Abstract

Banana hump is one part of the banana plant that is still very rarely used. The Banana hump can be an item with a selling value because it contains high carbohydrates, fiber, and calcium to be an alternative food ingredient. The banana hump can be turned into nutrient-rich flour. Community empowerment to process banana hump into something useful and can be a pilot business for residents is one of the keys to this success of this activity. This service will provide benefits to various parties, including for community service participants, for the counseling implementation team, for universities, and for the government. The purpose of this activity is to introduce and train the skills of making flour made from banana humps, which we named "Tebosang" for the community of Balai Makam Village, Bathin Solapan District, Bengkalis Regency. The methods used include site surveys, interactive training preparation, mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation. Making flour from banana hump started with a waste of old banana hump, cleaned the surface, then sliced thin approximately 0.5 cm. The hump then washed and then soaked with whiting for about one hour, then rinsed and dried. The dried hump slices are then blended and then sifted so that they become flour. The community's enthusiasm was relatively high at the time of the training, shown by the community's involvement at the demonstration. The monitoring and evaluation results show that the community already understands how to make flour from the banana hump. The result also showed that the village community is already producing "tebosang" flour, which has commercial potential, a start-up for micro, small and medium enterprises in each community.

Abstract

Covid-19 has infected many people in Indonesia, with the number of confirmed cases increasing every day; around 315,714 people have been confirmed positive for Covid-19 (data on 7 October 2020 from the covid19.go.id website). The author's team conducted this analysis intending to create a time series model of the total number of people infected with Covid-19 and predict the peak of the Covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia with the hope that the resulting model can be an initial guideline in preparation for the peak of the Covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia. The author's team analyzed logistic models and forecasting models with FB Prophet. Prediction using the logistic model results in the maximum number of cases (during peak conditions) in Indonesia of 669,595, with the peak of the outbreak occurring after 870 days (calculated starting on October 7, 2020), namely on June 22, 2022. This is proven and can be compared with the results of forecasting analysis with FBProphet. In a forecasting analysis using FB Prophet, the results show that cases of Covid-19 infection in Indonesia will continue to rise. This analysis results in a prediction that on October 22, 2020, there will be 375,393 people infected with Covid-19 in Indonesia.

Abstract

As we know, the life of the people of Tanjung Pauh Hamlet, Tanjung Belit Village, Rokan Hulu Regency is still fairly traditional. The problem discussed in this research is concerned with the sugar palm farmers in Tanjung Pauh hamlet. The palm sugar produced is very popular with consumers because of its pure taste without a mixture of preservatives or chemicals, and because the manufacturing process prioritizes quality. It's just that due to a shortage of sap water, the production of palm sugar in Tanjung Pauh hamlet can be said to be very little to meet the needs of the community itself. Therefore, we tried to do research by conducting a survey of the location of the palm trees, the location of the palm sugar making, and collecting data on the needs of the palm farmers in Tanjung Pauh hamlet. This study aims to provide guidance to the community of Tanjung Pauh hamlet as a hamlet that has the potential to develop income through improving the quality and marketing of palm sugar. We gave a little idea to the palm farmers in Tanjung Pauh hamlet to produce palm sugar, which is palm sugar which is usually in the form of blocks, which is now being innovated into the form of ant sugar, in order to attract consumers' attention to love palm sugar in Tanjung Pauh hamlet.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has provided various changes in all areas of life. Therefore, support is needed from various parties in efforts to prevent and spread Covid-19. One of them is through the Kuliah Kerja Nyata program organized by university and carried out independently by students in their respective neighborhoods. As an intra-curricular program, KKN becomes a bridge in transferring theoretical concepts to practical life in society. Through mentoring carried out with Field Supervisors, students are asked to compile a program of activities that can produce output in the form of educational activities to products. The resulting output is expected to be a step in preventing transmission of Covid-19. The method used is interactive guidance, through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and mentoring between lecturers and students. This is done as part of the consultation and assistance activities so that students who carry out KKN Mandiri can achieve the goals and objectives of the activity. Besides, the existence of the KKN application called SIKANDO which has been designed by the University is expected to be a monitoring tool during KKN.

This is based on information from farmers who have never received training on feed manufacturing. Through the foster village program, knowledge and technology are given about techniques for making natural feed from lime water and spinach extract as a substitute for vitamalt which is quite expensive. The methods used in the Community activities of the foster Village are lectures, discussions and direct practice with POKDAKAN, starting with the preparation of spinach extract, trash fish, lime water, mixing and drying. The results of the evaluation of the counseling participants showed that 24 participants had never known about making natural feed from lime water and spinach extract as soka crab feed. After participating in this training activity there was an increase of 86.96% in knowledge about how to make natural feed. The partner's assessment of the implementation of this activity is 52.17% strongly agree that this natural feed can be made independently; 52.17% strongly agree that giving lime water and spinach extract to the artificial feed mixture of trash fish has an effect on the acceleration of the molting process in crabs and does not affect the survival of crabs; 60.87% strongly agreed that it could be an alternative livelihood; strongly agree that the molting process in soft-shell crab cultivation is the same as when the crabs are given a vitamolt, which is 20 days.

Abstract

Riau Province is one of the provinces in Indonesia with the problem of forest and land fires that always occur every year. There is a need for understanding and participation from various parties, not only the government but also the community in controlling land forest fires so that land forest fires no longer occur in Riau Province according to Presidential Instruction No.3 of 2020 concerning Forest and Land Fire Management. Therefore, there is a need for activities to increase the role and understanding of the law for the community in controlling forest and land fires in Riau Province, especially in Petapahan Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency. The service method is carried out using the waterfall model with eight stages of activity: (1) Problem Analysis; (2) Problem Identification; (3) Problem Formulation; (4) Development of Alternative Solutions; (5) Selection of the best alternative, (6) Application design, (7) Implementation; and (8) Testing. From these service activities, it was obtained as the result of an increase in the knowledge and understanding of the law of the community service participants regarding the control and handling of forest and land fires. This activity is carried out by evaluating the service participants by asking questions related to the service material that has been carried out. From an economic point of view, this activity is useful for communities around the forest so that they can enjoy the forest products they manage in the hope that there will be a stable economic increase and create jobs for future generations.

Abstract

The underfive of children is a high-risk group of nutritional problems during the Covid-19 pandemic due to lack of nutritious eating intake, increasingly difficult economic conditions, and child health services (Posyandu) activities were closed. The community service objective was to increase the role of nutrition support groups (posyandu lay workers) in an effort to prevent and overcome nutritional problems for children. The community service targets are 4 posyandu lay workers in Sialang Mungu district, Pekanbaru as well as families with nutritional problems. The method used nutrition training for posyandu lay worker, screening the nutritional status, guidance to make the simple food (bento), providing nutrition packages and making aquaponic as an effort to endurance nutrition. The success of this activity is measured through the increase of posyandu lay workers to perform nutritional monitoring, the success of making bento, and the increase of weight of children between 500 to 1000 grams. Training and mentoring for nutrition support groups was able to provide the necessary understanding in detecting toddler nutrition during pandemic and making efforts to improve the nutrition of children. Nutrition support groups have the main role to prevent and solve the problem of nutrition of children in the community in Pekanbaru.
