Abstract

Errors in writing in Indonesian made by writing training participants have indeed become a characteristic. This is because the trainees have just learned how to write in Indonesian properly and correctly. Therefore, syntactic error analysis needs to be done to identify variations of errors and the causes of errors made by writing trainees. The analysis was conducted to improve the quality of writing training for trainees in terms of providing training materials. The analysis was carried out using a descriptive analysis method on eight articles of training participants. The forms of errors identified in the writing of the writing training participants included the use of conjunctions, sentence order, use of question words, sentence pattern errors, and completeness of sentence structure. Overall, the most dominant error was the trainee's writing error in using conjunctions. Meanwhile, the cause of the error occurred because the trainees did not know how to write sentences in Indonesian correctly and according to Indonesian rules.

Abstract

The teacher's writing ability is still low. This is triggered by the condition of the teachers who do not have sufficient insight about writing and are not used to doing research. If teachers do not have good writing and reading skills, of course, the literacy level in schools cannot be expected to grow optimally. The reason is, teachers are the foundation in building literacy in schools. Therefore, teachers need to be given space to be skilled at writing. The method used is structured writing training using the KBM App application. This application makes it easy for teachers to write because teachers only need to use a smartphone/mobile phone to write. On the sidelines of time, teachers can write while lying down at home even once. The writing training activity lasted for a day with two broad materials, namely material for using the KBM App application, training in writing popular articles, and writing training with the KBM App application. From this training, teachers have increased their knowledge and skills in writing.

Abstract

Thanks to the digital transformation that we often encounter today, many things that were previously unthinkable to do are now becoming a reality. Virtual tours allow users to come to a place and see their surroundings without having to come there. Various images to videos that are combined to produce a 360° panorama can be used through devices such as computers to smartphones. This advantage was used by Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jawa Timur. as a step in branding its campus so that it could show the location of the campus without having to come directly there, especially during this pandemic which does not allow everyone to gather in one place directly. Because the UPN Vtour is an important asset for the campus to be able to introduce it to prospective students and their parents, it must be ensured that users get a good user experience. For this reason, a study was conducted to evaluate user experience in using UPN Vtour based on the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) which was distributed to 72 students of UPN “Veteran” Jawa Timur. Information System and then analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) technique. The results show that reliability and simulation are the main attractions, while others need to be developed again.

Abstract

This study focuses on the representation of ecocriticism in the children's novel entitled “Mata dan Manusia Laut” by Okky Madasari. Ecocriticism is an approach that explains the relationship between literature and environmental issues. The purpose of this study is to reveal how this novel represents the values for preserving the environment, which the children imitate through the behavior of the Bajo tribe in Wakatobi. By using descriptive qualitative methods and ecocriticism approaches, the results of this study are the values of character education in children that are represented through the mythology of the Bajo tribe such as the belief in the God of the Sea and Queen Octopus as the Guardian of the Sea. This is believed as an effort to preserve the sea. In addition, this novel criticizes human behavior that destroys nature, such as fishing using bombs, polluting the sea with a lot of garbage, and killing living things that protect the marine ecosystem. Thus, besides as the representation of the beauty and natural wealth of Wakatobi, this novel is also an effort to instill the values ??in children that Indonesia's marine wealth with all its potential must be kept in balance.

Abstract

Trenggalek is one of the regencies in East Java that is intensively developing tourist villages. By 2022, 35 tourist villages have been successfully built. With the existence of tourist villages with various potentials, supporting factors are needed from not only the government but also the wider community, one of which is the participation of the community as tour guides. A tour guide must master various abilities; communication skills, language skills, and the ability to know a lot about tourist attractions. One of the vital things that must be mastered by a tour guide is the ability to speak and write English as an international language. A tour guide is expected to be able to use English well, fluently, and effectively in carrying out his duties to guide tourists who come. That is why it is necessary to map the level of English proficiency of the tour guides in tourist villages. Thus, this study focused on analyzing the English levels of tour guides in two skills; speaking and writing. The result revealed that tour guides in Trenggalek have a varied range of English speaking and writing levels, from basic to intermediate. It is hoped that later with the mapping of the English level of the tour guides, English teachers and researchers in similar fields will be able to better prepare teaching materials and training programs that are suitable to the needs of the tour guides

Abstract

Population growth and socio-economic activities in the area are positively correlated with an increase in the amount and type of waste and pose a threat to regional ecosystems. The condition of the Ngimpik Final Disposal Site (TPA) is over capacity. The role of the community is needed to change the perspective on the waste that was previously collected, transported, and disposed of to reduce, separate, and utilize waste. Therefore, it is necessary to have a penta helix collaboration between stakeholders in waste management which is possible to overcome the problems of waste management. The research location is the Office of the Environmental and Hygiene Office of Gersik Regency. The research method uses a qualitative approach and data sources are obtained from secondary data, literature studies, interviews, and field visits. Informants were taken from formal figures, the Head of the Department of Cleanliness and the Environment and their staff, the community, and the private sector. Methods of data collection are done using interviews, focused groups, and discussions. This research is expected to result in the application of the concept of a penta helix collaboration model in dealing with waste management problems with a focus on describing the role of the Penta Helix collaboration in the TPST program. A solution to handle the problem of waste management in Gresik Regency through the concept of the Penta Helix collaboration. Data analysis was carried out using qualitative analysis by Miles and Huberman (2014) consisting of four components, namely: data collection (data collection), data condensation (data condensation), data presentation (data display), and drawing conclusions or verification (conclusion and verifying drawings). The results of the study indicate that the community's perspective on waste management has not been effective in terms of collecting, transporting, and disposing of waste to reduce, separate, and utilize waste. The SAMTAKU program has challenges due to internal inhibiting factors (awareness, motivation, and participation) and external inhibiting factors (commitment, trust, communication, and coordination). The Penta Helix collaboration is a solution to handling waste management by dividing the roles of academics as drafters, businessmen as enablers, communities as accelerators, government (government) as regulators, and media as expanders. Keywords: Penta Helix Collaboration, Waste Management, Samtaku Program.
