Abstract

The development of research measures aim to (1) know the current syllabus; (2) get the data and conclusions about the syllabus; (3) find out theoretical syllabus developed nowadays; (4) draft and develop a new syllabus to suit the needs of students, faculty, and industry; (5) get the validity of the test results by getting experts to the syllabus; (6) get the limited field test results against the syllabus; (7) get the eligibility of the syllabus. There are two discussions in this research. First, an examination of the current English syllabus with study documents, learning, observation and analysis of the needs for the development of the syllabus. Second, the language syllabus development has been done by arranging the first prototype. Results of the tests on these students and lecturer next votes disqualified by experts. In this case, all three experts agree that the English syllabus in the third prototype is appropriate and valid to be implemented in PoliMedia.

Abstract

Digitalisasi telah banyak memberikan perubahan dalam setiap segi kehidupan, tak terkecuali dalam dunia fotografi. Pembuatan portofoliopun sudah seharusnya memanfaatkan media yang berbasis digital. Namun masalahnya belum banyak mahasiswa memanfaatkan hal tersebut dan menjadikannya sebagai peluang bagi usaha ataupun karirnya. Selain itu juga kerap kali portofolio yang dibuat tidak memiliki nilai jual dan teknik pemasaran yang kurang efektif. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini mencakup topik utama, yaitu teknik untuk memasarkan portofolio digital menggunakan media baru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data pun dilakukan dengan wawancara, studi dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi dasar dalam pembuatan portofolio fotografi digital sekaligus juga memberikan benchmark terhadap pemasaran portofolio tersebut.

Abstract

Children are an age group who adapts very well to the stimuli what they receive from their environment, such as movies and games. Unfortunately, entertainment these days contains many negative messages that has an impact on the erosion of moral values, which are, then implemented in the form of negative thought patterns and behaviors.The purpose of this research is to examine how children's entertainment media can be educational, entertaining, and easy to understand with a case study of the animated tv series ‘Riko: Jarak Matahari dan Bumi’This research was studied using the method of pragmatic semiotics initiated by Charles Sanders Peirce by analyzing semiotic elements, then validated with the psychological theory of child development. The results of the analysis show that the semiotic elements presented in ‘‘Riko: Jarak Matahari dan Bumi’ are in line with the psychological principles of child development.

Abstract

Sopan santun merupakan salah satu materi penting dalam kehidupan yang harus dikenalkan sejak dini. Dengan menerapkan sopan santun seperti menyapa teman, meminta maaf, berterimakasih, menghargai orang yang lebih tua dan sebagainya, maka akan menjadikan seorang anak yang disenangi banyak orang. Namun, sebagian guru memiliki kesulitan untuk mengenalkan sopan santun kepada anak yang Sulit konsentrasi. Oleh karna itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk merancang sebuah media pembelajaran berupa Buku Ilustrasi Pop Up dengan Tema Sopan Santun Siswa dalam Kehidupan Sehari- yang ditujukan untuk siswa TK Al-Fauzi Medan. Perancangan gambar yang bertujuan menyampaikan informasi atau pesan (berkomunikasi). Jadi, desain grafis adalah merancang komunikasi dengan gambar. Tujuannya, agar pesan yang hendak disampaikan media tersebut diterima dan sampai kepada pembaca. Dalam perancangan Buku Ilustrasi pop up metode pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah dengan cara studi pustaka, observasi, dan wawancara. Adapun informan penulis ialah kepala sekolah dan guru TK AL-Fauzi Medan. Hasil dari Buku Ilustrasi ini adalah berupa sebuah buku yang didesain dengan konsep Pop Up, ilustrasi yang lucu, dan warna warna yang cerah untuk menarik minat belajar pada siswa. Pada sampul diberikan salah satu ilustrasi sopan santun berupa berpamitan dengan orang tua. Melalui perancangan buku ilustrasi ini, para siswa diharapkan dapat mengenal sopan santun.

Abstract

Digital globalization in the economic sector is no exception in the printing industry. For hundreds of years the print media dominated for the dissemination of information. However, currently the dominance of the print media industry is now in danger of being shifted along with technological developments. This study shows how the growth of the print industry in Indonesia for several years. Based on the results of the study, the number of printing industries from 2011-2015 experienced a decline in almost all regions of Indonesia, including the provinces of West Java, East Java, DKI Jakarta, Banten, Kalimantan, Central Java and Sumatra. The decline in numbers occurred in the printing industry of newspapers, magazines, books and advertising. Especially for the packaging industry, it did not experience a significant decline and was relatively stable.

Abstract

Producing translation manuscripts has a different level of complexity of the local paper. Not only focusing on the content, the layout must also be observed more because it is crucial to the making of a book. The methods used to identify the problems and to get the solutions are a literary research, observation, and interview. Based on the results of discussion, there are several obstacles in layouting the translation book “Komunikasi Interpersonal”. How to deal with the obstacles is to pay more attention to the layout, the principles and elements due to the difference housestyles between the Cengage Publisher (source text) and Publisher Salemba (target text).

Abstract

This research aims at creating public service advertisement photos about public health in a creative photographic work.  The public health themes used are six aspects e.i. smoking, obesity, narcotics, liquor, epilepsy, HIV and AIDS. The contents are about convincing people to live healthier and leave the negative things that are detrimental to health. In addition, the researcher wants to remove negative paradigm that is always present in the minds of the public about the disease called a nerve disorder, epilepsy or “Ayan”. Making of photos are done with tools and materials in accordance with the concept of assisted photo shoots with the help of Digital Imaging. The researcher uses the technique of shooting High Key. He uses a mini studio with two lights flash strobe for shooting the object man and light tent mini studio for shooting objects in the form of inanimate objects with small to moderate size.

Abstract

Dalam era globalisasi saat ini tidak sedikit kesenian yang punah atau tidak lagi dipertunjukan. Keresahan-keresahan akan hal tersebut banyak dirasakan oleh para budayawan maupun seniman. Dengan munculnya kesenian baru yang turut beradaptasi dengan era saat ini dengan tanpa menghilangkan nilai-nilai tradisinya masih dapat dirasakan pada kesenian gambar Motekar. Penelitian yang dilakukan penulis merupakan analisis deskriptif terhadap gambar Motekar di era globalisasi saat ini. Pengumpulan data dan fakta mengenai gambar Motekar telah penulis lakukan baik langsung maupun tidak langsung. Dengan manghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa gambar Motekar sebagai kesenian baru yang beradaptasi terhadap arus globalisasi saat ini terus berupaya eksis dengan mempertahankan nilai luhur meskipun dengan visual yang dimodernisasi.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the quality of the illustration image in an integrated thematic textbooks for the theme of "Keluargaku" Vol 1D published by Erlangga. The researcher uses a qualitative descriptive method, with literary research, observation and interview. In the end, it can be concluded that there are errors of as much as 30% illustration images and the use of the illustration is not fully in accordance with the concept of thematic for Curriculum 2013. First, the layout of illustrations in this book are already onsite according to the style that is applied by the publisher. Second, the depiction of the characters in this book not quite maximum. Third, representations of techniques in this book are computerized process thoroughly. Fourth, the quality of the illustrations in this book concerns three aspects, namely: mouth-watering readers, the quality of the message, as well as clarity and precision.
