Abstract

The academic institution generally has management quality to measure lecturer performance. It can be estimated from two variables: leadership behavior and organizational culture. This variable needs to be analyzed to determine the relationship between its parameters and forms as correlations strength for identifying the lecturer's performance. This paper proposed a new approach to measure a correlation with two variables, namely the leadership variable and the organizational culture variable. Correlation measurement adopts the Pearson Correlation. It aims to define the correlation strength. Thus, it can show the quality of lecturer performance in an academic institution. Correlation measurement uses seven parameters on leadership variables and seven measurement parameters from organizational culture variables. The experiment shows that five parameter pairs in the two variables have a strong correlation. The highest positive correlation strength is obtained at 0.321 in routine evaluation with behavior parameters. The approaches can be used to determine the lecturer's reward.

Abstract

Fostering students' interest in continuing their education to higher education is critical to improving the quality of human resources. School involvement and the parent role are significant in fostering students' concern to continue their education to college. Therefore, this study examines the socioeconomic influence of parents, social environment, and self-actualization on students' interest in continuing studies. The researchers have collected data using incidental sampling techniques on 404 high school students. Instruments distributed to respondents have been tested for validity and reliability. Multiple regression was used for data analysis. The study results find that parents' socioeconomic, social environment and self-actualization significantly affect students' interest in continuing their studies. So, to increase students' attractiveness, the school as a social environment and parents who work together have a vital role in facilitating students by holding outreach activities and encouraging them to continue their education in tertiary institutions. This study provides academic insight into pedagogical research and educational development in adolescents. These findings contribute to future researchers and policymakers focused on increasing interest in continuing education in higher education.

Abstract

Limited health literacy is associated with faster kidney damage. Kidney failure patients are exposed to a lot of new information about the disease and its treatment, which often results in ineffective communication between the patient and the provider. Increasing the amount, timing, and individualization of information received has been identified as a priority in hemodialysis treatment at health centers. This literature review aims to determine the literacy of the Hemodialysis Patient Health Monitoring Information System. This research is a scoping review, using 4 databases, namely Google Scholar, Ebsco, Pro Quest, and Science Direct. The stages and flow of research article selection used PRISM Flowchart (Preferred Reporting Items For Systematic review and Meta-Analyses), and to assess the quality of the article, researchers used a checklist from the Joanna Briggs Institute. Two themes and five sub-themes were found among the 8 creening articles, namely: (1) Hemodialysis Perspective; (a) Hemodialysis Patient Perspective, (b) Professional Perspective, (c) Anxiety Level at the Beginning of Hemodialysis Treatment. (2) Monitoring the care of hemodialysis patients; (a) Use of Technology in improving compliance and self-management, (b) Health literacy level of hemodialysis patients. Health literacy technology tools such as hemodialysis patient-specific mobile applications are reliable and well validated. Patients who are aware of and understand their disease have better knowledge for better nutritional diet fulfillment.

Abstract

Promoting ICC has been discussed widely in the EFL context as one of the goals of foreign language learning. The present study explores implementing online problem-based learning (PBL) in an EFL classroom to promote critical intercultural awareness (CIA) in a teacher education context. The participants were 40 pre-service teachers who enrolled in Intercultural communication subjects for the semester. Drawing upon the PBL approach in teaching intercultural communication, the study deployed action research (AR) where participants engaged in the four phases: planning, acting, observing, and evaluating. Data were gathered through a series of guided observations and a written interview. The findings showed that the learners' capacity to be aware of cultural differences can be promoted by incorporating problem-based learning. In this sense, the learners develop their critical thinking regarding encountering a wide range of cultural diversity to promote CIA. In addition, PBL successfully enables pre-service teachers to be critically aware of intercultural issues and make meaningful reflections on their own culture and other people's cultures. This study contributes to teacher education by preparing EFL teachers to develop one of the aspects of Intercultural Competence.
