Abstract

Tukak Village has abundant marine product potential and there are several MSMEs that focus on developing marine product processing businesses, one of which is kemplang. Not many kemplang products are halal certified due to lack of awareness and information obtained by business actors so that their market coverage is only at the district level. Halal certification is an important factor in the strategy to increase product sales by providing product halal information as an effort to protect consumers. This community service aims to increase knowledge and facilitate applications for halal certification. The program was carried out with the concept of sociopreneurship education through outreach and assistance to six MSMEs. The result of the program shows an increase in knowledge and awareness of MSME actors about the importance of halal certification for their products. Apart from that, all MSMEs have succeeded in producing halal certification application documents and have submitted them to the Indonesian Ulema Council.

Abstract

Old age is a life stage marked by changes that lead to a decline in bodily functions. One therapeutic approach employed for the elderly is group activity therapy, specifically focusing on foot exercises. The objective of this activity is to reduce morbidity among elderly individuals with diabetes mellitus. Engaging in foot exercises enhances blood circulation in elderly individuals suffering from diabetes mellitus, leading to increased strength in their leg muscles. The group activity therapy for elderly individuals with diabetes mellitus took place at Posbindu Seruni, attracting 19 participants. The activity involved group therapy sessions incorporating diabetic foot exercises. Based on the evaluation results, there was an increase in knowledge among TAK participants by 12.63%. Thus, health education and group activity therapy can be developed as sustainable health promotion initiatives. This approach aims to optimize the knowledge level of the elderly, facilitate a positive shift in their health behavior from maladaptive to adaptive, and help prevent the severity of diabetes mellitus through regular participation in diabetes foot exercises.

Gunung Manik is a village with a beautiful environment and well-preserved mountains. Its natural resources yield various abundant commodities, one of which is forest honey. The management of forest honey by farmers in Gunung Manik Village is conducted traditionally, with little attention paid to the preservation of bee colonies, mainly due to the harvesting of bees and their hives. This activity employs a direct and interactive discussion method, incorporating pre-tests and post-tests to gauge participants' comprehension of the presented material. The results of this program indicate that the residents of Gunung Manik Village have gained an understanding of the benefits of honey, leading to increased interest in regular honey consumption and the cultivation of forest honey. These developments are expected to have a positive economic impact on the residents of Gunung Manik Village.

Family medicinal plants (TOGA) offer a safe alternative treatment option since they rarely cause side effects, are easy to process and consume, and are relatively inexpensive. However, the residents of Bode Lor Village in Plumbon District, Cirebon Regency, prefer chemical drugs for their daily treatments. The objective of this community service initiative is to impart knowledge about the benefits of traditional medicinal plants and promote the cultivation of family medicinal plants (TOGA). The methods employed in this program encompass observation, outreach, counseling, and training in the preparation of infused water and instant granules, offering an alternative to traditional medicine that can be sold, marketed, and hold economic value. The program's results demonstrated an increase in residents' knowledge regarding the benefits of traditional medicine and raised awareness about planting medicinal plants around their homes. This also included an improvement in their skills in utilizing TOGA through the creation of infused water and instant granulated ginger, ultimately contributing to increased family income.
