Abstract

The massive spread of hoax news in the digital era has caused various negative impacts, ranging from public misinformation to social unrest. This condition highlights the need for a technological solution capable of automatically and accurately detecting the truthfulness of information. This study aims to develop a web-based application for hoax news detection using the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm. The method involves text preprocessing, feature extraction using Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF), and classification with SVM. The system is designed with a simple and responsive web interface, allowing users to input news content and receive prediction results easily. Testing was conducted using both white-box and black-box methods to ensure that the system's logic functioned as expected. The results show that the system successfully classifies news into two categories—valid and hoax—with good accuracy. This application is expected to serve as a useful tool for the public in identifying the authenticity of news and preventing the spread of false information across digital platforms.

Abstract

The agricultural sector remains a cornerstone of Indonesia’s economy, yet it faces persistent challenges such as climate change, land degradation, and limited adoption of digital technology among smallholder farmers. One critical issue is the lack of real-time monitoring systems accessible to farmers for tracking essential environmental parameters such as soil moisture and temperature. Traditional manual methods are still widely used, leading to inefficiencies and suboptimal decision-making. This study proposes the development of DigiField, a smart farming monitoring system designed to bridge the technological gap in rural agriculture by leveraging modern web technologies. The system is developed using the React.js framework for the frontend, enabling a dynamic, responsive, and mobile-friendly user interface, and Express.js for the backend to facilitate real-time data processing from sensor devices. The research adopts a technology-based development approach, involving needs analysis from field observations and interviews with local farmers. The DigiField prototype is designed to monitor soil moisture and temperature using sensor data that is transmitted and visualized in real-time through a web interface. The system aims to support data-driven agricultural decision-making and enhance productivity through accessible, low-cost technology. Preliminary testing and user feedback indicate that DigiField is effective in addressing local agricultural monitoring needs, with a user interface that is intuitive for farmers and a backend infrastructure that supports real-time updates. This study contributes to both academic discourse in the field of agricultural informatics and practical efforts to promote digital transformation in Indonesia’s agricultural sector.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information and communication technology (ICT) has brought significant changes to various business sectors, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). However, many MSMEs still rely on manual systems that are prone to errors, inefficiencies, and difficulties in recording and analyzing transactions. This research aims to develop a digital sales information system for Kios Mie Ayam Kangkung Subur in Cilegon City using the Laravel framework. The system was designed using a Research and Development (R&D) approach and developed with the Laravel PHP framework and MySQL database, following the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and documentation study. The development process involved system requirement analysis, interface and database design, implementation, testing, and documentation. The final product is a web-based application that supports key functions such as login and authentication, menu management, transaction processing, receipt printing, and sales reporting. Black-box testing was conducted to evaluate the system’s functionality, and results showed that all modules performed according to expectations. The system proved to be user-friendly, efficient, and capable of improving transaction accuracy and operational speed. In conclusion, the developed digital sales system successfully meets the needs of Kios Mie Ayam Kangkung Subur and contributes to enhancing the kiosk’s business processes through automation. The system also lays the groundwork for future technology adoption, such as online ordering or mobile access. This study demonstrates that Laravel is an effective solution for MSMEs looking to transition into the digital era and streamline their business operations.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the governance and performance of the FIF Mobile Collection information system implemented at PT Federal International Finance POS Baros using the COBIT 5 framework. As mobile-based applications become critical tools in financial operations—particularly in billing and collection activities—ensuring their security, efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals is imperative. The COBIT 5 framework was adopted to assess the maturity and capability of IT processes, with a specific focus on the DSS05 process: Manage Security Services. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation analysis, and evaluated using the COBIT 5 Process Assessment Model (PAM). The results of the audit show that the DSS05 process achieved Capability Level 3, meaning the process is well-defined and implemented but not yet fully measurable or optimized. The assessment revealed that Levels 1 and 2 were fully achieved, while Level 3 was largely achieved (60–66.66%), indicating the need for performance monitoring and continual improvement mechanisms. Several gaps were identified in the areas of risk management, incident response, and user training, which present potential threats to data security and system reliability. The findings also indicate partial alignment of the system with key enterprise goals such as customer service excellence, operational agility, and information-based decision-making. However, the lack of real-time monitoring, formalized response procedures, and predictive controls hinders the organization from achieving higher governance maturity. Recommendations include implementing automated security tools, conducting regular IT risk assessments, and enhancing user awareness programs. This study concludes that while the FIF Mobile Collection system delivers operational benefits, improvements in governance maturity—guided by COBIT 5—are essential to ensuring secure, efficient, and strategically aligned system performance in the long term.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has significantly influenced the culinary business sector, particularly in enhancing service efficiency and customer experience. Esthetic Cafe, as a small-to-medium-sized enterprise, faces challenges in streamlining its food ordering process, which has traditionally been conducted manually. This research aims to design and develop a web-based food ordering application system using the Laravel framework to improve operational workflow, minimize order errors, and enhance customer satisfaction. The study adopts the Research and Development (R&D) methodology and implements the Waterfall model to guide the software development life cycle. The stages include requirements analysis, system design, implementation using Laravel, system testing with black box methods, and real-world deployment. The Laravel framework was chosen due to its MVC architecture, scalability, security features, and strong community support. The system provides core functionalities such as user registration and login, menu browsing, cart management, order placement, table selection, simulated payment processing, and transaction history tracking. For administrators, the system includes modules for product and category management, order confirmation, and transaction monitoring. The user interface was designed to be intuitive and responsive, focusing on user convenience and accessibility. Testing results from twelve black box scenarios demonstrated that all system features operated as expected, with successful interactions and accurate system responses. No major errors were identified, confirming the reliability and functionality of the application. In conclusion, the implementation of this food ordering system significantly improves service quality and operational efficiency at Esthetic Cafe. The system also provides a digital solution that supports the business's transition into the digital era. This study shows that web-based applications developed with Laravel can effectively meet the technological needs of small culinary businesses and support sustainable digital transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive educational game titled Flag Letter Puzzle using Construct 2, intended to enhance the learning experience of third-grade students at SDN Patra Manggala 2, Tangerang Regency. The game introduces students to country flags through an engaging word puzzle format that supports both cognitive development and national awareness. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. During the analysis stage, observations and interviews were conducted to identify student needs and the relevance of educational media in the classroom. The design phase involved creating the storyboard, interface, and gameplay structure tailored for young learners. The game was developed using Construct 2, enabling integration of visuals, sound, and interactivity. Implementation involved a trial run with 20 students, and the final evaluation was conducted using Black Box Testing and user feedback. The results showed that all game features functioned properly according to expectations. Students responded positively, displaying high levels of engagement and enjoyment during the learning activities. The intuitive interface and interactive gameplay facilitated independent learning, improved memory retention, and promoted curiosity. The game also aligns well with the 2013 Indonesian curriculum (Kurikulum 2013), particularly in Social Studies and Civics, which emphasize knowledge of national symbols and neighboring countries. This research concludes that the Flag Letter Puzzle game is both technically feasible and pedagogically effective. It provides a valuable alternative to conventional learning methods by integrating game-based learning into the classroom. The application not only serves as a tool for reinforcing knowledge of country flags but also fosters active learning and digital literacy among elementary school students. The game is recommended for use in similar educational settings to support curriculum delivery and improve learning outcomes through interactive media.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information and communication technology has significantly transformed business practices, particularly through the emergence of Electronic Commerce (E-Commerce). This study aims to design and develop a web-based sales application for Toko Andesta Indah, a micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) located in Serang Regency, to address inefficiencies in manual sales processes and expand digital market reach. The system was developed using the Waterfall model and implemented with the CodeIgniter framework due to its lightweight structure and support for MVC architecture. The application features include user registration and login, product catalog display, order processing, payment proof upload, and administrative control of product and transaction management. Functional testing using Black Box methods confirmed that the system operates according to user requirements and supports secure, accurate, and efficient transactions. The results demonstrate that the developed system effectively simplifies transaction processes, enhances customer access to products, and provides administrative efficiency in managing sales data. This web-based application serves as a strategic step toward digital transformation for MSMEs and contributes to improving competitiveness in the e-commerce landscape.

Abstract

Web-based information systems have become an effective solution to enhance efficiency and accuracy in online sales transactions, including in the beverage business such as Es Teh Indonesia. This study aims to design and develop a web-based ordering information system using the CodeIgniter 3 framework to simplify the ordering process and manage data related to products, brands, categories, and transaction reports. The methodology used in this study is the waterfall method, consisting of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance stages. The system design includes user interfaces (UI) for both customers and administrators, as well as UML diagrams such as use case, activity, and sequence diagrams. The developed system is capable of handling login, user registration, product selection, order form submission, checkout, and order confirmation processes. On the admin side, the system provides features to manage brand, category, and product data, as well as generate transaction reports based on a specific date range. The results of testing using the black box method indicate that all functions perform as expected. In conclusion, this web-based information system successfully improves the convenience and efficiency of the ordering process and business data management at Es Teh Indonesia, while also enhancing service speed and accuracy for customers.

Abstract

Abstract This study investigates the extent to which IoT devices are being adopted in Nigerian tertiary institutions, with specific attention to their potential, constraints, and future implications. The study was guided by four objectives: to explore the opportunities IoT offers for enhancing teaching, learning, and research; to identify major challenges associated with its implementation in the Nigerian context; to evaluate the impact of IoT on the efficiency and outcomes of academic activities; and to highlight the future prospects and trends in IoT for transforming education and research in Nigeria. A mixed-methods approach was adopted, involving quantitative data from 360 respondents and qualitative insights from 12 key stakeholders interviewed across selected institutions nationwide. The findings reveal that IoT devices are increasingly being used to improve instructional delivery, personalize student learning, and enhance data collection for research. However, the study also identifies critical challenges including inadequate digital infrastructure, high cost of IoT systems, limited technical expertise, and the absence of clear national or institutional policies. Despite these challenges, respondents expressed strong optimism about the future role of IoT in enabling smart campuses, AI-driven learning environments, and innovative research collaboration. The study concluded that while the integration of IoT into Nigerian education and research is still in its formative stage, its transformative potential is evident. To fully realize this potential, there should be strategic investments in infrastructure, comprehensive training programmes, policy formulation, and inclusive implementation strategies are required. The study recommended a collaborative, future-oriented approach involving government, institutions, and industry stakeholders to ensure that IoT becomes a sustainable driver of academic excellence and national development.
