Abstract

The environmental issue that has received the most attention from the world in the last few decades is global warming. Global warming is directly related to the amount of waste produced by humans, so waste reduction must be carried out by all levels of society. The method of reducing waste using the 3R system (Reuse, Reduce and Recycle) has not had a significant impact. Another alternative that can be applied is to create a waste bank. One of them is the Ngudi Peni Waste bank in Gupitan Village, Candimulyo District, Magelang Regency. This method of saving with waste is expected to have an economic impact on the community. This service activity used several methods, namely socialization, training, and assistance for the management of the Ngudi Peni Waste Bank. The results obtained from this service activity include the formation of the Ngudi Peni Waste Bank organizational structure, the creation of a waste catalog and administrative steps for waste management. In addition, effective promotion and communication media are also produced through social media and Public service Advertisement.

Home industry and MSMEs in Sidowayah Village, Polanharjo District, Klaten Regency are not fully developed. There are several productions of processed food and household crafts that are less than optimal, both in terms of production and marketing. Some of the problems related to marketing are that there is no digitalization yet. Some MSMEs have to go out of business during the Covid-19 pandemic. Even though during the Covid-19 pandemic, there is great potential to increase sales and ensure the continuity of product marketing from community-owned businesses. The results of the socialization activities related to the management of the home industry and MSMEs made them understand the urgency of digitizing MSMEs as an effort to widen their industrial market and to improve welfare and economic recovery during the pandemic.

Abstract

Paguyuban Mubalig Prenggan is an association of anti-corruption preachers under the coordination of the Muhammadiyah Branch Leaders who have cultural assets of karawitan art. Lately, the role of the anti-corruption preacher is very much needed as corruption in Covid-19 funds is increasingly rampant. Ironically, since the Covid-19 pandemic, the anti-corruption cultural da'wah activities of the Paguyuban Mubalig Prenggan have stopped completely. This is due to the lack of mastery of digital technology for virtual da'wah. The purpose of this community service program is to improve virtual cultural da'wah skills as an effort to prevent corruption during the Covid-19 pandemic. The implementation of the activity uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method with three stages, namely analysis of the current situation, collaboration of anti-corruption song creations, and virtual anti-corruption cultural propaganda training and assistance. This community service increases the empowerment of partners in three aspects. First, re-activating cultural da'wah which had been completely stopped. Second, the creation of "Anti-corruption Da'wah Gending" as a new material in the practice of musical art with Islamic da'wah nuances to prevent corruption. Third, increasing skills in using digital technology as a virtual da'wah medium to avoid crowds while reaching a wider congregation. This increase in community empowerment further strengthens the Prenggan village as an Anti-Corruption Village which has been selected by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) since 2013. The success of this community service program has serious implications for strengthening public attitudes and knowledge about anti-corruption in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Pinge Village is the first tourist village in Tabanan Regency which was officially inaugurated by Tabanan Regent Decree No. 337 of 2004 that concerning to Design Pinge Traditional Village as a Tourism Village. This village has several potentials as sources of attractions for tourists. These potentials include beautiful natural scenery, cool air, residential traditional housing, friendly people, and characteristics of rural tourism in the form of "trails" along village roads. The existing potential has not been managed optimally due to several obstacles, such as: 1) the English language skills of local tour guides are still low, especially the mastery of English vocabulary and 2) the management of homestays is not optimal, because most of the tourist activities are served by travel agents. This problem was overcome through 16-hour English short course activities, 8-hour guided mentoring, and comparative studies. As a result, the implementation of the English short course received positive responses from the participants, the village head, the manager of the Pinge Tourism Village, and the head of the Pokdarwis Pinge Asri. Statistically, there was an increase in participants' English proficiency by 22.14%. Mentoring and comparative studies on homestay management also received positive responses, even the homestay managers want this activity to be carried out continuously.

Abstract

The high oil content in fried products, including mushroom chips, can cause low quality chips. Chips contain a lot of oil which causes easy oxidation which can cause a rancid odor. This service aims to improve the quality of chips through the application of an oil draining spinner. The application of this machine is intended to reduce the maximum oil content in the oyster mushroom chips. The implementation stage begins with providing partners with a complete understanding of the tool. Furthermore, the engine performance test was carried out in the oil draining process, and the evaluation of the draining results is carried out. The results show that partners understand very well the parts, the function, and the working principle of the machine. Draining using the machine can effectively reduce the oil content of the chips, although a few chips were found to be damaged due to friction or impact with the machine wall. The draining capacity and resistance of the chips to not go rancid can be increased.
