Abstract

One of the RTs in Samarinda City that tries to beautify its surroundings is RT 19, Sei Keledang Village, Samarinda Seberang District. This Community Service (PkM) project takes the shape of an environmental arrangement that strives to create a clean, beautiful, and neat village by constructing physical facilities such as RT gates and signposts, as well as supplying hydroponic packages, plant pots, and garbage cans. All of the programs are well-executed and deliver the intended results. Through this Community Service, it is hoped that residents can use, maintain and care for the facilities created.

Abstract

Mulberry is a traditional Indonesian medicine that is widely used due to the antioxidants found in mulberry leaves. Alkaloids, flavonoids, polyphenols, and terpenoids, which act as antioxidants, are found in mulberry leaves. This community service project aims to raise awareness about the health and economic benefits of mulberry. The method used is counseling and mentoring in January – June 2020. As a result of this program, a mulberry garden has been established in the Griya Caraka residential park, which has numerous advantages. Starting with the mulberry fruit, which can be eaten raw or cooked, and the mulberry leaf, which can be used to make mulberry leaf chips, mulberry leaf tea, and silkworm feed. Furthermore, the public can learn about the health benefits and nutritional value of mulberry plants, as well as process mulberry leaf chips under the Morrus Berry trademark

Abstract

As a proactive response to the Presidential Instruction of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2017 regarding the Healthy Living Community Movement, this community service is being performed. People in Peta Village are active smokers (90%) and have little knowledge of stunting, the risks of smoking, or how to provide healthy and nutritious food to prevent stunting. The method of program implementation with health education, health protection, and prevention. The formation of a Health Awareness Task Force, the implementation of a program to prevent stunting in children under five, a 25 percent increase in KEK, a 5 percent decrease in the number of active smokers, and a 30 percent decrease in community cigarette consumption are all indicators that this activity was successful.

Abstract

The development of circumcision techniques in the world, including Indonesia, is very rapid. One of them is super ring modern circumcision with free needle injection anesthesia. Efforts to improve the skills of health workers such as doctors and nurses through training are carried out in collaboration with LKP Sunat Modern Indonesia. The methods used are question and answer lectures, demonstrations, FGDs, and the practice of performing circumcision on patients directly with the assistance and supervision of the instructor. The result of this activity is an increase in understanding and skills in performing super ring modern circumcision with free needle injection anesthesia, and producing entrepreneurs in this field.

Abstract

Covid-19 has changed the learning system to be online-based which makes educators experience stress and fatigue. This condition is caused by low knowledge of technology, criticism from students' parents, a learning atmosphere that is not conducive, limited access to home visits, until students are infected with Covid-19. The purpose of the training on religious coping strategies is to improve understanding of the coping strategies of educators during Covid-19. The training on religious coping strategies was carried out online assisted by zoom meeting software by involving 37 educators at the junior high, high and vocational levels consisting of 15 men and 22 women in the Surakarta Residency area. Activities carried out by pre-test, psychoeducation of religious coping, post-test, and program evaluation. The results of community service activities show an increase in the understanding and awareness of educators in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. The learning process with religious coping strategies makes mentally tougher to face the pandemic.

Abstract

Social inclusion library is a National Library program that aims to improve the quality of human resources through literacy. This community service program aims to create a social inclusion library. The method used in this community service program goes through four stages, namely: observation, socialization, training, and mentoring. This community service activity received a positive response and was able to improve the knowledge and skills of librarians in realizing social inclusion-based libraries through various literacy improvement programs for the community.

Abstract

Hydroponic technology is one way to grow crops on a small piece of land. Homes in urban areas can use this approach. The purpose of this community service is to increase the role of members of the Women Farmers Group (KWT) in the use of small urban yards using hydroponic technology, especially for KWT Agro 40 in Pilahan Village, Kotagede, Yogyakarta City. In this program, the empowerment of group members is achieved through counseling, training on demonstration plots, mentoring, oversight, and evaluation. Members of KWT Agro 40 are knowledgeable and skilled in using their yard to grow vegetables using hydroponic methods, allowing them to use their yard to improve family nutrition and income. This community service resulted in one hydroponic installation with the NFT system (Nutrient Film Technique) and 5 hydroponic installations with the wick system. Hydroponics technology made with the NFT system is placed in the group garden, while for hydroponics with the wick system it is placed in the group garden and in the homes of KWT members. The harvest from this hydroponic technology can meet the needs of healthy and nutritious vegetables and can reduce family expenses.

Abstract

The Nahdlatul Ulama Health Institute (LKNU), Puskesmas in the Jember Region and Poltekkes Kemenkes Surabaya held community service activities aimed at reducing the prevalence of stunting under five. The activity began with family assistance for pregnant women and stunting toddlers, which were attended by 112 mothers of toddlers and 40 pregnant women, and continued with nutrition education conducted by nutrition counseling with media in the form of posters, flipcharts and games. The third is the provision of nutritional intake for pregnant women and toddlers through Supplementary Food Provision (PMT), and the last is demonstration of examples of balanced nutrition for toddlers according to the principle of balanced nutrition through the use of local food ingredients. The results of the activity revealed an increase in the knowledge of pregnant women and mothers of toddlers by 47%, an increase in the attitudes of pregnant women by 4% and mothers of toddlers by 1.9%, as well as an increase in the practice behavior of pregnant women and mothers of toddlers in preparing and providing a balanced nutritional menu of local food.

Abstract

The Kediri Government encourages the Smart City concept to be applied by all its people. The smart city concept also influenced Baso Aci Tata Snack to change its marketing method which initially used traditional methods to modern ways using sophisticated technology. Baso Aci Tata Snack is one of the MSMEs in Kediri City engaged in the culinary sector. The purpose of this service activity is to encourage MSME players of Baso Aci Tata Snack to have wise and effective knowledge about the use of digital media (marketplace) in their marketing activities so that their sales turnover can increase. The method used in this activity is the survey method. The results achieved in this activity are the knowledge and understanding of employees and owners of Baso Aci Tata Snack regarding the use of technology in determining strategies to go to marketplace. This service activity is very useful for Baso Aci Tata Snack because it can increase the profit to be obtained besides that the training carried out can increase the productivity of Baso Aci Tata Snack so as to improve employee welfare.

Abstract

Adolescents frequently experience social changes that lead to issues, when they start building relationships with people of the same sex as well as those of the opposite sex in order to gain recognition, self-identity and social behavior. Lack of self-confidence, low self-esteem, shyness, anxiety, and hesitancy in expressing opinions are symptoms that appear in adolescents. They also only being silent when given the opportunity to ask questions during the learning process in class or outside of it, and difficulty saying no to things they don't like. One could say that these students have poor or negative self-concept. Through the application of Adolescent Therapeutic Group Therapy (TKT) and Assertive Training (AT), this community service seeks to enhance students' self-concept in the 7th grade at SMPN 20 Pekanbaru. This program is in the form of applying the Therapeutic Group Therapy (TKT) for adolescents and Assertive Training (AT) which is carried out through describing, modeling, role playing, feedback, and transferring. Pre-test and post-test procedures were used before and after the application of Adolescent Therapeutic Group Therapy and Assertive Training (AT). It was known that 26 students were categorized as having a high self-concept at pre-test, and that number rose to 32 at the post-test.
