Abstract

This research aims to investigate the directive speech acts in students’ communication of elementary schools as a form of local wisdom in the educational setting of Kolaka Regency. The interractive model proposed by Miles and Huberman was employed to analyse the data which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and a conclusion. The findings show that there are two types of directive speech atc performed by elementary school students which are 1) the speech act of commanding, and 2) the speech act of begging.  Both forms of directive speech acts are affected by the cultural context which can be found in the form of clitics. The clitics are related to the local wisdom of the elementary students’ communication in Kolaka Regency in the forms, such as -ko, –mi  and -na,  as uttered in the form of lihatko, ayomi, pindahko, biarmi, siniko, jemputna

Abstract

The study has been done to know the meaning, background, and self-concept of millennials women's who not married. This kind of study is qualitative by interview, observation, and be completed by references. The theory which the study used is symbolic interaksionism by Herbert Blume who delevop from George Herbert Mead's. Symbolic interactionism focuses on the relationships among individuals within a society which create a meaning become a symbol, s the symbols will have a meaning. The Kinsip of Mandaresee and Javanese in Wonomulyo District (Study Linguistic Historical Comparative)

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to find out the language kinship between Mandarese and Javanese and also to calculate the length of time of separation between the two languages. This article uses a quantitative descriptive research procedure. The instrument used is a gloss list of 200 vocabularies developed by Morrish Swadesh. The data collection techniques used were interviews with informants, recording, and recording. The data collected from both languages were analyzed using Comparative Historical Linguistics with lexicostatistic and glotochronology analysis techniques. The research results were divided into two, namely: (1) The results of the lexicostatistic analysis showed that the level of kinship between Mandarese and Javanese was 21%, which means that Mandar and Javanese are descended from the Malayo-West Polynesian language family. (2) The results of the glotochronology analysis show that the separation between Mandarese and Javanese occurred for 1,082 years which occurred approximately between 4,240 and 3,158, which means that they are classified as descendants of a language family.

Abstract

This research aims to esxplanation about women representation in Youtube channel. This research is a qualitative research, using qualitative analysis methods. Data collection techniques in this study using observations in the form of observations made at every place contained in advertisements, documentation, and literature studies, where the results of data collection will then be processed by researchers to obtain accurate and appropriate results. Abstract

Strategic planning is a concept for building a specific and comprehensive work plan. The concept importance  of the strategic planning in public relations activities is to facilitate the preparation and analysis of a series of work plans to be carried out. The purpose of this paper is to observe and analyze a series of public relations strategic planning concepts from several pioneers, as Jhon Marston (1963), Cutlip, Center, Broom (2000), Ronald D.Smith (2002), Anne Gregory (2000). The writing method is a qualitative descriptive format. The result of observing is the concept development of strategic planning which was born based on the criticism and development of previous concepts. Making systematic strategic planning, needs to be done  by public relations practitioners to facilitate work operations. There are many more specific strategic planning aproaches, although there is no single approach, the essence of planning according to certain elements must exist. This paper is expected to enrich academics’ knowledge, especialy communication science students and public relations practitioners in making effective and comprehensive strategic planning based on scientific concepts and theory.

Abstract

Penelitian berjudul ‘Kajian Visual Film Animasi Ibra : Membelah Bulan’  dilatarbelakangi oleh film sebagai produk dari kemajuan teknologi informasi yang mempermudah berbagai aspek kehidupan baik sebagai media edukasi maupun hiburan. Di sisi lain dengan semakin beragamnya media memunculkan dampak tidak baik yaitu munculnya konten-konten negatif tanpa memuat subjek edukatif yang mempengaruhi perkembangan kognitif, afektif dan psikomotorik anak. Melalui penelitian film berjudul ‘Kajian Visual Film Animasi Ibra : Membelah Bulan’  dikembangkan oleh Manara Studio sebagai studi kasus dimana sebuah media hiburan dapat juga berperann sebagai media edukasi yang efektif. Film dianalisis dengan metode semiotika  dengan pendekatan kualitatif untuk melihat bahwa secara bahasa visual media tersebut dapat mengakomodasi kebutuhan belajar dan bermain anak-anak.The research titled ‘Kajian Visual Film Animasi Ibra : Membelah Bulan’  is motivated by cinema as a product of advances in information technology that facilitate various aspects of life both as a means of education and entertainment. On the other hand, the increasing variety of media has a negative impact, namely the emergence of negative content without educational topics that affects the cognitive, affective and psychomotor development of children. Through research, a film titled ‘Kajian Visual Film Animasi Ibra : Membelah Bulan’  was developed by Manara Studio as a case study where an entertainment medium can also act as an effective educational medium. The films are analyzed using the semiotic method with a qualitative approach to see that in terms of language, visual media can meet children's learning and playing needs.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze how Islamic discourse is constructed in the film Ayat-ayat Cinta (AAC) 2, analyze the political position of the filmmaker in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and analyze the hyperreality dimension in the film AAC 2 according to Jean Baudrillard's thoughts. Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis was used as a theoretical perspective as well as a method in this paper. This research approach was qualitative with data sources from film text as primary data, as well as journal articles, books, media articles, and film-related social media posts, as secondary data. The results of the analysis revealed that through the roles played by the characters Fahri, Hulya, Sabhina (Aisha), the filmmaker has constructed a moderate Islamic discourse that is so dominant throughout the film. Through several film scenes, the filmmaker also explicitly showed his political alignments with the Palestinian state and builds an image of anti-human values towards the Israeli army. The representation of the religious life of Islamic figures, as well as scenes about Palestinian women (supporters) and Israeli soldiers in this film were included in Jean Baudrillard's hyperreality

General Election (GE) often becomes a complex political arena filled with strategies to influence public opinion. In recent years, there has been an interesting trend where celebrities actively engage in politics and run as legislative candidates. This phenomenon creates a new dynamic in politics known as celebrity commodification, figures that easily capture public attention. Their popularity in the entertainment industry gives them the confidence to venture into the realm of elected representatives. Famous celebrities from the fields of entertainment, sports, and media are utilized by political parties to boost their popularity and garner support from the public or the electorate in the democratic process. The phenomenon of celebrities running as legislative candidates and joining political parties, in the perspective of commodification, is discussed in relation to three aspects: the character of the celebrities, party branding, and the public as political consumers

Abstract

Communication is an important part of today's industrial development. Especially with the disruption creating a new picture in managing human resources digitally. This research aims to describe how a leader's strategy internalizes digital management in his organizational communication. Data collection was carried out through descriptive analysis, with data collected through the process of literature study and participant observation. The result is that in developing a leadership communication strategy, literacy and ways of working that occur in the era of disruption are needed. The communication strategy is the use of mediums, setting organizational goals and policies, analyzing and solving problems, interactive communication, and giving proportional rewards and punishments.

Abstract

This article discussed the development of technology information which has incorporated the most things in life, Internet technology is one of them. The Internet is recognized not only as channel for one-to-one communication, but also as one-to-many communication. Other than that, because of Internet technology, one can broadcast anything for everyone to watch. Facebook is one of the platform which become most popular social media who can broadcast videos by using feature “Facebook Gaming” that will allow anyone to broadcast themselves while playing games. According to data showed in July 2019, Indonesia was the second largest country in watching live broadcast gamers online. Using qualitative approach and descriptive method, this article described about communication context carried out by these live gamers to their audience. Result showed live gamers not only doing mass communication, but also doing interpersonal communication context in which gave space between communicator and communicant that they are discussed things more than just about the games.
