Abstract

The UPTD South Denpasar I Primary Health Center is facing a high incidence of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) among toddlers, accompanied by a low level of adherence to the six-step handwashing with soap (CTPS). Limited knowledge regarding HFMD transmission and insufficient skills in performing proper handwashing increase the risk of disease spread. Maintaining hand hygiene is one of the most effective measures to prevent contact-based infectious diseases; however, its implementation in the community remains suboptimal. This community service program (PKM) proposes a solution through integrated education and training for 17 parents of toddlers, implemented through two main activities: educational sessions on HFMD and hands-on training in the six-step WHO handwashing technique. Program evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test assessments. The activities were carried out collaboratively with health workers from the primary health center to ensure program sustainability. The results of the community service showed an average increase in participant`s knowledge of 78.75%. This program is expected to reduce the transmission of HFMD among toddlers and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the digital marketing of local products through the implementation of the LESTARI System as a community-based digital marketing platform. The program was conducted during the odd semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year through a collaborative initiative involving lecturers and students from Universitas Negeri Makassar and Universitas Hasanuddin. The program was implemented in Ajakkang Village, Soppeng Riaja District, Barru Regency, involving the Fish Processing Group (POKLAHSAR) Berkah, local MSME actors, and the village government. The implementation method employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach through stages of problem identification, needs analysis, system development, community training and mentoring, system implementation, and program evaluation. The results demonstrated an improvement in community capacity in digital marketing, business management, product branding, and the utilization of social media and marketplaces as promotional media. The implementation of the LESTARI System also encouraged increased community participation, the emergence of local leaders, and greater public awareness regarding the importance of digital transformation and mangrove environmental conservation as part of sustainable economic development. Therefore, the LESTARI System has proven effective as a medium for strengthening the digital marketing of local products while supporting technology-based empowerment of coastal communities.

Abstract

Plastic waste is one of the environmental problems that has not been optimally addressed in Bulakan Village. Training in the manufacture of paving blocks from plastic waste through the Community Empowerment Program by Students (PMM) of Muhammadiyah University Purwokerto was carried out as an effort to improve skills and manage waste based on a circular economy. This activity was carried out through several stages, including planning, socialization, the handover of hot mixer equipment, the provision of materials, and the practical production of paving blocks. The results of the activity showed an increase in the knowledge and skills of the participants based on a comparison of pre-test and post-test results, as well as the participants' success in independently practicing the production process. Additionally, this program has a positive impact on partners and the community by transforming plastic waste into useful products and creating new business opportunities for the community. This training demonstrates that plastic waste can serve as an alternative building material while supporting waste reduction at the village level.

Abstract

The introduction of catfish as a source of animal protein is important for students, as catfish can contribute to fulfilling nutritional needs within the community. Early exposure to catfish aquaculture provides students with initial knowledge and understanding of fish farming, which can foster their interest in engaging in aquaculture activities. This community service activity was carried out in the hall of SMP Negeri 3 Manganitu and was attended by students and teachers of the school. The program implemented a participatory learning and action approach. This activity is essential for junior high school students because they are the next generation who need to be equipped with knowledge and skills that may support them in becoming future fish farmers or individuals who can promote catfish as an accessible source of animal protein, thereby reducing dependence on capture fisheries. The results of the activity show that all participating students have become familiar with catfish and tarpaulin ponds as freshwater fish and freshwater culture systems, which they had not previously encountered.
