This Journal publishes current original research on psychology sciences using an interdisciplinary perspective, especially within Organitational and Industrial Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, and Experimental Psychology Studies. PSIKOBORNEO : Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi published regularly quarterly in March, June, September, and December. The purpose of this journal is to disseminate ideas and results of research conducted by universities, particularly Psychology Studies, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Mulawarman University, which can be applied in society. PSIKOBORNEO : Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi contains a variety of activities carried out both internally by the Social Sciences Mulawarman University or from externally in handling and overcoming various problems that occur in society by applying science and technology which can then be beneficial to improve the welfare of the society.

Abstract

The lifestyle’s demand among college students raise their desire to do online purchase on product which not suitable with their needs. The aim of this research is to empirically ascertain the relationship between impulsive buying and self-esteem in students who shop online at University X Yogyakarta. The subjects in this study were 75 students from the Faculty of Psychology, University X Yogyakarta who were in the 2019 to 2022 class, ages 18 to 21 years, female gender, and had made online purchases in several e-commerce applications. Data collection was carried out using a self-esteem scale and an impulsive buying behavior scale. Data was analuysed by the product moment correlation technique. Based on the resultd of the correlation test, it was abtained that the correlation coefficient of self-esteem with impulsive buying behavior was -0.477 with sig. p = 0.000 (p<0.01). This research can be used as evaluation material for students to be more accepting of what they have and plan before making a purchase so as to reduce the level of impulsive buying behavior.Tuntutan gaya hidup di kalangan mahasiswa memunculkan keinginan mahasiswa melakukan pembelian online yang tidak sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memastikan secara empiris hubungan antara perilaku pembelian impulsif dan self-esteem pada mahasiswi yang berbelanja secara online di Universitas X di Yogyakarta. Subjek pada penelitian ini sebanyak 75 mahasiswa dari Fakultas Psikologi yang berada di angkatan 2019 hingga 2022, usia 18 hingga 21 tahun, jenis  kelamin perempuan, serta pernah melakukan pembelian online di beberapa aplikasi e-commerce. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan skala self esteem dan skala perilaku pembelian impulsif. Analisis data  menggunakan teknik korelasi product moment. Berdasarkan hasil uji korelasi diperoleh koefisien korelasi dari self esteem dengan perilaku pembelian impulsif sebesar -0,477 dengan sig. p = 0,000 (p<0,01). Penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan evaluasi bagi mahasiswa untuk dapat lebih menerima dirinya dengan apa yang telah dimiliki dan melakukan perencanaan sebelum melakukan pembelian sehingga dapat menurunkan tingkat perilaku pembelian impulsifnya.

Abstract

Obese female students are prone to experiencing psychological problems due to receiving body shaming from the environment, therefore obese female students carry out self-monitoring to avoid the psychological impact of body shaming. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-compassion and body shaming in obese female students in Makassar. The method used in this research is correlational quantitative method. The research subjects totaled 150 subjects with the subject of research criteria namely obese female students in Makassar City aged 18-25 years and experiencing body shaming. The outcomes revealed that the significance value was p = 0.000 (p <0.05) and the correlation coefficient r = -0.542 indicated that there was a negative relationship between self-compassion and body shaming in obese female students in Makassar, which means that the higher the self-compassion of obese female students, the lower the body shaming of obese female students. This research is likely to generate encouragement for obese female students to apply self-compassion to accept and love themselves.Mahasiswa perempuan obesitas rentan mengalami masalah psikologis akibat menerima tindakan body shaming dari lingkungan oleh karena itu mahasiswa obesitas melakukan pengawasan diri untuk menghindari dampak psikologis dari tindakan body shaming. Tujuan daripada penelitian ini yakni untuk mengetahui hubungan self-compassion dengan body shaming pada mahasiswa perempuan obesitas di kota Makassar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif korelasional. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 150 subjek dengan kriteria subjek penelitian yaitu mahasiswa perempuan obesitas di Kota Makassar berusia 18-25 tahun, dan mengalami body shaming. Hasil studi tersebut menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi adalah p = 0,000 (p kurang dari 0,05) dan koefisien korelasi adalah r = -0,542 membuktikan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang negatif antara tingkat self-compassion dan body shaming pada mahasiswi perempuan yang mengalami obesitas di Kota Makassar. Artinya, semakin besar tingkat self-compassion yang dimiliki oleh mahasiswi perempuan yang mengalami obesitas, semakin rendah pula tingkat body shaming yang dialami oleh mereka. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah agar mahasiswa perempuan obesitas dapat menerapkan self-compassion dalam menerima dan mencintai diri sendiri.

Abstract

Long-distance marriage in couples has problems that are quite risky considering the quantity of communication and gathering is reduced. This requires strengthening commitment so that long-distance marriages can run, and marriages survive. This commitment is thought to be influenced by the strong factor of trust in other partners. Therefore, this study aims to answer the assumption that trust is closely related to long-distance marriage commitment. This research method uses quantitative with purposive sampling techniques that have research subjects as many as 101 pairs. The measuring instruments used are the Commitment scale with a reliability of 0.860 and the Confidence scale with a reliability of 0.899. Both measuring instruments have good reliability and are analyzed using Pearson Product Moment. The results of this study showed that the higher the trust, the stronger the marriage commitment in couples who underwent long-distance marriages. This research shows the implication that long-distance couples should strengthen commitment by increasing trust, which includes the ability of the couple to predict the ability of each partner to assess the possibilities that occur long-distance activity, then the level of dependence means that the couple feels mutual need for each other, and confidence in the partner means that each partner trusts each other, supports each other Other.Pernikahan jarak jauh pada pasangan memiliki permasalahan yang cukup riskan mengingat secara kuantitas komunikasi dan berkumpul bersama menjadi berkurang. Hal ini dibutuhkan penguatan komitmen agar pernikahan jarak jauh dapat berjalan dan pernikahan tetap bertahan. Komitmen ini diduga dipengaruhi oleh faktor kuatnya kepercayaan terhadap pasangan lain. Oleh sebab itu penelitian ini bertujuan menjawab dugaan bahwa kepercayaan berhubungan erat dengan komitmen pernikahan jarak jauh. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan kuantitatif dengan Teknik sampling purposive sampling yang memiliki subjek penelitian sebanyak 101 pasangan. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah skala Komitmen dengan reliabilitas 0.860 dan skala Kepercayaan dengan reliabilitas 0.899, kedua alat ukur ini memiliki reliabilitas yang baik dan dianalisis menggunakan Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi kepercayaan maka komitmen pernikahan semakin kuat pada pasangan yang menjalani pernikahan jarak jauh. Penelitian ini menunjukkan implikasi bahwa pasangan jarak jauh harus menguatkan komitmen dengan meningkatkan kepercayaan yang meliputi kemampuan predikbilitas pasangan artinya kemampuan tiap pasangan untuk mengkaji kemungkinan-kemungkinan yang terjadi akhibat jarak jauh kemuadian tingkat ketergantungan artinya bahwa pasangan merasa saling membutuhkan antara yang satu dengan yang lainnya dan keyakinan terhadap pasangan artinya bahwa setiap pasangan saling percaya saling mendukung satu sama lainnya.

Abstract

Online dating become popular among people who are looking for a romantic relationship possibility. Tinder is one kind of application which originally developed as an online dating platform. As Tinder usage number raised year by year in Indonesia, we aimed to identify the general overview of motivations for using Tinder and examine the differences from certain demographic data. The study was conducted among Indonesian emerging adults who completed an online survey. All the participants have a Tinder account (n = 390). The result has shown that most user motives were related to social compensation, either having romantic partners or acquaintances. Most users are female to relieve boredom and fulfill curiosity motives while male respondents had motives to seek romantic partners. Around 59,50% of respondents not using other online dating apps with the duration of Tinder usage ranging from 15-60 minutes a day. This research shed light on Tinder user four motives categorization along with its demographic condition.

Abstract

Academic resilience is an individual's ability to increase academic success by being diligent, constantly reflecting, seeking appropriate help and having positive feelings in the midst of difficulties that occur. One of the factors that influences academic resilience is academic optimism, individuals must have clear goals and positive expectations for them when individuals want to have academic resilience. As a Bidikmisi/KIP College student, there are many challenges and demands that must be met to maintain a Bidikmisi/KIP scholarship until graduation. In all existing demands, a resilient attitude is needed so that students are strong in facing the demands of scholarships. One of the factors that influences academic resilience is optimism. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between optimism and academic resilience of Bidikmisi/KIP students studying at Satya Wacana Christian University. The research method used is quantitative with a correlational design. The sample was obtained using an incidental sampling technique of 105 Bidikmisi/KIP Kuliah students. The research instrument used the Academic Resilience Scale (ARS-30) (α = 0.7) and Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R) (α = 0.76). The analysis technique was carried out using Spearman rank correlation and obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.468. The results of the research show that there is a significant positive relationship between optimism and academic resilience in Bidikmisi/KIP students at Satya Wacana Christian University. Bidikmisi/KIP Kuliah students who have clear goals and strong confidence in their abilities are resilient in facing all existing demands and difficulties so that they are able to achieve academic success.Resiliensi akademik merupakan kemampuan individu untuk meningkatkan keberhasilan akademik dengan cara tekun, senantiasa berefleksi, mencari bantuan yang sesuai dan memiliki perasaan positif di tengah kesulitan yang menerpa. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi resiliensi akademik adalah optimisme akademik, inidividu harus memiliki tujuan yang jelas dan ekspektasi yang positf terjadi pada mereka ketika individu ingin memiliki resiliensi akademik, Sebagai mahasiswa bidikmisi/KIP Kuliah, banyak tantangan dan tuntutan yang wajib dipenuhi untuk mempertahankan beasiswa bidikmisi/KIP Kuliah sampai lulus. Dalam segala tuntutan yang ada, diperlukan sikap yang resilien agar mahasiswa tangguh dalam menghadapai tuntutan beasiswa. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi resiliensi akademik adalah optimism. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara optimisme dengan resiliensi akademik mahasiswa bidikmisi/KIP Kuliah Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Sampel diperoleh dengan teknik insidental sampling sebanyak 105 mahasiswa bidikmisi/KIP Kuliah. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan Academic Resilience Scale (ARS-30) (α = 0,7) dan Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R) (α = 0,76). Teknik analisis dilakukan dengan korelasi rank spearman dan diperoleh hasil koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,468. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara optimism dengan resiliensi akademik pada mahasiswa bidikmisi/KIP Kuliah Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana. Mahasiswa bidikmisi/KIP Kuliah yang memiliki tujuan yang jelas serta keyakinan yang kuat akan kemampuan dirinya, tangguh dalam menghadapi segala tuntutan dan kesulitan yang ada sehingga mampu mencapai kesuksesan akademik.

Abstract

This quantitative-correlational study aims to determine the relationship between Academic self-efficacy and Academic stres in final year students from NTT. In this study, researchers used purposive sampling techniques with a total of 102 final year students who were working on their thesis and came from NTT. The research instrument used an Academic self-efficacy scale and an Academic stres scale. This study used two scales, namely Academic self-efficacy, and Academic stres. The results showed a correlation of r = -0.468 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) which means there is a relationship between Academic self-efficacy and Academic stres in final year students who are working on their thesis and come from NTT. The higher the Academic self-efficacy, the lower the Academic stres. Conversely, the lower the Academic self-efficacy, the higher the Academic stres. The results of this study can be a reference for final year students who are working on their thesis and come from NTT to increase their Academic self-efficacy to minimize Academic stres in final year students from NTT who are working on their thesis.Penelitian kuantitatif - korelasional ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara Academic self-efficacy dengan stres akademik pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir asal NTT. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan total partisipan sebanyak 102 mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang sedang mengerjakan skripsi dan berasal dari NTT. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan skala Academic self-efficacy dan skala stres akademik. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua skala yaitu Academic self-efficacy dan stres akademik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya korelasi sebesar r = -0,468 dan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p<0,05) yang berarti ada hubungan Academic self-efficacy dengan stres akademik pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang sedang mengerjakan skripsi dan berasal dari NTT. Makin tinggi Academic self-efficacy maka semakin rendah stres akademik. Sebaliknya semakin rendah Academic self-efficacy maka semakin tinggi stres akademik. Hasil dari penelitian ini bisa menjadi acuan untuk para mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang sedang mengerjakan skripsi dan berasal dari NTT agar dapat meningkatkan Academic self-efficacynya sehingga dapat meminimalisir stres akademik pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir asal NTT yang sedang mengerjakan skripsi.
