BULETIN LITERASI BUDAYA SEKOLAH, merupakan buletin daring berkategori akses terbuka yang dikelola oleh Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta dan dipublikasikan oleh Muhammadiyah University Press (MUP). Program Gerakan Literasi Nasional (GLN) merupakan salah satu program Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia yang harus didukung. Salah satu bentuk dukungan untuk menyukseskan gerakan tersebut adalah dengan mewadahi keluaran aktivitas-aktivitas pendukung GLN dalam bentuk karya ilmiah yang diterbitkan dalam buletin ini. Buletin ini menerbitkan karya ilmiah yang merupakan keluaran kegiatan gerakan literasi sekolah (GLS) yang terdiri atas enam literasi dasar, yaitu literasi baca-tulis, literasi numerasi, literasi sains, literasi finansial, literasi digital, dan literasi budaya dan kewargaan. Secara spesifik, Buletin Literasi Budaya Sekolah ini juga menerima artikel ilmiah keluaran Program Pengenalan Lapangan Persekolahan I (PLP I) dan Magang Observasi Persekolahan. Topik pembahasan artikel yang diterbitkan mencakup kultur sekolah, struktur organisasi dan tata kelola di sekolah, peraturan dan tata tertib sekolah, kegiatan-kegiatan seremonial-formal di sekolah, kegiatan-kegiatan kurikuler, kokurikuler, dan ekstrakurikuler, serta praktik pembiasaan dan kebiasaan positif di sekolah.

Abstract

One of the important and crucial human needs to be fulfilled is education. This is because in education a process will be formed so that humans have the ability and maturity in terms of academics and psychology as well as to recognize potential which is then developed as a passion. The existence Covid-19 had consequences to impact the activities involving various fields of life, one of which is the field of education where teaching and learning activities must transform from face-to-face learning to online or virtual learning. In this case teachers and students and even parents have to adapt to this online learning system. Departing from this, teachers are certainly required to take advantage of existing technology to strive for teaching and learning activities to continue even though virtually. A teacher must use media that can help carry out online learning, for example media in the form of a web based on Google Meet. The purpose of this research was to find out how to use Google Meet as an online learning media, especially in Sports Subjects at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta. This study used a qualitative descriptive method. The use of Google Meet in the Sports subject at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta has a good role in assisting the implementation of online learning.

Abstract

Climate change is one of the triggers for disasters, if it continues, it is not impossible that in the next few years there will be many disasters in our country. One of the negative impacts of climate change is the occurrence of very extreme temperature changes, one of the causes is deforestation. For that, we need to make various efforts to prevent climate change, for example by processing waste, doing reforestation, and implementing electricity-saving behavior. All levels of society must of course participate in this activity, including institutions such as offices and schools. One of the efforts that schools can do is provide education to students about deforestation and how to prevent it. This study was written to determine the role of SMA N 2 Rembang in efforts to prevent deforestation carried out by the government, the research method used was through data collection from direct observation.

Abstract

Nowadays, language learning, especially English, encounters many challenges and obstacles in its learning implementation. One example of that obstacle is the student's grades because students lack in deepening the material and vocabulary so that it affects when students work on questions and exams which ultimately has an impact on the final result or the student's own score. The challenge in learning English is how to grow students' motivation to be interested in learning English which is a foreign language for them, plus there are restrictions that exist because of the pandemic that physically and mentally affects students' understanding. These that can be in the form of implementing or providing rewards for students. Rewards can be verbal or non-verbal. Rewarding itself has many positive impacts on the progress or improvement of students' learning motivation which in turn will affect the final grades of the students themselves. Rewarding can be a motivation as well as an appreciation and also a booster for students in learning activities so that the effort given by students will increase because they feel the results of their hard work are well appreciated and in the end there is an increase in student motivation to learn.

Abstract

The purpose of this research to determine the basic social interaction skills possessed by 4th grade students of Olympiad or SME (Science Math English) MIM PK Kartasura. The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach with direct observation and interviews with sources related to their fields. This research activity was carried out using three stages. The first stage is observing the daily activities of students, the second stage is conducting interviews with people in the environment around them, such as homeroom teachers and classmates, and the third stage is combining the data that has been found and concluding the results. The results of this study indicate that the basic skills of social interaction in the SME class at MIM PK are good. This can be realized because MIM PK Kartasura has professional teachers who can make students not easily bored and happy with the learning that is going on, and is supported by various programs implemented by the school.

Abstract

Through the literacy movement, it is hoped that schools can foster student creativity, especially the ability to read and write. As in SMP Negeri 1 Simo, which implements the school literacy movement as a way to develop student creativity. The purpose of this study was to obtain data on how schools develop student creativity through reading literacy movements. This research used a qualitative case study approach, namely by collecting data from observations, interviews, document analysis, and documentation. The type of research used in this writing process is a case study that analyzes how the efforts of SMP Negeri 1 Simo to foster student creativity through reading literacy movements. The results showed: (1) the reading literacy movement at SMP Negeri 1 Simo was carried out every day before class hours began and every Friday on the 3rd week of each month, a joint literacy program was held in the schoolyard. (2) every Friday the 3rd week of each month students communicate the literacy program that has been implemented through skills, either by reading poetry, drama, then some paint together at school. (3) every 4th week students must collect the results of literacy in the form of works, then the literacy manager will carry out an assessment. If the work is good, it will be posted on the wall or on display around the school environment where a special place has been made to display / post student work. (4) with the various efforts that have been made, the school has succeeded in publishing a magazine every year. The magazine is the work of SMP Negeri 1 Simo students.

Abstract

Students as an asset for the nation, therefore it is necessary to develop properly. The PLP 1 activity itself takes place at the school premises at SMK N 6 Surakarta where there are several processes of observing and also the learning process which will later be carried out in a hybrid or online manner due to the current Covid -19 pandemic situation which has developed again.[MU1]  The application of various learning models is considered capable of increasing the enthusiasm and activeness of students in the learning process. Research will use descriptive qualitative types, observations, and interviews. The obstacle for the students was that during the pandemic students really did not have an idea of the subject matter, and when students entered school they did not have sufficient subject matter. then for the targets that have been achieved which have been generated from the vision and mission of SMK N 6 Sukoharjo, they are classified as meeting the achievement targets and we will continue to develop them in the future for alumni graduates so that they are even better and also ready to work wherever they are placed. Based on the results of the implementation and discussion it can be concluded that in each cycle there is an increase. Where in each of these cycles with different quiz paper questions. With this it can be said that the increase in student learning outcomes in each cycle at meeting I and meeting II has increased.

Abstract

This study reviews the objectives of the character development activity concept and its application as a vehicle for improving student character in the school environment and the environment where they live. The subjects of this study were students, teachers and employees of SMK Negeri 8 Surakarta. The research data was taken from the results of observations, and interviews with several parties. The method in this study uses a qualitative description. This study describes the results that character building activities are carried out once a week on Tuesdays for 30 minutes, starting from 07.00-07.30 before the activity begins. Character building activities can also produce students to have noble character, be honest, moral, tolerant, care for others, work together, have faith, not only that, with character building activities once a week, it will provide anticorruption values since early to every student that is rife at this time. So that this activity is currently good and it is recommended for educations to continue to develop and carry out character building activities so that they become activities that have an impact on improving the quality of student learning and making students have good character.

Abstract

The low character of the younger generation is one of the problems faced by education in Indonesia. This study aims to explain the concept of Friday school culture and the characters that can be formed through Friday school culture. Friday school culture contains values that can be used as a means to shape the character of students. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. Data were obtained through interviews with the vice principal of student affairs II, teachers, and students at SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta. The results of this study indicate that the culture of the Blessed Friday school contains religious values, nationalism, creativity and mutual cooperation which can be internalized to students as an effort to shape and improve character. The characters that can be formed through the Friday Blessings school culture are tough, clean and healthy characters, disciplined, caring for the environment, teamwork, responsibility, creative and innovative.

Abstract

Nowadays human needs are getting higher making companies compete with each other to meet human needs and get profits. Entrepreneurship is a career that is increasingly in demand because of the greater opportunities. Because high trade competition at this time, vocational schools need to give encouragement to students' entrepreneurial abilities by forming mini mart business unit. Entrepreneurial practice is made to produce graduates with good knowledge and can compete in the business world. The mini market business unit is expected to hone students' trading skills with economic activities related to daily, buying and selling merchandise. SMK Batik 1 Surakarta believe these economic activities can foster an entrepreneurial spirit and students' interest in commerce. This study uses qualitative methods to find out the meaning of mini mart, management, and benefits for all school members. This research was conducted to find out more in-depth methods of developing trade skills of Batik students at SMK 1 Surakarta and expectations for school graduates.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has made the already massive learning difficulties in developing countries more severe than ever. The percentage of children who cannot read simple texts with comprehension by the time they are 10 years old is one of the clearest indications of learning problems. For this reason, the Ministry of Education and Culture created an application that can support the improvement of student literacy called AKSI. This study aims to determine the application of AKSI application to improve the reading literacy of 4th grade students of SD N 1 Muruh. The method used is qualitative. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis process includes data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. AKSI application with all its features can be an alternative learning resource that can increase elementary students' reading literacy interest and in accordance with technological developments and can support students' reading habits at school and at home.
