This community service activity aimed to disseminate information about medicinal plants identified through exploration and expeditions in Cisantana Village, and to enhance participants' skills in cultivating these valuable plants. The participants in this activity were members of the Dahlia Integrated Health Post Working Group and the Cisantana Village Government. The results of the activity revealed that there are 26 types of herbal plants in Cisantana Village. Furthermore, there was an increase in public understanding of the benefits of medicinal plants, from 65% to 80%, and an increase in understanding of how to cultivate medicinal plants, from 70% to 85%.

Abstract

Handwashing is one of the simplest yet most unattainable actions for millions of families worldwide. In an effort to address this issue, a pharmaceutical preparation in the form of paper soap was introduced and the optimization of natural waste utilization into valuable products was carried out. The aim of this program is to improve healthy living behavior in a university environment. The community service program was implemented through a semi-formal sharing session at the UUM SAC Building for 40 non-health UUM students. The success of this activity can be seen from the increased average value of the pre-test and post-test. This indicates that participants' understanding has increased after the sharing session.

Abstract

In the business world, especially in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), business legality and distribution permits are crucial aspects. Business legality refers to the legal status of a business, while a distribution permit is an official approval from the government to market a product or service. Both not only fulfill legal administrative requirements but also provide benefits and protection to business actors. The purpose of this community service is to socialize the importance of business legality and distribution permits for MSME food products to participants at the Batujajar Transit Apartment in West Bandung Regency. The methods used include lectures, discussions, and socialization related to both aspects. This activity succeeded in increasing participants' understanding of the importance of business legality and distribution permits. This increase is reflected in the positive feedback from participants, who actively asked about the permit processing process and expressed their intention to ensure business legality before launching a product. At the end of the activity, partners showed increased concern for business legality, which is expected to provide protection when marketing products and enhance public trust, allowing MSME businesses to develop further.

Abstract

Infrastructure development in Indonesia requires many civil engineering graduates, who play an important role in developing sustainable infrastructure to meet current needs. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2023, the Net Participation Rate (APM) for the 19-24 age group reached 20.63% for higher education, including both undergraduate and diploma programs. To support this development, the Community Service Team of the Faculty of Civil Engineering collaborated with SMA Negeri 3 Jakarta to organize an activity to introduce the role of civil engineering in infrastructure development. This activity aims to familiarize students with the role of civil engineering and assist them in exploring their interests and talents in this field. The method of implementing the activity includes delivering materials, demonstrating equipment in the laboratory, and conducting a questionnaire session to determine the level of student understanding. The results showed that the level of student understanding of civil engineering reached 42% in the "understand" category and 45.8% in the "very understand" category, out of a total of 24 participants.

Abstract

Injuries can occur due to direct physical pressure, excessive use of body parts, or accidental trauma during training and competition. Kinesiotaping is a method that can be used as a preventive and rehabilitative measure for injuries, thus helping athletes improve their performance, skills, and achievements in sports. However, Petanque athletes in South Sulawesi Province still have limited understanding of the application of kinesiotaping as an innovation in the treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries. Therefore, the purpose of this Community Service (PkM) is to provide education and practice of installing kinesiotaping to Petanque athletes in South Sulawesi Province. The method used is service learning (SL), which consists of three stages: pre-implementation, implementation, and post-implementation. The results of this activity show an increase in athletes' understanding and skills related to kinesiotaping. As many as 76.66% of participants now know about kinesiotaping, while 80% of participants know how to install kinesiotaping. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an increase in athletes' understanding and knowledge regarding the benefits and methods of installing kinesiotaping as an innovation in the prevention and treatment of sports injuries.

Abstract

Kebonduren Village has high pineapple production potential, but also produces increasing and unmanaged pineapple peel waste which has the potential to harm the community. One solution is to turn pineapple peel into a tepache probiotic drink, a Mexican drink that is fermented for 3-5 days. Tepache is useful for improving digestion and endurance thanks to its lactic acid bacteria content. The purpose of this community service is to create business opportunities for mothers of the Family Empowerment and Welfare (PKK) in Kebonduren Village. The methods applied include preparation, training, mentoring, and evaluation, with all participants filling out questionnaires before and after the training. The results of the training showed significant improvements; all participants not only understood the content of pineapple peel but were also able to make tepache probiotic drinks and knew their benefits. Before the training, 100% of participants had never made tepache, but after the training, 100% of participants succeeded in producing it. This shows the effectiveness of the training in improving the understanding and skills of PKK mothers, which is very important for the success of the community service program.

Abstract

Trangsan Village, Gatak District, Sukoharjo Regency, has faced environmental challenges related to waste management, particularly organic waste. The establishment of a Waste Bank has successfully addressed the issue of inorganic waste management. However, there has been a lack of innovation in the management of organic waste in an environmentally friendly manner. To address this issue, a community service team initiated a mentoring program for the production of eco-enzyme through the Waste Bank. This activity involved intensive socialization and mentoring for the community, especially the Waste Bank managers and Karang Taruna youth organization. The results of this program indicate an increase in community understanding and skills in processing organic waste, as well as the potential for developing eco-enzyme products as a sustainable environmental effort in Trangsan Village.
