El-Maqalah: Journal of Arabic Language Teaching and Linguistics is open access, peer-reviewed journals that will consider every original scientific article that expands the field of study in Teaching Arabic and Linguistics as well as various other educational related issues. The journal publishes research articles of interest to education practitioners, teachers, education policymakers, and researchers. The article submitted must be based on research, original, and educationally interesting to the audience in the field. The goal is to disseminate new concepts and research findings developed in this area of study by publishing relevant peer-reviewed scientific information and discussions. The aim and scope of this journal focus on the results of research related to the current issues faced by Arabic language learners and instructors, both from the linguistic and pedagogical realms. This journal is free of charge, and all manuscripts will be gone through double-blind review before being published.

Abstract

Overall, the goal of teaching Arabic at an intermediate level about religious ministry is to strengthen reading skills and increase religious knowledge. This is reflected in the planning of the Arabic subject at the intermediate level, so the reading texts must contain the two things mentioned, whether the application of the linguistic rules that have been studied or include religious knowledge in order to achieve the goal of teaching the Arabic language. The teaching and learning process needs the appropriate educational resources for the current curriculum. One of the educational resources is the textbook. The researcher found a book for teaching Arabic for the third intermediate grade, and this book is a model and was not printed for sale, so it can be fixed with suggestions and better analysis. According to this, the researcher analyzed the content of the book. This thesis aims to identify the compatibility of book-reading texts with the rules of arrangement and composing good study materials in terms of language and to identify the compatibility of book-reading texts with Islamic culture. The research tools used to obtain the desired data are observation and files. As for the results of this message, they are: 1). The reading texts found in the aforementioned book did not include the linguistic structure and this was not taken into account in every topic, 2). Of the five existing texts, four are texts that correspond to the Islamic culture or the teachings and creed of Islam, but one text needs to reform the content and the subject to conform to the established planning.

Abstract

MAN 4 Aceh Utara students learn a variety of subjects, including lessons to speak Arabic (Kalam). This lesson aims to make students able to speak Arabic properly and correctly. However, in practice, students face many problems and difficulties in Arabic resulting in the learning outcomes that have not reached the cut score (KKM). One of the reasons is that the teacher has not applied a good method and is in accordance with the student's condition, nor is there suitable learning media in learning. Researchers assume that the direct method and Arabiyah Baina Yadai Auladina textbooks can improve the skills of students in speaking. Therefore, Researchers examine the use of Arabiyah Baina Yadai Auladina textbooks with a direct method to increase skills in Arabic speaking (Classroom Action Research in MAN 4 Aceh Utara). The purpose of the research is to determine the implementation of Arabiyah Baina Yadai Auladina textbooks and direct methods to improve the skills of students in Arabic speaking and its effect on students and student responses to this learning. Classroom action research methods are used in this study. Researchers collected data using observations, questionnaires, and tests. Student of first grade who became the subject of research with the 20 students. The results show indicate that the implementation of learning is in accordance with the plan with a percentage of 57.69% (enough) in the first cycle and increased in the second cycle to 92.3% (very good). The ability of students in Arabic speaking increases after the application of this book and method. This is evident from the average score in the first cycle is 57.75 (enough) and in the second cycle increased is 79.25 (very good). The level of improvement in students' abilities or N-GAIN 1.03 is in the high interpretation. And finally, student's responses to this application were positive.

Abstract

The development of a method is research conducted to produce a specific product. Textbooks the prominent sources to attract student’s attention. The content of the grammar in the textbook makes students bored and lack enthusiasm for Arabic lessons. Therefore then the researcher developed the textbook in the composition of the PowerPoint, to support the bold reform steps in the installation. For this purpose, this research aims to learn how to develop a textbook “Ayo Belajar Bahasa Arab untuk MI Kelas IV” as well as to find out the effectiveness of the product from the development of this book. The approach adopted by the researcher in this research thesis is the methodology of scientific research and development (Research & Development R & D). The data collection consisted of direct observation, test, and questionnaire on the fourth-grade students. The Arabic book has been developed with the following steps: potential and issues, data collection, production design, certification production with the expert in teaching and learning, improvement of production, sampling of production in the sales group, and improvement of production. The use of books that have been developed with PowerPoint is effective in improving students understanding in learning Arabic.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum is the current curriculum, the 2013 curriculum is the foundation for schools and staff in carrying out school activities from school equipment to teaching activities. Learning based on the 2013 curriculum must reflect scientific learning activities with an authentic evaluation model to produce a perfect level of learning. The author refers to the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) to see an overview of scientific learning and authentic evaluation models, because there are indications that the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) does not provide an overview of scientific learning and authentic evaluation models. This study aims to determine teacher implementation of scientific learning and authentic evaluation models in the teaching and learning process and teacher problems in implementing scientific learning and authentic evaluation models. The method in compiling this scientific essay is a descriptive method, where the author describes the problem and makes a draft to provide an interpretation of the teacher's application of scientific learning and authentic evaluation models in Arabic learning. To collect data, the writer uses data observation and interviews, both of which function to collect data and analyze it so that conclusions can be drawn. The results of the research are the application of scientific learning and the authentic evaluation model carried out by the teacher is almost perfect with several shortcomings such as lack of innovation, information, generality, and the elimination of important points. The implementation rate reaches 85% for scientific learning while the authentic evaluation model is only 50% due to the elimination of points that occur in the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), Meanwhile, the problem with teachers in applying the scientific approach and authentic assessment is the teacher's lack of attention to the scientific approach and authentic assessment, writing lesson plans that are assisted by others without being accompanied by the teacher's response to study the lesson plans that have been written, so that the teacher's knowledge of scientific and authentic assessments is lacking and it can be seen in the less than perfect RPP writing.

Abstract

Textbooks are the main media used by teachers and students in the instructional process. Therefore, the Qawa'id Nahwiyah learning book which is unstructured, general, and not equipped with various examples, will make students feel bored and do not understand about the qawaid nahwu. In this study, the researcher was developing an Arabic learning book for grade five in the 2013 curriculum by using audio-visual media. This research was designed to find out how to develop Arabic learning books for grade five in the 2013 curriculum using audio-visual media and how to determine the effectiveness of Arabic learning books for grade five in the 2013 curriculum by using audio-visual media. Furthermore, the Research and Development model by Borg and Gall was used in this study as a research method. Data collection consisted of interviews, questionnaires, and tests. In addition, the participants in this study were 280 students as population, and the students in all grades five consisting of 25 students were taken as samples. according to the results, the researcher found that book development has been carried out through 10 stages: Potential and problems, gathering information, product design, and design validation in this the value of the first expert was 78 % and the second expert was 77 % it showed that this bool agrees to be used learning Qawa'id Nahwiyah, design improvement, product testing, product revision, usage testing, product revision, and mass product manufacturing. meanwhile, the results of the effectiveness test using the t-test showed that the t count was greater than the t table, namely 4.1 based on a significance level of 5% 2.06 and 1% 2.80.

Abstract

Ma’had Al-Jami’ah Ar-Raniry Darussalam has many students from different departments, including the Department of Biology, Department of Physics, and some others, the researcher noticed that most of them are able to answer questions correctly in the exercises. In fact, that book shows the short material and many tests, and each test has a variety of items. Therefore, the researcher wanted to analyze the form of the test items. In this paper, the researcher determines whether the test items in the Conversation Subject at the Ma’had Al-Jami’ah Ar-Raniry Darussalam are appropriate in terms of the level of validity, reliability, difficulty, and in terms of the level of discrimination. The purpose of scientific writing is to find out the suitability of the test items in the Conversation Subject At The Ma’had Al-Jami’ah Ar-Raniry Darussalam in terms of the level of validity, reliability, difficulty, and in terms of the level of discrimination. As for the research method that the researcher used, it is the content analysis method. The population in this research is all students in SCTV’s dormitory which is 183 students and the research took 22 students for sampling. In data collection researcher used documentation, that is, the test items in the Arabic Language Lessons Book for Non-Native Speakers Part One and the author is Dr. F. Abdurrahim in the Conversation Subject At The Ma’had Al-Jami’ah Ar-Raniry Darussalam. Based on the research can be obtained that the questions test which presented by the teacher are not in accordance with the standard item test in terms of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and discrimination.

Abstract

Based on the observation at MTsN 4 Banda Aceh, the researcher found a problem in that students were unable to find important points in the Qira'ah text, so it was difficult to understand the text regularly according to the storyline in the text. This is due to the denseness of the text presented in the book and also the writing that is less interesting to read so it makes students bored to study the contents of the text. Therefore, the researcher wants to develop this book with an illustrated companion book to help students learn Arabic with an attractive appearance. The purpose of this study was to find out the level of validation and effectiveness of the use of the Illustrated Companion Book that had been developed. This study used the R&D (Research and Development) method, and the research instruments used were direct observation, a questionnaire, and a test. The researcher took 31 students from class VII 1 as a sample. As for the data analysis technique, the researcher used the T-Test formula from the SPSS application. The result obtained from this research is the Arabic textbook development process consists of ten steps: “research and information, collecting, planning, develop a preliminary form of Illustrated Companion Book, preliminary field testing, main Illustrated Companion Book revision, main field testing, operational Illustrated Companion Book revision, operational field testing, final Illustrated Companion Book revision and dissemination and implementation. And the development of an Illustrated Companion Book based on expert judgment, which is valid with a value of 93.5%. The test result showed that the use of an illustrated companion book is effective in improving students' ability to translate and understand the contents of the text on a regular basis. In a way that is based on the results of the value of Sig. 0.000 < 0.05 which indicates that (Ha) was accepted.

Abstract

The title of this research is the Development of Material Structure in Arabic Textbook 2013 Curriculum year, with Microsoft PowerPoint. The researcher chose this title because she saw as the students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Banda Aceh, in practicing Arabic they did not pay attention to the correct language principles. Especially when they practiced Arabic sentences that do not match verbs and personal pronouns be right. In this school the students really like learning by using media, this phenomenon can be seen from the student questionnaire that they were very enthusiastic about learning by using PowerPoint. Therefore, the researcher wants to develop structural material using PowerPoint. The purpose of this research is to develop a product for the development of the material structure to determine the effectiveness of the material by using PowerPoint, and to find out what the experts think about the development of material structure using PowerPoint media. For data collection, the researcher used a pretest and post-test question questionnaire and an expert observation sheet. The results of the research show that the use of Microsoft PowerPoint media in developing the material structure increases student ability in learning structure so the media is effective for teachers in increasing their ability to learn it. Based on the results of the post-test average score (T-test 2,09 <7,1> 2,86.) this value shows that the development of material structure by using PowerPoint media at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Banda Aceh is effective and useful. As for the expert assessment, it shows that the product is accepted based on the expert observation value, namely 80% from Expert I, and 75% from Expert II

Abstract

In the teaching-learning process, there are several components interrelated with each other. These components include students, teachers, objectives, materials, methods, media, and evaluation. The criteria for the content of textbooks that are suitable for use by education units have been determined by the BNSP as stated in the Regulation of the Education Minister and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 8 of 2016 concerning books used in educational units article 3 paragraph 5 that the content of the textbook of lesson must cover aspects of material, linguistic, material presentation, and graphic. Besides these four aspects, teaching materials also need to be considered in a textbook. Teaching materials in textbooks are not only in accordance with the curriculum, but also they must be of high quality. William Francis Mackey explained the aspects of seeing the quality of language teaching materials in a textbook, namely the aspects of selecting, gradation, presentation, and repetition. The researcher found that the subject matter for the fourth grade of the elementary school was not in the order and the grammar presented in the fourth grade of the elementary school was more than the grammar presented in the fifth Arabic for the elementary school. Therefore, the researcher analyzed the "fourth-grade Arabic textbook at the Elementary School" to find out the contents of the book, according to the level of material gradation, and also to determine the suitability of the book content with the principles of good book presentation. In this study, the researcher used a descriptive method with the type of Content Analysis. The data collection techniques were documentation and literature review. In short, the results showed that the textbook has fulfilled the criteria for a good presentation of a textbook in terms of psychological, cultural, educational, and language principles. However, when viewed in terms of material quality, this book is not in accordance with the level of material gradation.

Abstract

As stated by students through the interview they acknowledged the difficulties in learning Arabic such as Qawa'id. Students found difficulty with the use of Isim Dhomir and the difference of Fi'il (verb) as well as the use of Jar and Mubtada Khabar letters while learning Qawa'id. Besides, they also found difficulty in formulating the correct sentences according to Qawaid rules. Based on the experience of the teacher, students’ ability is very lack in mastering the Qawa'id materials. It is shown by the result of the Qawa'id assignments given. Furthermore, the students did not remember what the teacher explained when they were asked back by the teacher. The teacher points out that the students lack the motivation to learn Arabic. This problem will affect students' ability to accept the material. The purpose of this study was to (1) determine the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament model with Kahoot to improve students' ability to Qawa'id Nahwiyyah. (2) to determine the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament model with Kahoot to improve students' ability to Qawa'id Nahwiyyah. (3) Determine the effectiveness of the Qiyasiyyah method with cards to improve students' ability to Qawa'id Nahwiyyah. (4) Knowing the effectiveness of the Qiyasiyyah method with cards to improve students' ability to Qawa'id Nahwiyyah. The research methodology in this thesis is an experimental method with a factorial design (The 2 x 2 Factorial Design). Based on the explanation, the researcher concluded that (1) The application of the team's games tournament model with Kahoot was effective in improving the ability of students (lk) in Qawaid Nahwiyyah. With evidence that the distribution of data is at the signification level of 0.000 ≤ 0.05. (3) Application of the Qiyasiyyah method with cards effectively to improve the ability of students (lk) to Qawaid Nahwiyyah. With evidence that the distribution of data is at the signification level of 0.015 ≤ 0.05. (4) Application of the Qiyasiyyah method with cards effective to improve the ability of students (pr) in Qawaid Nahwiyyah. With evidence that the distribution of data is at the signification level of 0.004 ≤ 0.05.
