Abstract

This study evaluates security management in preventing security disruptions after an earthquake at Class IIB Cianjur Correctional Facility. The November 2022 earthquake damaged the facility's infrastructure, increasing risks such as inmate escapes, riots, and contraband smuggling. Using a qualitative method, the research found that strict surveillance, patrols, access restrictions, and technology such as CCTV effectively prevented disruptions. However, challenges like staff shortages and coordination during renovation hindered optimal oversight. Overall, security management responded well, though improvements are still needed. Abstract

This study aims to examine the consequences of disciplinary punishment for inmates from the perspective of labeling criminology, with a focus on the Pati Class IIB Correctional Institution. Disciplinary punishment in correctional institutions aims to enforce order, but it is inseparable from the labeling process and social intervention that has various consequences. This study uses qualitative methods and finds two classifications of consequences : negative and positive. Negative labeling can lead to loss of social opportunities, discrimination, isolation, and an increased risk of repeat offenders. Conversely, with support such as mentorship or rehabilitation, labeling can motivate individuals to change. The suggestion proposed is a review of disciplinary punishment rules with a focus on the balance between justice and rehabilitation, in order to minimize the negative impact on prisoners. Abstract

The coaching process at the Special Development Institution for Children actually aims to rebuild their character and behaviour to be in line with positive social values. However, behind this hope, it is still common to find fostered children who show low prosocial behaviour such as lack of concern, empathy, and desire to help others. This study uses the R&D (research and development) research method which is useful in developing a learning model in the form of a group guidance programme with a peer group approach for foster children. This study uses a qualitative approach method to explore and understand the meaning related to social problems that occur in groups of children. Based on the results of the research there are five children out of forty children who have low prosocial behaviour in LPKA Pekanbaru. They come from a family background that has complex problems and a poor social environment. The development of the peer group guidance model was carried out by providing intervention to them with a series of activities that had been arranged in several sessions so that the percentage level of prosocial behaviour from the pre-test results which was originally an average of 66.8% to 90% which means that the intervention provides a significant increase in children's prosocial behaviour by 23.2%. Peer group counselling provides opportunities for children to learn through observation and direct experience within the group. In addition to behavioural changes, the group guidance also had an impact on children's attitudes towards others. It is concluded that the peer group guidance model to build the prosocial behaviour of assisted children meets the criteria and is effective so it is feasible to use. The developed model can be used by counsellors to build the prosocial behaviour of foster children through the implementation of group guidance with a peer approach. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation and impact of the personality development program at the Special Development Institution for Children Class II Bandar Lampung in reducing the suicide risk among juvenile inmates. This research employs a qualitative method with data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and document analysis. The research informants include LPKA officers and juvenile inmates at risk of suicide. The study results indicate that the personality development program Salam Pemasyarakatan (Salampas) and religious programs play an essential role in preventing the suicide risk among juvenile inmates. The implementation of this program focuses on emotional and spiritual guidance, routinely provided by officers and religious instructors. However, shortcomings were identified in the form of insufficient control and a lack of psychological experts to support the mental health of the juvenile inmates. The proposed solution is the Sehat Mental Anak Binaan (Semabi), which includes mental health screening and counseling activities for the inmates. This research recommends greater involvement of psychological experts and stricter control to ensure the sustainability of the program. Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of social guidance for drug clients using a community development approach in Manggul Village, Lahat. Given the high rate of drug abuse in the community, this approach is expected to create an environment that supports the process of rehabilitation and social reintegration for clients. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis related to the social guidance program that has been implemented. This study also found that collaboration between the community and community leaders is critical in creating a sustainable program. With strong support from various parties, this program reduces the stigma against drug users and provides better access for clients to get the help they need. In addition, more systematic monitoring and evaluation need to be carried out to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the program. Through the development and implementation of the right strategy, it is hoped that this program can have a greater impact in overcoming the problem of drug abuse in Manggul Village and become a model for other areas. The results of the study indicated that the community development approach has succeeded in increasing public awareness of the dangers of narcotics and the importance of support for clients. In addition, social guidance carried out through group therapy and individual counseling has proven effective in helping clients overcome personal and emotional problems related to drug abuse.
