Abstract

Femoral fractures are musculoskeletal injuries that often require operative treatment. Before undergoing surgery, patients generally experience anxiety due to limited understanding of the procedure, risks, and outcomes of surgery. Proper implementation of informed consent procedures by healthcare professionals is considered to improve patient understanding and potentially reduce anxiety levels. This study aims to determine the relationship between the implementation of informed consent procedures and the preoperative anxiety levels of femoral fracture patients at Raden Mattaher Regional General Hospital in Jambi. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. A sample of 75 respondents was selected through a total sampling technique. Data collection used an informed consent questionnaire and the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale, which were then analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results showed that the majority of informed consent implementation was in the adequate category (65.3%), while the anxiety level was predominantly in the severe category (44.0%). Statistical analysis obtained a p-value of 0.000, indicating a significant relationship between the implementation of informed consent procedures and the preoperative anxiety levels of femoral fracture patients.

Abstract

Preparing consolidated financial statements for the first time is challenging for nonprofit organizations because parent entities and subsidiaries often apply different financial reporting structures and presentation formats. This study aims to develop a Lead Mapping-Based Harmonization Methodology to support first-time consolidated financial reporting under the Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards for Private Entities (SAK EP). A qualitative case study was conducted using document analysis, interviews, and observation of the consolidation process within a nonprofit group. The findings propose an integrated methodology consisting of four components: (1) a Lead Mapping Framework and Harmonized Group Trial Balance to standardize heterogeneous financial statement presentations; (2) a Matrix Reconciliation to identify and validate reciprocal intra-group transactions before elimination; (3) a Consolidation Reporting Package integrating financial statements and disclosure schedules; and (4) a standardized consolidation workflow. The proposed methodology harmonizes heterogeneous financial reporting structures at the reporting level without requiring changes to entity-specific accounting systems. This study contributes to the literature by providing a practical and replicable harmonization methodology for organizations preparing consolidated financial statements for the first time.

Abstract

Mulching is a soil and water conservation technique widely used in cultivation systems. Mulching functions to suppress groundwater evaporation, inhibit weed growth, and improve soil physical conditions. This study was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of mulching time on the growth of cashew (Anacardium occidentale) seedlings. The study was conducted at the Faculty of Military Logistics Vocational, Indonesian Defense University, Belu, East Nusa Tenggara Province, and was conducted in April–May 2026 using a single-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and using three treatments: P0 (control), P1 (mulching 7 days after planting), and P2 (mulching 14 days after planting). The parameters tested in this study were plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, root length, wet weight of the stover, and dry weight of the stover. The results showed that mulching did not significantly affect the growth of cashew seedlings. Mulching 7 days after planting gave the highest growth results in the parameters of plant height (18 cm), stem diameter (5.87 mm), number of leaves (6 pieces), root length (8.33 cm), wet weight of the stover (6.53 g), and dry weight of the stover (2.67 g).

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of body weight on scrotal circumference in Bali bulls. Bali cattle are one of Indonesia's indigenous genetic resources with high adaptability, good productivity, and an important role in national beef production. The study employed a descriptive method through observation and evaluation of exterior performance. The research sample consisted of 10 Bali bulls grouped by age, namely 1–2 years and 3–5 years, with five animals in each group. The parameters observed were body weight and scrotal circumference. Body weight was measured using a manual scale, while scrotal circumference was measured using a measuring tape at the largest part of the scrotum. Data were analyzed using regression and correlation analyses with IBM SPSS version 25.0. The results showed that the average body weight of Bali bulls was 260.80 ± 7.80 kg, while the average scrotal circumference was 25.60 ± 3.27 cm. Regression analysis revealed a very strong positive relationship between body weight and scrotal circumference, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.976 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.952. These results indicate that 95.2% of the variation in scrotal circumference was influenced by body weight, while the remaining 4.8% was affected by other factors such as age, genetics, nutrition, health status, and management practices. The regression equation obtained was Y = 250.054 + 5.910X. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that body weight has a highly significant effect on the scrotal circumference of Bali bulls. An increase in body weight is associated with an increase in scrotal circumference. Therefore, body weight can be used as one of the selection criteria for superior breeding bulls to support the improvement of productivity and genetic quality of Bali cattle.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the suboptimal implementation of government policies in the education sector for the Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) community in Sukajadi Village, Bathin VIII District, Sarolangun Regency. Although the government has implemented various educational programs, access to and participation in education remain low due to economic constraints, socio-cultural factors, and inadequate educational facilities and infrastructure. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of government policies in the education sector and identify the factors that hinder their implementation for the Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) community. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects were selected using purposive sampling, involving the Sarolangun Regency Education Office, Pundi Sumatra Foundation, the Jenang (traditional leader) of the Suku Anak Dalam, and members of the Suku Anak Dalam community in Sukajadi Village. The primary research instrument was the researcher, supported by observation, interview, and documentation guidelines. Data credibility was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation, while data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of government policies has been carried out through the provision of teachers, community learning centers, educational assistance, and mentoring programs by the government and the Pundi Sumatra Foundation. However, the implementation has not yet been optimal due to low public awareness of the importance of education, family economic limitations, the community's semi-nomadic lifestyle, and limited road access and educational facilities. It can be concluded that the implementation of government policies in the education sector has been carried out but still requires stronger collaboration among stakeholders to ensure the effective and sustainable fulfillment of educational rights for the Suku Anak Dalam community.

Abstract

The increasing productivity of cocoa in East Nusa Tenggara generates cocoa pod husk waste that has the potential to be utilized as organic compost. This study aimed to determine the effect of cocoa pod husk compost application on the growth of cocoa seedlings (Theobroma cacao L.) and to identify the most effective dosage. The research was conducted from April to June 2026 at the Green House of the Military Logistics Vocational Faculty, Republic of Indonesia Defense University, Belu Regency, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments, namely P0 (without compost), P1 (50 g/polybag), P2 (75 g/polybag), P3 (100 g/polybag), and P4 (150 g/polybag), each replicated three times. The results showed that the application of cocoa pod husk compost improved the growth of cocoa seedlings. Treatment P4 (150 g/polybag) produced the best results with a plant height of 20.44 cm, stem diameter of 6.19 mm, number of leaves of 6.67, leaf length of 12.17 cm, leaf width of 6.61 cm, fresh root weight of 6.61 g, and dry root weight of 2.46 g. Cocoa pod husk compost has the potential to be used as an organic fertilizer to improve the growth of cocoa seedlings.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between Body Condition Score (BCS) and testicular size (length) in male Bali cattle. The research method employed was quantitative correlational using simple linear regression and correlation analysis. The research sample consisted of 8 male Bali bulls aged 2 years old, categorized into variations of BCS groups 2, 3, and 4. Data collection was conducted through visual assessment and palpation to determine the BCS status, alongside macromorphometric measurements of testicular length using a measuring tape. The results showed an average BCS value of 3,000 ± 0,756. Based on the BCS grading scale of 2–4, a BCS value of 3 indicates that the Bali bulls were in ideal condition. Meanwhile, the average testicular length obtained was 8,813 ± 1,033 cm, reflecting normal and uniform growth of the external reproductive organs for the 2-year-old age group. Based on the simple linear regression analysis, the regression equation was formulated as Y = 6.188 + 0.875 X with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.640, indicating a direct (positive) relationship with a moderate-to-strong level of closeness. However, the significance test showed that the relationship between the two variables was not significantly different or non-significant (P >0.05) since the calculated r-value (0.640) was smaller than the table r-value (0.707). The study concludes that 2-year-old male Bali bulls exhibit proportional body condition and normal testicular length with a positive-linear relationship, though its statistical effect is non-significant. This proves that the development of testicular size is not solely determined by temporary physical body condition but is strongly influenced by other internal and external factors such as genetics, age, body weight, and environment. Therefore, BCS assessment is suggested only as an initial indicator, while the selection of superior bulls must still be carried out comprehensively by involving other reproductive morphometric parameters.
