Abstract

Efforts to improve the quality of education by implementing educational management and establishing quality standards have been made by the government. However, to create a quality education, good governance is needed to support the achievement of educational goals, requiring effective educational management. This research aims to describe the educational management applied by RA Generasi Rabbani Ciamis to improve the quality of its graduates. The researcher interviewed the school principal, vice-principal, and a teacher, and analyzed various documents such as lesson plans, student reports, school programs, and facilities. The results show that the school has implemented effective educational management functions to improve the quality of its graduates, including planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and improvement (PDCA). RA Generasi Rabbani Ciamis is aware of the importance of implementing educational management to produce quality students who are competitive upon graduation.

Abstract

Assessment is a crucial part of the learning process. In addition to assisting students in determining their level of comprehension and subject-matter mastery, assessment is an essential component of the learning process. Formative evaluation is now regarded as being at the forefront of the learning process. Formative assessment is a learning activity that tracks how well learners are acquiring competencies with the goal of obtaining maximum mastery. Consequently, Continuous Formative Assessment (CFA) is created as an alternative evaluation strategy that can be used to the educational process in the post-pandemic period, particularly in the setting of hybrid learning. The courses are split into two groups for this study's quasi-experimental methodology: the Control Group and the Experimental Group. While the Experimental Group uses CFA for evaluation, the Control Group uses formative-summative assessment. In terms of how students view CFA, data processing results show an average score of 3.35 and a standard deviation of 0.697. The highest average score, 3.78, shows that students can use CFA to achieve the desired learning results.

Abstract

One of the challenges in secondary schools today is infringements on students’ rights, in a tortious way that may also constitute breach of the Child’s Right Act of 2003 in Nigeria.  These breach on rights usually come through the administration of corporal punishments on students, and mainly because the school heads see themselves as loco parentis of the students who can, therefore, enforce any form of punishment on them in the school. This study investigated knowledge, attitude, and infringement of tort law among public secondary school heads on students in Osun State.  All the students in Osun State public secondary schools and 723 heads constituted the population.  A sample of 54 school heads and 180 students were selected using multi-stage sampling procedure.  Two instruments were designed to elicit responses from the respondents.  Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to answer the research questions raised for the study.  The results showed that school heads do not have adequate knowledge of tort law and that both the school heads and students have poor attitude toward it tort law.  The study recommends that short term training on student’s right, how they can be legally protected and tort law be organised for school heads.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of developing interactive power point learning media for asking questions and giving opinions to class X students of SMK Hidayatul Mubtadi'in Kanigoro and to describe the results of developing interactive powerpoint learning media for learning materials asking questions and giving opinions to class X students Hidayatul Mubtadi'in Kanigoro Vocational School. In this research and development method refers to ADDIE model. The reason researchers use the ADDIE model in this study is because the ADDIE model has the right steps for the development of the media being developed (Branch, R.M 2009). After the powerpoint interactive learning media was finished, the researcher brought the interactive power point learning media to media material specialists for evaluation. Considering the percentage of experts' validation, namely (87.5%) media experts and (75.0%) material sheets validation. Furthermore, in the product category included in the "Valid" category as a complement to the media, the results of student answers were (62.10%). This means that interactive PowerPoint learning media is feasible to use.

Abstract

This research has been conducted with the aims to develop an English supplementary material in the form of e-module for reading skill difficulty in Computer and Network Engineering VHS students. The difficulty in reading made the students cannot understand the matter given easily. Moreover, in Kurikulum Merdeka, reading skill becomes one of focused skill to improve the literacy aspect. This study was Research and Development (R&D) which used ADDIE model. Questionnaires were used for collecting data in preliminary study, expert validations after the product developed, and students’ perception after trial product. While the researcher used the field note to gather document analysis result and interview guidelines as structured interview instrument to English teacher. All expert validation result showed >74,99%. The media expert had been on 95%, the matter expert was on 75%, and the final score from linguistic expert was on 95%. The student’s perception questionnaire had been on 84% with positive responses which reached “Good” category. Whereas the validation and reliability final counting are >0.457 and 0.815 which defined as valid and reliable. The e-module can be used as supplementary material for English teaching especially in Vocational High School.

Abstract

Perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam melaksanakan tugasnya, tidak ditentukan oleh keahliannya di bidang konsep dan teknik kepemimpinan semata, melainkan lebih banyak ditentukan oleh kemampuannya dalam memilih dan menggunakan perilaku kepemimpinan yang sesuai dengan situasi dan kondisi orang yang dipimpinnya. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui identifikasi perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan dampaknya terhadap kinerja guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Informan (orang yang diwawancarai) adalah satu orang kepala sekolah dan lima orang guru. Analisis data menggunakan prosedur interasis analisis, meliputi: reduksi data, penyajian data dan verifikasi atau penyimpulan.Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa kepala sekolah dapat menggerakkan, mengarahkan dan membimbing bawahan dalam peningkatan kinerja guru. Hal ini dapat dilihat dalam perencanaan pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, serta evaluasi pembelajaran.

Abstract

Child labour is one of the major obstacles to the realization of universal primary education in low- and middle-income countries. Child labour deprives children of their chances to acquire the required skills for the development of their potential. This is akin to a child trying to prepare for an exam while carrying a heavy backpack of worries, fears, and distractions on their back which affects their desired outcome. This study provided an updated review of the literature on child labour's influence on primary school pupils' enrolment. Child labour literature was explored via a scoping literature review strategy. As a result of this literature review, child labour negatively impacts primary school enrolment. This study also revealed that child labour is the major contributor to primary school pupils' dropout. Finally, this review revealed that enforcing a minimum employment age of 15 and reducing the return to child labour without providing social supports such as conditional cash transfer to the poor household would facilitate an increase in children’s dropout rate in developing countries. Based on the empirical child labour literature, more research is needed to be conducted using qualitative and quantitative measures to capture first-hand information to augment quantitative measures.

Abstract

This article aims to elucidate the principles of parental exemplarity as an educational model from the perspective of Islamic education. The presence of parents as primary educators and central figures within the household holds significant importance. However, a fundamental challenge that arises is the lack of understanding among some parents regarding their role and responsibility as role models, which can inadvertently lead children to emulate undesirable behaviors. This research employs the "Library Research" method with a qualitative interpretative approach to analyze various documents, including books and journals. From the analysis, it is concluded that the concept of parental exemplarity in Islamic education can be implemented through several steps, including: 1) Instilling exemplar habits in behavior; 2) Consistently providing advice to children; and 3) Cultivating exemplarity habits from an early age, such as expectant mothers habituating positive practices. This article provides a profound understanding of how parents can effectively serve as models in educating their children in accordance with the principles of Islamic education

Abstract

This research is motivated by the unfavourable conditions of a school, ranging from the quantity of students to the salaries of teachers and staff, forcing school leaders to employ resilient measures for the school's sustainability. The aim of this study is to analyse and provide a detailed description of the school principal's leadership in setting the direction, developing people, and redesigning the organization to enhance the school's resilience. The research adopts a qualitative approach utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation, with data analysis techniques involving description, analysis, and interpretation. The findings of this research explain that by fulfilling these three leadership roles—Setting the Direction, Developing People, and Redesigning Organization—a private school can effectively enhance its resilience.

Abstract

Students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) may lose access to familiar and essential resources for career transition after graduation, compelling them to navigate social and governmental institutions independently. This study investigated the impacts and barriers associated with career transition among students with SLD. The research employed a narrative literature review technique to search for and review relevant literature. Utilizing a narrative review approach enabled the researcher to identify comparable and diverse viewpoints and patterns within the literature, generating meaningful insights into the research topic. Challenges identified in this research include difficulties with modifications or accommodations, attitudinal barriers, failure to advocate for oneself, failure to disclose one's disability to employers or schools, inadequate career preparation and planning, discrimination, and social isolation. The study emphasizes that transition challenges persist based on the reviewed literature on barriers to career transition for students with SLD. It advises career counselors and employers to adopt a more inclusive approach in counseling and workforce accommodations by accurately identifying the additional needs of students with SLD. Sharing best practices and experiences can facilitate the dissemination of knowledge, materials, and resources for working with students with SLD.
