.

Abstract

The diesel engine lifespan increasing in marine operation will decrease their perfomance.  Some problems will occur, there are hard starting, bad exhaust gas colour and bad power output, suddenly engine stop and hard to start back. There fore any diesel engine training is needed to guard engine perfome. The KKM (Ketua Kamar Mesin= engine room head) training for maintaining their ability to serve diesel engine properly is necesary.   Their ability have came from their friend or autodidact. The 25 fishingman ships were burning at Blora quay last several mounths prove of the lack of their ability. Thre are some rutine maintenances sould be done; every 8 hours Radiator water, diesel fuel and lubricantion oil are controlled, every week (150 hours) air screen cleaning, every two weeks (250 hours) oil lubricant replacement. Every month (500 hours) readjust fuel valve, every 1000 hours oil lubricant replacement and garvernor funtion checking, every 1500 hours inlet manifold cleaning and exhaust sistem, every 3000 fuel tank cleaning and to overhaul also replacement worn out spare parts, every 6000 hours cylinder head take apart and carbonation, and every 12000 hours general over haul and replacement worn out spare part.

Abstract

The aim of our community service program is to create promotion media of tourist attraction located in Menoreh, Samigaluh District, Kulon Progo Regency. Menoreh has a lot of not well-developed potential tourist attractions. There are not many information that we can obtain in internet about Menoreh attractions. This can be viewed from low number of visitors in Menoreh. Therefore a good promotion media is needed to solve the explained problem. Menoreh is a very potential area not only because of its natural resources but also because the government through the Ministry of Tourism establish Menoreh as a National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) Borobudur. There are many choices of promotional media that can be used, in this community service program we use Android-based application. Ministry of Communications and Information Republic of Indonesia in its official website predicts that by 2018 the number of active users of smartphones in Indonesia will exceed of 100 million users. Indonesia will be the country with the fourth largest smartphone active users in the world after China, India and the United States. From the that fact we can said that the promotion with smartphone-based application (by means of Android) is one of the most effective promotional methods today.

Abstract

Higher education is one of the stakeholders which have a role in preparing quality productive age through Tri Dharma. The success of preparing a generation at the senior high school level will be able to support Indonesia's success in 2030. It is expected that with age, energy and great enthusiasm it will become a big capital for the country's development. The purpose of this activity is to encourage the growth of student awareness in planning further education or career as a description of future life plans and to increase knowledge about the insights of female students related to education and the health professionals especially in complex hospitals. The method in implementing this activity is by counseling, discussion and question and answer. The activity was held on Friday, 11 August 2017 at 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. WIB at SMA (Senior High School) 2 Wates in Kulon Progo Yogyakarta. The introduction of education and the profession of the health workforce in the form of explanatory counseling was attended by 131 students of SMA N 2 Wates who were students of class XII majoring in Science and Social Sciences at SMA N 2 Wates. This activity took place by involving several parties, namely the lecturer and student team of Medical Record Study Program, headmaster and counseling teacher (BK) as well as class XII students at SMA N 2 Wates in Kulon Progo. The participants took part in the activity well, actively and enthusiastically.

Abstract

Posyandu  cadres  are  community  elements  that  have  an  important  role  in  carrying  out Posyandu activities. Cadre's tasks include registration, recording, weighing, counseling, and discussing the results of Posyandu activities. One important task of cadres is recording and reporting. So far, the recording and reporting of posyandu is still done manually, therefore cadres need to be supported by information technology to facilitate the task. The iPosyandu application is one of the smartphone application innovations that is used to facilitate cadre assignments in Posyandu activities. This study aims to determine the differences in knowledge of cadres before and after training about the use of iPosyandu applications. The research method used is analytical with cross sectional approach. The subjects of this study were 86. Posyandu cadres in Pasawahan District. Retrieval of data in this study using research instruments in the form of questionnaires given before and after training. The results of this study  indicate  that  there  are  differences  in  Posyandu  cadre  knowledge  before  and  after training, namely p = 0,000 (p <0.05). Cadres who have good knowledge increase up to 100%. Before  the  training,  cadres  who  had  good  knowledge  were  54.65%.  Increased  cadre knowledge score of 45.35%. The conclusion of this study is that there is a difference in cadre knowledge after training on the use of the iPosyandu application.

Abstract

The title of this Community Service activity is: "Packing Training for Coconut Oil Products and Coconut Shell Charcoal to Improve Productive Economic Empowerment in Purwoharjo Village, Samigaluh District, Kulon Progo Regency. This activity was carried out by conducting training using a plastic press machine. Training on packing coconut oil and coconut charcoal products took place on Saturday, August 19, 2017 in the Purwoharjo Village Hall, Samigaluh District, Kulon Progo Regency, attended by 40 people, consisting of resource persons, lecturers and students. The results that can be achieved from this activity are 1.) Providing product packing expertise to community members who have the ability to produce coconut oil and coconut shell charcoal products in Purwoharjo Village, 2.) Applying product packaging expertise to community members who have the ability to produce coconut oil and coconut shell charcoal products in Purwoharjo Village.

Abstract

Kulon Progo Regency is one of the districts in Yogyakarta Special Region which has great potential, especially its tourism potential. Pagerharjo village located in District Samigaluh, which is part of the Menoreh region, is an area that has a lot of tourism potential and local products. But this great potential has not been widely known by the public. Advances in technology such as android-based smartphones are widely known as one of the popular online media used for promotion. However, the utilization of this android-based smartphone as a medium of potential promotion of the region has not been so maximized, especially in the Pagerharjo and its surrounding areas. Therefore, the Department of Electrical and Informatics Engineering, Vocational School of Gadjah Mada University conducted the Training of Android Smartphone. The training was conducted with participants from Pagerharjo Village's Youth and Housewife Organization.
