Abstract

In the era of globalization and increasingly tight industrial competition, companies are required not only to achieve production and profit targets, but also to build conducive industrial relations between management and employees. Good industrial relations can create a harmonious, productive, and sustainable work climate. Two important factors that contribute to the creation of healthy industrial relations are employee competence and the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (K3).Competence has a significant effect on improving employee performance. The implementation of K3 plays an important role in creating a safe work environment and increasing work enthusiasm. The combination of competence and K3 simultaneously improves employee performance and contributes to harmonious industrial relations. Employee competence is an important factor in determining the level of individual performance. Employees who have good knowledge, skills, and work attitudes tend to be able to complete tasks more effectively and efficiently. The implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) has a positive impact on the work environment, creating a sense of security and comfort, and reducing the risk of work accidents. This has a direct impact on increasing employee morale and productivity. Simultaneously, competence and K3 contribute positively to improving employee performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership on employee performance by considering the role of emotional intelligence as a moderating variable. Transformational leadership style, which includes ideal influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individual attention, is considered capable of encouraging motivation and work productivity. Meanwhile, emotional intelligence plays a crucial role in fostering harmonious interpersonal relationships and creating a conducive work environment. This study employs a quantitative approach through a survey using a questionnaire administered to 110 respondents from the public sector in East Java, as well as additional samples from the education and Islamic finance sectors. Multiple linear regression analysis shows that transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee performance (β = 0.536; p < 0.01). The moderation test reveals that emotional intelligence strengthens this relationship (β = 0.289; p < 0.05). These findings are reinforced by results from other sectors showing similar effects. The study concludes that the combination of transformational leadership and emotional intelligence synergistically enhances employee performance, loyalty, and job satisfaction. The practical implications of this research emphasize the need for leadership training that not only focuses on managerial skills but also on developing emotional intelligence as a strategy for sustaining organizational effectiveness.

Abstract

Migrant workers play a role as foreign exchange heroes, and the government continues to strive to improve services and protections for them through supportive policies. The demand for labor abroad, especially in Japan, is increasing, creating opportunities for training institutions (LPK) such as Bahana Inspirasi Muda to prepare prospective workers. However, challenges arise regarding the trust of prospective workers in recruitment agencies, which is influenced by the quality of service and promotions conducted. This research aims to explore the impact of service quality and promotion on the trust of prospective migrant workers, as well as the role of perceived value as an intervening variable. The study was conducted at LPK Bahana Inspirasi Muda with 134 respondents who are prospective migrant workers. The method used is quantitative with a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) - Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach. The results show that service quality and promotion have a positive and significant impact on trust. Additionally, perceived value also serves as a mediator that strengthens the influence of both variables on trust. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of policies and practices in the protection of migrant workers in Indonesia.

Abstract

A good work environment is a key factor in fostering a positive work culture in the construction industry. According to a study conducted by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), approximately 45% of construction workers feel that an uncomfortable work environment contributes to their low productivity (PUPR, 2022). Unsafe work environments, such as lack of protection from extreme weather and inadequate health facilities, can lead to stress and dissatisfaction among workers. For example, a building construction project in Jakarta carried out by PT XYZ experienced delays because workers lacked adequate access to rest areas and proper sanitation. This demonstrates that investing in good facilities can improve worker comfort and productivity. Training and skills development also play a crucial role in fostering a work culture. Data from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) shows that only 30% of construction workers receive adequate training in their field (BNSP, 2023). Lack of training can lead to workers feeling insecure in carrying out their tasks, which in turn can reduce productivity. For example, a building renovation project in Surabaya experienced numerous technical errors due to workers lacking sufficient skills in using heavy equipment. Therefore, construction companies need to invest in ongoing training programs to improve workers' skills and knowledge.
