Abstract

WHO data (2019) states that the incidence of pereneal rupture in Indonesia is 67.2%, an increase from the previous year, namely 60% in 2019 with an incidence of puerpurium infection of 7%. Factors causing maternal death include postpartum infections. One non-pharmacological technique for treating perineal wound pain is to apply a cold compress. The aim of the research was to determine the effect of cold compresses on reducing perineal wound pain in postpartum mothers. The research method uses a quasi-experimental design, one group pretest and posttest. The population in this study were all postpartum mothers who experienced perineal wounds at BPM Soraya Palembang with a sample size of 30 respondents. The research results showed that the average perineal wound pain in postpartum mothers before being given cold compress therapy was 7.30 and the average perineal wound pain in postpartum mothers after being given cold compresses was 4.63. The statistical test results showed that there was an effect of cold compresses in reducing the pain scale of perineal wounds in postpartum mothers at BPM Soraya Palembang in 2022 with a significant value of 0.000. It is hoped that suggestions from health workers at BPM Soraya Palembang will improve services for postpartum mothers, especially mothers who experience perineal wound pain. Apart from using the pharmacological treatment that has been applied so far, it is hoped that officers can use alternative non-pharmacological treatment such as giving cold compresses.

Abstract

Breast milk dams occur on the 2nd – 10th day after giving birth, which is characterized by redness, heat, pain, swelling and increased body temperature, which is a sign of inflammation. Leukocytes are white blood cells produced by hemopoietic tissue in the body’s defense system against infection. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of administering jasmine leaf compresses on the number of leukocytes in breastfeeding mothers with breast milk. This type of research uses Quasy Experimental with pretest and posttest design with control group. This research was divided into two groups, namely the group that was given jasmine leaf compress treatment with 15 respondents and the breast milk control group with 15 respondents. The instrument used for blood leukocyte counts uses the Hematology Analyzer Method using the BC-3000 Plus (Automatic Analyzer) and Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and SPES (Six Point Engorgement Scale). The results of the study showed that there was a significant effect between the pain intervention group given jasmine leaf compresses on the number of blood leukocytes in breast milk dams with a p value = 0.001. Mothers who experience breast milk dams are given a jasmine leaf compress by placing jasmine leaves on the swollen breasts for 1-2 hours or until the leaves wilt. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of jasmine leaf compresses on reducing the number of blood leukocytes in the group of breast pain and swelling with breast milk dams. Keywords: Jasmine leaf compress, breast milk dam, leukocyte count

Abstract

According to WHO (World Health Organization) there are around one billion people in the world who suffer from hypertension. Hypertension is someone who experiences an increase in blood pressure above normal as indicated by the systolic and distolic numbers on a blood pressure examination. The aim of this research is to determine changes in blood pressure through handgrip workout s at the Harapan Kita Palembang elderly social institution in 2023. This research method is quantitative using a pre-experimental approach (One Group Pre-Post Test Design). The sample used in this research was purposive sampling. With a total of 12 elderly respondents. Based on the non-parametric statistical test (Wilcoxon) it is 0.000 p value 0.000 < 0.05) which means that it shows the influence of hand grip training on blood pressure values in elderly people with hypertension. There was a change in blood pressure after handgrip training, the subject was able to control blood pressure well. There is an influence of providing handgrip training. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon test, a p value of 0.000 <A 0.05 was obtained. It is hoped that we can examine other, more varied variables such as knowledge, behavior and cover a wide range of research using qualitative methods with in-depth interviews related to hypertension so that research on hypertension can continue to develop

Abstract

Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2014 there were around 600 million hypertension sufferers throughout the world. For elderly people who suffer from hypertension, the higher the grade of hypertension, the higher the level of dependence of the elderly on their care giver, which in this case is the family in a community setting. The aim of the research was to determine the relationship between the grade of hypertension and the level of independence of the elderly in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) at the Harapan Kita Palembang Elderly Social Home in 2023. The research method used was quantitative analysis with a cross section approach. The population in this study were all elderly people who experienced hypertension at the Harapan Kita Social Home in Palembang with a total sample of 35 respondents taken using the purposive sampling method. The frequency distribution of the elderly's independence in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) is mostly independent, with 15 respondents (42.9%), the frequency distribution of the majority of the elderly experiencing stage 1 hypertension, 16 respondents (45.7%). The statistical test results showed that there was a relationship between the grade of hypertension and the independence of the elderly in activities of daily living /ADL at the Harapan Kita Palembang Elderly Social Home in 2023 with p.value = 0.025. The suggestion is that health workers can carry out routine blood tests on all elderly people so that their blood pressure can always be monitored, apart from that, officers can also get older people used to carrying out their daily activities without having to be helped so that they can increase the level of independence of elderly people, especially elderly people who suffer from hypertension.

Abstract

Menopause is a permanent cessation of menstruation caused by ovarian failure. It can be diagnosed within the year of the last menstrual period and is retrospective. The period leading to these changes is also called perimenopause. This is characterized by biological and endocrine changes that cause symptoms and irregular bleeding. Progressive muscle relaxation is the use of techniques to encourage and obtain relaxation for the purpose of reducing signs and symptoms such as pain, muscle stiffness and anxiety. Physiologically progressive muscle relaxation reduces oxygen consumption, respiratory metabolic rate, muscle tension, premature ventricular contractions, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, increases brain alpha waves. The method of this research is Using a quantitative design in this research used a pre-experimental design with a one group pre-post test approach. Where in this study the sample was given a pre-test (initial observation) before being given the intervention, after that the intervention was given, then a post-test (final observation) was carried out. The results of the t-test in the study were 14,038 with a significance of 0.000 (p value 0.05). This means that progressive muscle relaxation therapy has a significant effect on the sleep quality of menopausal women. The results of this research can be used as reference material and add to the literature at STIKES Mitra Adiguna Palembang, especially journals and materials that support the writing of scientific papers related to the sleep quality of menopausal women.
