Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation strategy for strengthening the character values ​​of social care and patriotism, identify the obstacles faced by the school, and explain the forms of policy follow-up efforts undertaken by the school in this character strengthening strategy for seventh-grade students at SMP Laboratorium Undiksha through the Pancasila Education subject. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. Qualitative data analysis was conducted through the steps of data collection, reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that SMP Laboratorium Undiksha has several structured and proven successful character strengthening strategies. These strategies include the 5S Habitual Program (Smile, Greet, Say Hello, Be Polite, and Courteous), the 4 Magic Words Program, the Healthy Friday and Meditation Program, and the Co-curricular and Inclusive Program. Character development is formally evaluated through homeroom teacher meetings every mid-semester. However, there are obstacles faced by all school members in its implementation, requiring ongoing evaluation to improve the character of social care and patriotism in the future. Abstract

Character education is a primary focus of the national education system, as an effort to shape students who excel not only academically but also possess personality, morals, and social attitudes consistent with the values ​​of Pancasila. One strategy considered effective in strengthening character education is through extracurricular activities, particularly scouting activities, which emphasize hands-on, experiential learning. This study aims to examine the role of scouting extracurricular activities in strengthening character education for students at SMA Negeri 1 Mengwi. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observation, and documentation. Research informants included the principal, vice principal for student affairs, scout leaders, and students participating in scouting extracurricular activities. The results show that scouting extracurricular activities play an important role in strengthening students' character of discipline, responsibility, and independence through structured, sustainable, and hands-on activities. Although several obstacles were encountered in their implementation, such as limited time and physical readiness of students, these obstacles can be overcome through ongoing coaching and mentoring by scout leaders. Thus, extracurricular scouting activities significantly contribute to strengthening character education in schools. Abstract

Abstract Implementing instructional media in the subject of Civic Education (PPKn) using the analogy of the Gong Kebyar gamelan on students’ learning outcomes. This research of innovation in instructional media, which has contributed to students’ low comprehension and interest in Civic Education. To address this issue, an educational video was developed that links the concept of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity) with elements of Balinese local culture, particularly the Gong Kebyar gamelan, which symbolizes harmony in diversity. The study employed a quasi-experimental approach using a one-group pre-test–post-test design, with the research sample consisting of seventh-grade students from SMA Negeri 1 Sawan during the 2024/2025 academic year. The data analysis revealed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes following the implementation of the instructional media. These findings suggest that incorporating local cultural wisdom such as the Gong Kebyar gamelan into educational media can effectively enhance students’ understanding of Civic Education content and promote more active engagement in the learning process. Abstract

Abstract Character education is a central focus of the Merdeka Curriculum through the strengthening of the Pancasila Student Profile. The success of character development requires synergy between school strategies and the role of teachers, particularly Civics Education teachers. This study aims to analyse the implementation of school strategies through learning in strengthening the character of the Pancasila Student Profile among students at SMAN 1 Banjar. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects included the principal, Civics Education teachers, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analysed using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that school strategies are implemented through the integration of Pancasila values into learning activities, reinforcement of school culture, co-curricular and extracurricular programs, and the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5). Civics Education teachers act as facilitators, role models, and motivators in internalizing Pancasila values through contextual and participatory learning. However, challenges remain in terms of limited understanding of the Pancasila Student Profile concept and adaptation to the Merdeka Curriculum. Overall, school strategies and the role of Civics Education teachers contribute positively to strengthening students’ character in accordance with the Pancasila Student Profile. Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of implementing the Jigsaw cooperative learning model on improving student learning outcomes and interest in Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) subjects. This study was motivated by the continued dominance of conventional learning methods, which have resulted in low student participation, interest, and understanding of PPKn material. To address this problem, the Jigsaw cooperative learning model was applied, which emphasizes group cooperation, individual responsibility, and active interaction among students in the learning process. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a posttest-only control group design, where the research subjects were eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 7 Singaraja in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data collection techniques were carried out through tests to measure learning outcomes and questionnaires to measure students' interest in learning. Based on the results of data analysis, a significant increase was found in student learning outcomes and interest in learning after the application of this learning method in several relevant studies. Abstract

The Karya Lilitan Ceremony is a sacred ritual that plays a central role in the spiritual, social, and ecological life of the Catur community of Dalem Tamblingan Traditional Village, Bali. This ritual is not merely a religious practice, but also functions as a cultural mechanism for preserving local values, strengthening social cohesion, and maintaining cosmic balance between humans, nature, and ancestral spirits, as reflected in the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana. This study aims to describe the meaning, stages, and socio-ecological functions of the Karya Lilitan Ceremony within the customary institutional structure of the community, with particular attention to the role of the Gama Tirta Charter, which venerates water as a source of life and a sacred spiritual medium. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach through literature review, participatory observation, and semi-structured interviews with traditional leaders, temple custodians, and customary institution representatives. The findings indicate that the Karya Lilitan Ceremony serves as an effective cultural mechanism for maintaining collective identity, strengthening intergenerational social solidarity, and enhancing ecological awareness among indigenous communities. The active involvement of all community members throughout the extended ritual process demonstrates a strong integration of spirituality, customary governance, and environmental conservation based on local wisdom. Thus, the Karya Lilitan Ceremony represents not only a form of religious heritage but also a sustainable socio-ecological model rooted in indigenous cultural traditions. Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ learning motivation and learning outcomes through the implementation of the STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) cooperative learning model assisted by audiovisual media in Pancasila Education. The research was conducted on Grade VII B students at SMP Negeri 3 Susut. This study was motivated by the low level of students’ learning motivation and learning outcomes, which were influenced by teacher-centered learning methods and limited use of engaging learning media. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in several cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, learning achievement tests, and learning motivation questionnaires. The results indicate that the implementation of the STAD cooperative learning model assisted by audiovisual media significantly improves students’ learning motivation and has a positive impact on their learning outcomes in Pancasila Education. Therefore, the STAD learning model assisted by audiovisual media is effective as an alternative instructional approach to enhance the quality of the learning process and student achievement. Abstract

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum emphasizes the development of 21st-century competencies known as the 4C skills: critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. These skills can be strengthened through co-curricular activities as a form of contextual learning outside of extracurricular activities. This study aims to describe the role of co-curricular activities in developing students' 4C skills during the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at SMA Negeri 1 Banjar. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research subjects included students, co-curricular activity supervisors, and school officials. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that co-curricular activities were able to provide meaningful learning experiences that supported the development of students' critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills. Before the co-curricular activities were optimally implemented, students tended to be passive and lacked confidence in expressing their opinions. However, after the implementation of co-curricular activities based on direct experience, students' social and academic skills improved. Thus, co-curricular activities have a strategic role in supporting the successful implementation of the Independent Curriculum by strengthening students' 4C skills.
