Abstract

This study aims to develop an analysis model and psychosocial and cultural interventions that specifically adapt and extend Martin Seligman's proposed framework of happiness in the workplace. Focusing on the work context in Colombia, this research poses the question: "How can a model adjusted to the cultural and social context of Colombia enhance understanding and practices of happiness at work, compared to Seligman's model?". In terms of methodology, this research employs comprehensive document analysis, selecting sources based on their relevance to the positive psychology framework and its application in the Colombian work environment. Selection criteria include the novelty of the research, relevance to the local work context, and contributions to the understanding of happiness at work. The analysis process incorporates a qualitative approach to identify common themes and specific nuances related to work subjectivity and mental health. The research results indicate that the adjusted analysis model and interventions provide new insights into the dynamics of happiness at work in Colombia, highlighting the importance of cultural and contextual factors in designing and implementing interventions. Specifically, this model reveals that approaches considering local social and cultural values as well as specific economic challenges can be more effective in promoting positive work subjectivity and mental health. Implications suggest that adapting the workplace happiness model to include specific cultural and social considerations can enhance the effectiveness of psychosocial and cultural interventions. This research lays the groundwork for developing more focused and relevant strategies to improve worker well-being in Colombia and similar contexts.

Abstract

Early marriage has emerged as a critical issue in societal development, especially among adolescents, attracting attention at both international and national levels. With the prevalence of early marriage reaching up to 41.9% in some countries, including Indonesia, this issue demands special attention to mitigate its negative impacts on education, health, and social welfare of adolescents. This study aims to analyze the relationship between adolescents' knowledge and their attitudes towards early marriage in Sindang Heula Village, Serang Regency, in 2023, focusing on how specific knowledge about the consequences of early marriage influences adolescents' attitudes. The research methodology employs a cross-sectional design, selected to evaluate the influence of knowledge on adolescents' attitudes towards early marriage at a specific point in time, involving a total sample of 91 respondents from the adolescent population in Sindang Heula Village, which totals 1,090 individuals. Univariate analysis results show that 55.0% of adolescents have insufficient knowledge about early marriage, and an equal number exhibit negative attitudes towards early marriage. Bivariate analysis reveals a significant relationship between knowledge and adolescents' attitudes towards early marriage. Based on these findings, this study recommends that stakeholders, especially health professionals, regularly conduct socialization or education about early marriage to ensure that the community, particularly adolescents, understand the impact of early marriage, thereby encouraging a decrease in early marriage rates.

Abstract

Chronic Renal Failure (CKD) is a disease that occurs when the kidneys fail to maintain the body's fluid composition. Hemodialysis is one of the therapies to replace deteriorating kidney function. Deteriorating kidney function conditions cause the ability of erythropoietin to be disrupted and anemia occurs, so checking hemoglobin levels is useful to control the patient's hemoglobin levels and creatinine examination to detect the severity of kidney function disorders. This study aims to determine the relationship of hemodialysis therapy with hemoglobin and creatinine levels in CKD patients at Baptist Hospital, Kediri City. This study is important to obtain information and provide education to patients regarding the significant effect of hemodialysis therapy for chronic renal failure patients so that chronic renal failure patients are motivated and disciplined to carry out hemodialysis therapy according to a set schedule. The design of this study was a cross-sectional survey with independent variables being hemodialysis therapy in patients with chronic renal failure and dependent variables being hemoglobin and creatinine levels. 30 respondents were using the quota sampling method. The results of this study were the average examination results of hemoglobin levels of 9.0 g/dL and creatinine of 4.45 mg/dL. Based on the Pearson Correlation test, the correlation coefficient (r) is 0.369, and the p-value = (0.045) > alpha = 0.05 (5%), thus H1 is accepted. The relationship between hemoglobin and creatinine levels in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing therapy hemodialysis at Baptist Hospital in Kediri City.

Abstract

Blood circulation disorders in post-stroke patients can cause cognitive disorders. Cognitive disorders in post-stroke patients can include memory impairment, difficulty speaking, difficulty understanding things, difficulty communicating, and mood disorders. The presence of cognitive disorders in stroke patients can worsen the patient's post-stroke condition, requiring longer treatment time. This study aimed to identify the level of cognitive disorders in post-stroke patients. This research is a descriptive study to identify dementia in post-stroke patients. The sampling technique was accidental sampling for two weeks at the Neurology Polytechnic and Stroke Clinic at one of the hospitals in Bandung, totaling 83 people. The questionnaire used in this research was the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE). The collected data is analyzed and presented using frequency and percentage distributions. The results of this study showed that the majority of post-stroke patients (72.3%) did not experience dementia or did not experience cognitive impairment, 15.66% experienced mild cognitive impairment, and 12.04% experienced severe cognitive impairment. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that some post-stroke patients do not experience cognitive impairment, but some post-stroke patients experience severe cognitive impairment. Cognitive impairment in stroke patients can worsen the patient's condition and increase the length of treatment time. Based on the results of this research, health workers especially nurses, are expected to be able to carry out early assessments and provide particular interventions for post-stroke patients aimed at preventing the worsening of dementia and improving the patient's cognitive abilities. The intervention can be in the form of education, psychological support, and social support in the form of counseling during rehabilitation.

Abstract

Preoperative carcinoma mammae patients frequently experience diminished self-efficacy, which can impede their ability to cope with medical procedures and affect recovery outcomes. Family support is considered a crucial factor in enhancing self-efficacy, offering emotional, informational, and instrumental assistance that strengthens patients’ confidence. This study aims to explore the relationship between family support and self-efficacy in preoperative breast cancer patients at Abdul Moeloek Hospital, Lampung Province, in 2023. Utilizing a cross-sectional design, 78 respondents were selected through non-probability sampling. Family support was measured using a validated family support questionnaire, while self-efficacy was assessed through the Strategies Used by People to Promote Health (SUPPH) questionnaire. The results revealed that 85.9% of patients reported high levels of family support, and 88.5% exhibited strong self-efficacy. Statistical analysis, using the Chi-Square test, indicated a significant relationship between family support and self-efficacy (p = 0.003), reinforcing the theoretical framework of Bandura’s self-efficacy model, which posits that social support enhances individuals' confidence in overcoming challenges. The findings suggest that integrating structured family support programs into preoperative care can improve self-efficacy, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes. This research contributes to the understanding of psychosocial factors in cancer care, emphasizing the need for educational interventions targeting families to optimize patient recovery.

Abstract

This study explores the role of ideology in social psychology and psychoanalysis by drawing on the theoretical approaches of key figures such as Martín-Baró, Moscovici, Lacan, and Žižek. The research highlights how ideology functions as a structure influencing human subjectivity and actions, particularly through the mechanism of fantasy as articulated in Lacanian theory. Ideology is not only seen as an explicit system of beliefs but also as an unconscious process that shapes identification and social interaction. Through in-depth analysis, this study demonstrates that fantasy plays a crucial role in reproducing ideological structures, thereby enabling the persistence of the existing social order. The study also expands our understanding of how gender and political ideologies are produced and reproduced in everyday life. By integrating psychoanalytic concepts and ideological analysis, this research offers a new perspective on understanding human subjectivity within a social context and proposes a more comprehensive theoretical framework for analyzing the relationship between social psychology and ideology. These findings are expected to contribute significantly to the existing literature and encourage further research in this field.

Abstract

Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) are a prevalent form of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), especially those undergoing urinary catheterization. It is estimated that UTIs affect up to 25% of catheterized patients, significantly impacting morbidity and healthcare costs (World Health Organization, 2021). This study aims to determine how health education regarding urogenital hygiene can increase knowledge and prevent infection for patients undergoing urinary catheterization. This research is quantitative descriptive using a case study approach. A one-group pre-test post-test design was employed to collect data through the administration of pre-test and post-test knowledge assessments before and after health education. The results demonstrated a significant increase in knowledge scores from 67 to 93, indicating the effectiveness of health education in enhancing knowledge about urogenital hygiene. Furthermore, observation of signs and symptoms of UTIs showed a decrease in symptoms during the patient's treatment, highlighting the positive impact of health education. Providing urogenital hygiene education effectively increases knowledge and mitigates the risk of UTIs during patient care.
