Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to improve the skills of participants, especially housewives, in processing wood waste into products with sales value, while empowering them economically and socially. The methods used include three main stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the planning stage, training needs are identified, materials are prepared, and tools and materials are procured. Implementation is carried out through the delivery of theoretical materials and direct practice, where participants are trained to process wood waste into products such as plaques and wall decorations. Evaluation is carried out qualitatively through interviews and open questionnaires to understand the experiences and perceptions of participants. The results show that the majority of participants felt that this training was very useful, although there were suggestions to extend the duration of the practical sessions. Participants also showed good abilities in producing creative products that have the potential to provide additional income. The implications of this activity are an increase in skills and economic opportunities for participants, as well as a positive contribution to the environment through the utilization of wood waste. This training also shows that a practice-based approach is very effective in developing new skills in the creative economy sector.

Abstract

Waste cooking oil is a waste product that is often not utilized optimally by the community and can pollute the environment if not managed properly. On the other hand, students at the Ibnu Hajar Community Learning Center (PKBM) and the PKK group in Sirahan Village, Magelang Regency, need to develop their entrepreneurial skills to support local economic growth. This community service project aims to provide training to both partner groups on utilizing waste cooking oil as a primary material for making aromatherapy candles. The methods employed in this activity include education and hands-on training. The results of the community service program showed that this program had a positive impact on the partner groups, namely the students of PKBM Ibnu Hajar and the PKK group in Sirahan Village. Training participants not only learned how to produce aromatherapy candles from waste cooking oil, but also gained new skills with the potential to enhance the local economy through environmentally sustainable entrepreneurship.

Abstract

The provision of sustainable clean water has become an essential need for the community in Madura, driven by social capital in the form of collective care. The clean water challenges in the targeted area arise from distribution issues due to the distance of the water source from residential areas and its location at a lower elevation, requiring the construction of several towers and reservoirs to reach the end users, both for household and institutional needs. This community service initiative has partially addressed the clean water needs in Dusun Batu Bintang, Desa Amparaan, but has not yet been able to meet the full clean water needs of the entire Desa Amparaan. However, the initiative has had a significant impact by raising public awareness about the importance of collaborative water resource management. The program has also successfully engaged all village stakeholders in the development process, demonstrating that clean water access for all residents of Desa Amparaan can be achieved through community social capital, namely care and mutual cooperation. Moving forward, this initiative is expected to act as a catalyst for further efforts to meet the clean water needs of the entire village

Abstract

The cooperation between the Jombang Regency Government and the Community Service Team of the University of Surabaya identified target partners for bamboo-woven from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to develop their businesses at national and international levels. However, problems related to productivity and human resource capabilities are a priority to be resolved. To resolve this, the purpose is to provide assistance and renew technology to increase the productivity of Jombang Regency's superior products from bamboo through community service. The strategy carried out at the beginning was to conduct socialization. The next stage is implementing the community service program: training, assistance, and application of technology. The final stage is program evaluation. Meanwhile, the ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) method was chosen for this Community Service program. The results identified five components: Discovery, Dream, Design, Define, and Destiny. The assets and potentials owned by the target partners are infrastructure and human resources. The dream is to develop their businesses at national and international levels, to be able to meet the needs of community demand, and to innovate more modern products. The program design was grouped into four clusters: production, products, management, and marketing. Furthermore, the community service team together with one bamboo-woven partner determines the program activities: Increasing assets (bamboo cutting machines and thinning machines), increasing product diversity, increasing management capabilities, and increasing product promotion media. Finally, implementing program activities to increase machine assets and machine operation training, innovative product workshops, financial literacy training, and photographing bamboo woven products for components in the e-catalog. Finally, partners have bamboo-cutting and slicing technologies, digital administration, and innovative products. In conclusion, this Community Service program needs to be continued to achieve the Target Partners' desire to become MSMEs with national and international markets

Abstract

The increasing demand for innovative and interactive learning media in education highlights the importance of enhancing teachers' digital competencies. This community service program, conducted under the Community Partnership Program (PKM), aimed to improve the digital skills of teachers at Integrated Islamic Elementary Schools in Pamekasan, particularly in utilizing Canva to create engaging and effective learning materials. The primary challenge identified was the low proficiency of teachers in using technology for developing creative and up-to-date media. To address this, a participatory approach was employed, combining theoretical instruction with hands-on practice. The training was implemented in stages, starting with basic hardware literacy and progressing to the application of Canva features for classroom-appropriate learning media. Strategies included providing training modules, live demonstrations, and group discussions to foster collaborative idea-sharing. The program's outcomes revealed a significant improvement in teachers' digital competence. Pre- and post-training assessments demonstrated an increase in hardware proficiency from 57.4% to 73.4%, alongside notable enhancements in Canva-related skills, such as creativity, usage frequency, and diversity of learning materials produced. Despite challenges posed by the limited digital literacy of senior teachers, the program successfully equipped participants with the skills to develop more engaging and diverse digital learning resources, ultimately fostering greater student participation and motivation..
