Abstract

Currently, it is very important to build the tourism sector based on an awareness of inclusivity. This article is a summary of the community service activities that have been carried out in the Tegaren Tourism Village, Trenggalek Regency, East Java. The program implementation team has tried to take the essence of the various community service activities that have been carried out. The core results of these activities can be divided into two parts, namely 1) awareness of inclusivity in Tegaren has existed for a long time, along with the development of this tourist village and 2) awareness of this inclusivity has facilitated collaboration with stakeholders, which in turn helps Tegaren plans concrete steps to develop tourism in the village, including through virtual tours. The program implementation team uses a variety of participatory approaches in planning, implementing, and evaluating community service programs in Tegaren. This approach includes participatory rural appraisal (PRA), asset-based community development (ABCD), collaborative partnerships, and community-based tourism (CBT). By implementing these participatory approaches, the implementation team also gives a significant role to the community or local people in Tegaren. This role further strengthens collective awareness, including awareness of inclusivity.

Abstract

UPN "Veteran" Jawa Timur has 13.5 hectares of land in Wonosalam District. This land has not been used optimally to support learning, research, and community service. The problems currently faced are 1) legal land ownership boundaries are still biased, 2) site plans for land use are not yet available, and 3) land potential data is needed that can be used as a reference for land use. Based on the problems above, this research aims to map land potential based on soil characteristics using the "Spatial Interpolation, Scoring, and Weight Overlay" method. Spatial interpolation is a way of calculating representative areas from several measurement points while scoring is giving parameter values based on their potential, while "Weight Overlay" is a facility provided by ArcMap GIS that combines input spatial data with a weighting (weight factor) of the magnitude of the influence. Land map units (LMU) are obtained from overlaying relief, geology, slope, and land use maps. The results of spatial interpolation, scoring, and weight overlay for eight soil characteristics for agriculture are in a good category, 49.7% (65,610.81 m2); medium 48.82% (64,093.76 m2); bad 1.21% (1,593.09 m2). For physical buildings in the good category 16.61% (44,130.38 m2); moderate 25.66% (67,382.75 m2) and poor 7.523% (19,784.88 m2). And for tourism in the good category 22.36% (29,361.61 m2); moderate 58.10% (76,281.01 m2) and poor 19.54% (25,655.05 m2). Directions for potential agricultural use of 8,802.9 m2 (6.7%), physical buildings = 17,595.8 m2 (13.4%), and tourism = 28,890.8 m2 (22.0%), and can potentially be developed by combining agriculture and tourism = 36,890.3 m2 (28 .1%), Development of physical buildings or tourism = 39,117.9 m2 (29.79%), and all potential and development area is in Slightly Flat topography (Slope, 0-3%) to hilly (Slope, 15-25%).

Abstract

The article serves as a scholarly publication summarizing field research conducted in Tegaren, East Java. The research team's objective is to provide a fresh perspective on the digitalization of the tourism village. The article examines the challenges faced by Tegaren in enhancing digital telecommunications penetration and adapting to digital technology following its transformation into a tourism village. These challenges encompass four main factors: 1) the prevalence of a younger, less productive age group in Tegaren, 2) the departure of youth from Tegaren, 3) Tegaren's agricultural lifestyle and ecosystem, and 4) its geographically distant position from major transportation hubs. Employing a theoretical framework incorporating methods such as participatory rural assessment, asset-based community development, community-based tourism, and the digital culture and literacy of rural communities, the article elucidates the demographic and geographical obstacles hindering Tegaren's efforts to enhance digitalization for the tourist village. All data presented is derived from in-depth interviews and participatory observations carried out by the research team. The respondents comprise various stakeholders from the village, including village officials, Pokdarwis members, BUMDes members, besek farmers, and village youths. This article unveils a correlation between the evolution of a tourism village and the presence of shared spaces fostering creativity and productivity. Recognizing the distinctiveness inherent in the circumstances of each tourism village, it becomes clear that comprehensive generalizations about tourism village studies are not entirely applicable.

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) disclosure has attracted considerable attention from practice and academia. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an obligation that needs to be considered by the company to the environment around the company that contributes to the welfare of the community. In addition to the factors of profits obtained by the company (profitability) and gender diversity on the board of directors that affect corporate social responsibility. Islamic principles have actually taught business ethics that are seen as closely related to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), namely humans as caliphs (khalifah) and an approach consisting of three relationships (ukhuwwah), namely with the lord, with humans and with the environment. Thus, the purpose of this study is to determine the influence of Muslim CEO, women on board, and profitability on corporate social responsibility disclosure. The population in this study are banking companies listed on the Indonesia stock exchange for the period 2016-2019. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling techniques and obtained samples of 20 companies, so the amount of data processed was 80 companies. The data analysis used was multiple linear regression using SPSS version 25. The findings of this study show that Muslim CEO (? = 0.009) and women on board (? = 0.020) have an influence on corporate social responsibility disclosure, while profitability (? = 0.072) does not influence corporate social responsibility disclosure. Because of the fact, companies will focus more on allocating profits for investment or business continuity rather than spending costs on corporate social responsibility. We suggest that the profits earned by the company can be used for CSR disclosure programs, not just to reinvest capital for product development and company sustainability.

Abstract

The wastewater from industrial laundries has a high quantity of contaminants from the washing process, as well as chemical additives. The current study assessed the efficacy of the coagulation/occultation/sedimentation (C/F/S) method to treat laundry wastewater in relation to physicochemical parameters of water quality with the goal of treating this type of wastewater. For this purpose, an experimental design was applied to the C/F/S step using the addition of coagulant Alum, coagulant Alum plus flocculant Superfloc, and coagulant HCA. Alum coagulant has removal efficiency of 52% for COD and 37% for phosphate. The use of alum coagulant and Superfloc flocculant produces COD removal efficiency of 60% and phosphate removal efficiency of 58%. The use of HCA coagulant shows a removal efficiency of 64% for COD and 78% for phosphate. This shows that using more HCA coagulant is more effective than using alum coagulant and Superfloc flocculant in laundry wastewater treatment.

Abstract

Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) "Veteran" Jawa Timur is one of the state universities located in the Rungkut Madya-Gunung Anyar area, Surabaya, where various activities take place daily. Based on the types of activities, the sources of waste at UPN "Veteran" Jawa Timur are divided into two areas: waste from academic buildings, offices, and cafeterias, and waste from gardens and streets. About 70% of the waste generated by campus activities has the potential for recovery. Organic waste from garden sweeping, cafeterias, and other activities can be processed through composting. In addition to composting, there is currently another alternative method with better economic potential, one of which is turning it into eco-enzymes. Commercialization is understood as a process of developing new products from creative industries, making a product more valuable and commercially viable. In this article, commercialization is also understood as a comprehensive technology transfer process, starting from selecting raw materials for a product and continuing through the production process until the product is produced and reaches the end consumer. With the available and applicable processing technologies, it is hoped that this commercialization activity can assist in promoting the transformation of waste into furniture, home décor, and eco-enzymes by business groups. It includes designing commercial packaging for products and creating management and promotion schemes for processed campus waste products at UPN "Veteran" Jawa Timur.
