Abstract

This research was carried out at SMA Deli Murni Bandar Baru with the aim of describing the students' family and school environments as well as describing students' academic achievements in accounting subjects and knowing the influence of the family and school environment on students' academic achievements in accounting subjects. This research used a descriptive verification approach with a sample size of 110 students from a total population of 148. The population consisted of 11th grade of IPS (Social) students at SMA Deli Murni Bandar Baru. Sampling uses random sampling which is the method used to take samples. Information on student learning achievement was obtained from documents, while information on the home and school environment was obtained from distributing questionnaires. Estimated coefficient of determination (KD) was used to assess the data and evaluate it using Pearson product moment correlation calculations. Based on the findings of the Pearson product moment correlation calculation, a correlation of 0.468 was obtained for the family environment variable (X1) and a significance level of 0.05 for the school environment variable (X2) on student learning achievement in accounting subjects. Pay attention to the findings of the coefficient of determination for the family environment (21.9%) and the school environment (34.9%) to find out the influence. The findings of the statistical hypothesis test using the t test at a significance level of 0.05 show that the home and school environment significantly improves student learning achievement in accounting courses. Based on research findings, student learning achievement is positively influenced by the home and school environment.

Abstract

This study offers a fresh perspective on Linguistic Landscapes (LL) by employing language mapping to analyze the frequency and distribution of language usage. The population data comprised 60 signboards from coffee shops and tourism spots in Padang city center. Qualitative methods were utilized for data collection, with analysis conducted using GIS (Geographic et al.) and Adobe Photoshop, representing innovative approaches in LL research. The analysis commenced with quantifying language usage, encompassing mono/bi/multilingual forms on coffee shop signboards. Subsequently, language mapping was employed to illustrate language distribution and highlight motif of linguistic dominance that used on coffee shop signboards in specific areas on the map. Findings revealed the presence of 12 languages on coffee shop signage, reflecting the global influence and societal preference for modernization. Despite the prominence of foreign languages, Indonesian emerged as the most frequently used, indicating relatively successful implementation of Presidential Regulation No.63 of 2019, although inconsistencies persist

Abstract

This study aims at analyzing the forms, functions, and meanings of humor used by preachers in delivering religious sermons. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method that focuses on the act of identifying, classifying, analyzing data that has been obtained, and describing it in the form of language as it is. Qualitative research emphasizes the depth of data with the researcher as a key instrument in the research. The research data consists of humorous utterances delivered by preachers in Islamic religious sermons, namely Ustadz Anwar Zahid, Ustadz Wijayanto, and Ustadz Da'as Latif. The form of humor is analyzed using morphosyntax theory, the function of humor is linked to sociolinguistic theory, while the meaning of humor is dissected using semantic and pragmatic theory. The results of the study show that there are five dominant forms of humor that appear in dakwah humor, namely line humor, dialogue, stories, poems, and wordplay. The use of humor as a strategy in dakwah is proven to be effective in achieving its communicative goals. Humor helps make religious messages easier to understand and remember by the audience. This is because humor can simplify complex concepts and make them more interesting for listeners. This study also found that humor is not only a form of entertainment, but also an effective communication tool in spreading religious teachings.

Abstract

This study investigates the flouting of conversational maxims by Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the "13 Tahun Mata Najwa: Bergerak Bergerak Berdampak" episode of the Mata Najwa talk show. By analyzing the dialogues of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the research aims to understand the strategies and reasons behind the flouting of Grice's maxims in a high-stakes political context. Using Grice's Cooperative Principle as a framework, the research identifies and analyzes instances where the maxims of quantity, quality, relevance, and manner are flouted. The analysis reveals that Gibran and Prabowo using strategies such as ambiguity, sarcasm, and metaphor are also used. Notably, Gibran is identified as the more frequent flouter of maxims compared to Prabowo. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of political communication and the strategic use of language in media interactions.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to produce Linktree learning media products aimed at testing aspects of the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of Linktree-based interactive learning media to improve history learning outcomes in class XI MAN 2 Medan Model. The research and development method used is the ADDIE model. The research results show: (1) The material expert validation test is very feasible with 93.75%. (2) The validation test for media experts is very feasible at 95%. (3) validation test of learning design experts in the very feasible category with 100%. (4) Individual trials in very feasible criteria with 83.92%. (5) The small group trial criteria were very feasible, with 89.83%. (6) Field trials met very feasible criteria with 94.06%, with an overall average result of 93.02%. Then the results of the experiment using Linktree-based interactive learning media using the problem-based learning model approach in the experimental class had an average learning outcome of 89.9, while using Linktree-based interactive learning media with the cooperative learning jigsaw model approach in the control class had an average value of 83.8. Based on the independent T-test, the effectiveness test showed a Sig value. (2-tailed) 0.000 is <0.05, which means it is significant. It was concluded that the Linktree-based interactive learning media with the problem-based learning model approach was effectively used to improve history learning outcomes. Based on the N-Gain calculation, a result of 60.96 was obtained in the quite effective category.
