Abstract

This study analyzes the management of sexual health information among adolescents in Ayula Selatan Village, Gorontalo, amidst the challenges of social taboos, conservative values, and vulnerability to myths. The Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) was used in this study. The purpose of this study is to identify the message processing pathways, i.e. central or peripheral pathways, used by adolescents. This study adopted a mixed methods method with an explanatory sequential design to complete the analysis in this study. Quantitative data from 76 respondents measured adolescents' understanding of sexual health myths and facts, combined with in-depth interview data from selected respondents. The results showed an imbalance in adolescents' knowledge about myths and facts related to sexual health. In addition, information about sexual health tends to be obtained from digital media without assistance from parents or teachers. A sense of taboo and embarrassment to ask questions is one of the reasons why adolescents discuss with peers rather than adults. Another interesting finding shows that adolescents also discuss with artificial intelligence to validate their knowledge about sexual health. ELM analysis found that the majority of adolescents used peripheral pathways in this study. They accepted messages based on non-message cues such as influencer popularity, language style and aesthetic visualization. The adolescents disregarded the quality of arguments. The dominance of this pathway has consequences in the form of temporary changes in attitudes and the risk of spreading misinformation. This study suggests designing adaptive educational programs and strengthening the role of family and school as credible sources.

Abstract

The research team at PT X in Bekasi set out to determine whether there was a correlation between the stress levels of production division workers and their immediate surroundings.  One hundred manufacturing division employees from PT X are the subjects of this quantitative study.  Statistical analysis with SPSS software was used to examine the study data.  According to the study's findings, there is a negative relationship between the work environment variable and work stress (r=-0.205).  As a result, we accept Ha as the alternative hypothesis and reject H0.  If researchers want their findings to be more broadly applicable, they should use samples that are more evenly distributed across gender, age, and occupational status in future studies

Abstract

Through credit disbursement based on prudential principles, banking plays a vital role in the national economy. Often, the credit drawdown process requires administrative support from a notary, who issues a covernote as a temporary statement while collateral documents are being processed. However, the lack of clear regulations regarding the legal status of covernotes leads to legal uncertainty, irregularities, and risks for banks. The objective of this research is to examine the notary's liability in issuing covernotes as a basis for credit disbursement and as a form of legal protection for banking creditors. This study employs a normative juridical method, utilizing statutory, conceptual, and case approaches. The findings indicate that while a covernote is not an original deed, its issuance remains the professional responsibility of the notary. Conversely, legal protection for banks can only be achieved through the application of prudential principles, the completeness of credit agreements, and recourse (regress) against the notary if a violation is proven. This research suggests the need for clear regulations regarding the utilization of covernotes in the banking industry.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the use of symbolism in the novel Laut Bercerita by Leila S. Chudori through the lens of Roland Barthes’ semiotic theory. The novel contains a range of signs that depict traumatic experiences, state violence, and resistance against efforts to erase memory. The research employed content analysis with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data consisting of narrative excerpts, dialogues, and descriptive passages were examined using three levels of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth. The findings showed that the five central symbols in the novel namely the sea, waves, four plates prepared every Sunday, the poem “On the Day of My Death,” and fish constructed layered meanings that functioned not only as aesthetic devices but also as ideological representations. These symbols illustrated how political violence penetrated domestic life, how the natural landscape was used to mask brutality, and how words persisted even when the body no longer existed. The study indicated that symbolism in the novel played an important role in shaping readers’ understanding of history, memory, and human suffering. It also demonstrated that literature can serve as a space to preserve memory and to foster conversations about past violence

Abstract

In Indonesian banking practice, secured financing frequently involves the use of a Power of Attorney to Encumber Mortgage (Surat Kuasa Membebankan Hak Tanggungan/SKMHT) prior to the execution of the Deed of Granting Mortgage (Akta Pemberian Hak Tanggungan/APHT). The SKMHT functions as a temporary authorization for the Land Deed Official (PPAT) or Notary to execute the APHT; however, this instrument does not independently create a valid in rem security right. This article provides an in-depth analysis of the legal certainty and executorial power of financing agreements that have been disbursed but are supported solely by an SKMHT without the completion of a subsequent APHT. In addition, this study examines the responsibilities of banks and notaries/PPAT in safeguarding the legal certainty of collateral. The research employs a normative juridical approach, analyzing relevant regulations (the Mortgage Law and the Indonesian Civil Code) and reviewing Supreme Court decisions to assess how the norms are applied in practice. The findings indicate that an SKMHT without an APHT lacks executorial force (parate executie) because the mortgage right has not yet been established, thereby positioning the bank merely as a concurrent creditor. This study underscores the urgency of strict internal controls and effective coordination between banks and notaries/PPAT as essential strategies in managing the legal risks associated with secured financing

Abstract

The integration of the Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) with the National Identity Number (NIK) has heightened the sensitivity of taxpayer data, obliging the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) as data controller to comply with Indonesia’s Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection (PDP Law). However, the September 2024 breach of 6.6 million NPWP records raises legal accountability concerns. This study examines (1) the legal framework for NPWP data protection under the PDP Law and (2) DJP’s liability for the breach. Employing a normative juridical method with statutory and conceptual approaches, primary and secondary legal sources were analyzed qualitatively. Findings confirm that NPWP constitutes specific personal data, and DJP violated its accountability obligation under Article 47. Such violation warrants administrative sanctions per Article 57, yet no enforcement has occurred. The study concludes that DJP bears juridical responsibility and must be sanctioned to uphold the rule of law and protect citizens’ constitutional right to privacy

Abstract

Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection mandates the establishment of an independent supervisory agency to ensure the effective implementation of data protection norms in Indonesia. However, as of the end of 2025, this agency has not yet been established, creating an institutional vacuum that has serious implications for the effectiveness of data protection officers and the accountability of data controllers. This study aims to analyse the legal impact of the absence of a supervisory agency on data protection officers and its implications for the responsibilities of data controllers and processors. Using a normative juridical approach with a legislative approach, this study shows that without a supervisory agency, data protection officers are in a vulnerable position: they are operationally responsible but not legally protected. They are burdened with strict normative obligations but do not have formal protection mechanisms in the event of data breaches. On the other hand, the obligations of data controllers as stipulated in Article 47 of the PDP Law become immeasurable and declarative because there are no effective verification, enforcement, or dispute resolution mechanisms. The findings indicate that the legal architecture of the PDP Law is incomplete without an independent supervisory agency. Furthermore, the absence of a supervisory agency hinders the development of professional standards, technical guidelines, and non-litigation dispute resolution forums. The research recommendations include accelerating the establishment of a supervisory agency and issuing a Government Regulation that guarantees independence, competence, and legal protection for the data protection officer as a key actor in national personal data governance.

Abstract

One of the most effective ways to assess how well a business creates value for its shareholders is by examining its financial performance. Such performance is expected to be largely driven by strategic instruments, including capital structure management, managerial ownership, and transparency in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. This research seeks to analyze the influence of three key factors on corporate financial performance. Adopting a quantitative research design, the study relies on secondary data derived from the annual and sustainability reports of firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sample covers 20 companies that were consistently classified within the SRI KEHATI Index over the 2019–2023 period, resulting in 100 firm-year observations. The empirical findings reveal that managerial ownership does not exert a statistically significant impact on financial performance. Conversely, ESG disclosure is found to have a significant positive relationship with financial performance, whereas capital structure exhibits a significant negative association. These findings suggest that strengthening ESG governance and optimizing debt utilization levels are essential steps toward promoting sustainable corporate financial health

Abstract

The intersection between security communications and the evolving political landscape of Generation Z creates a complex field of study, requiring a deep understanding of cultural shifts, technological advances, and the unique socio-political awareness of this demographic group. Generation Z, often described as the digital generation, exhibits different patterns of information consumption, communication, and political engagement compared to previous generations. The pervasive influence of social media, increasing reliance on digital platforms for political information, and scepticism towards conventional institutions shape how Gen Z views and responds to security-related messages. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for rethinking security communication in a way that aligns with Gen Z's values, addresses their specific concerns, and encourages informed decision-making in an era of unprecedented digital connectivity and evolving security threats.
