Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of foreign ownership and audit quality on transfer pricing, as well as the role of company size as a moderation variable, in manufacturing companies in the primary consumer goods sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The research method is quantitative and causal, and data are collected from annual financial statements for the 2020–2024 period. The analysis techniques used are multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results show that foreign ownership and audit quality significantly affect transfer pricing. The moderation test showed that firm size significantly moderated the relationship between foreign ownership and audit quality in transfer pricing. This means that the influence of these two variables tends to be stronger in large-scale companies. These findings confirm the importance of oversight of ownership structures and audit quality, especially in large companies that have complex cross-border transactions.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between financial literacy and household wealth creation among employees in Ghana, focusing on how demographic factors such as age, education level, and gender moderate this relationship. Using primary data collected through a cross-sectional survey and analyzed through partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), the study tests two hypotheses related to financial literacy and its impact on household wealth. The findings indicate that financial literacy has a significant positive effect on household wealth creation, suggesting that an increase in financial literacy corresponds to an increase in household wealth. The study also finds that demographic factors, particularly age and education level, significantly moderate the relationship between financial literacy and household wealth. Gender, however, does not show a significant moderating effect. These results align with previous studies in developed economies, but offer new insights into the relevance of financial literacy in the context of a developing economy like Ghana. The study is underpinned by social exchange theory and contributes to the growing body of literature on financial literacy and wealth creation, with policy and practical implications for improving financial education and wealth management practices among employees in Ghana.

Abstract

Research Aims: This study aimed to identify effective pedagogical strategies to foster sustainable entrepreneurship among secondary school students in Botswana, thereby addressing high youth unemployment and environmental crises. Design/methodology/approach: A 12-week quasi-experimental mixed-methods study was conducted with 180 students from six secondary schools. Students were divided into three groups: experiential learning, problem-based learning (PBL), and traditional lecture-based teaching. Quantitative data was collected using pre- and post-intervention questionnaires to measure entrepreneurial intention, sustainability literacy, and innovation orientation. Qualitative data was gathered through classroom observations and focus groups to understand student perceptions. Research Findings: The findings revealed that both PBL and experiential learning significantly outperformed the lecture-based method (p<0.001). Experiential learning showed the most substantial gains across all measured competencies. Qualitative results supported this, as students in the active learning groups valued the real-world relevance and collaborative activities, while the lecture group felt the material was disconnected from practice. The study also found that female and urban learners responded more positively to active learning strategies. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This study provides strong evidence for the effectiveness of PBL and experiential learning in promoting sustainable entrepreneurship in a secondary school context. It highlights the need for curricular reform in Botswana to incorporate these active learning strategies and to address challenges such as teacher training and rigid assessment methods

Abstract

Education plays a strategic role in preparing students for the workforce, not only through academic learning but also through experiential and psychological development. Although internship experience, emotional intelligence, and self-efficacy have been widely studied as determinants of career readiness, previous findings remain inconsistent, particularly regarding the role of internship experience as a moderating variable. Some studies suggest that internships strengthen the relationship between psychological factors and career readiness, but further research is needed. A research gap was found, namely the lack of influence of self-efficacy on career readiness in students. Based on this, this study aims to examine the influence of emotional intelligence and self-efficacy on students' career readiness and analyze whether internship experience moderates this relationship. A quantitative approach was used using moderated regression analysis. The results indicate that emotional intelligence and self-efficacy have a significant positive influence on students' career readiness. Students with higher emotional intelligence demonstrate greater adaptability, decision-making skills, and readiness to face workplace challenges, while self-efficacy increases confidence in career planning and goal achievement. However, these findings also revealed that internship experience did not significantly moderate the relationship between emotional intelligence and self-efficacy on career readiness. These findings suggest that career readiness is more influenced by internal psychological factors, namely emotional intelligence and self-efficacy, than by internship experience. This study contributes to the literature by clarifying the inconsistent role of internship experience as a moderating variable and provides practical implications for universities emphasizing the development of students' emotional and psychological competencies in career preparation programs

Abstract

Teacher performance quality remains a strategic issue in elementary education, particularly in regions with large and diverse teacher populations such as West Java. This study examines the influence of transformational leadership, organizational culture, and teacher welfare on teacher performance quality, with work motivation as a mediating variable. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using a cross-sectional survey design. The respondents were public elementary school teachers in West Java Province, selected through proportionate stratified cluster random sampling across several regional clusters. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with AMOS. The findings indicate that teacher welfare plays the most important role in improving both work motivation and teacher performance quality. Work motivation also mediates the relationship between teacher welfare and teacher performance quality, showing that welfare improvement can strengthen teacher performance by enhancing motivation. In contrast, transformational leadership does not show a significant influence on either work motivation or teacher performance quality. Organizational culture has a negative effect on work motivation, suggesting that a demanding school culture without adequate support may reduce teachers’ intrinsic motivation. These findings highlight that improving teacher welfare, strengthening psychosocial recognition, ensuring workload fairness, and creating a supportive school culture are essential strategies for improving teacher performance quality. This study contributes to educational management literature by emphasizing teacher welfare and work motivation as central mechanisms in strengthening elementary school teacher performance

Abstract

Work motivation is an essential factor in supporting employee performance and the effectiveness of higher education institutions. However, employee motivation may decline when organizational justice, organizational support, and psychological attachment to work are not optimally managed. This study aims to analyze the effect of organizational justice and organizational support on work motivation, with work engagement as a mediating variable. This research employed a quantitative approach with descriptive and verification methods. The population consisted of 1,158 educational staff at the Indonesian University of Education, while the sample comprised 298 respondents determined using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error and selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using path analysis and the Sobel test. The results show that organizational justice and organizational support have a positive and significant effect on work motivation. Organizational justice and organizational support also have a positive and significant effect on work engagement. Furthermore, work engagement has a positive and significant effect on work motivation and significantly mediates the relationship between organizational justice and organizational support on work motivation. These findings indicate that fair organizational practices and institutional support can strengthen employee motivation, particularly when employees are psychologically engaged in their work. The study contributes to human resource management literature by emphasizing the mediating role of work engagement in explaining how organizational factors influence employee motivation in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the need to understand the communication models used by blind massage therapists in delivering their services, as communication plays a crucial role in shaping the customer experience. The research problem focuses on how these public speaking models are manifested and how they influence customer perceptions and satisfaction. A descriptive qualitative method was applied, involving direct observation at Rumah Bugar Sentra Wyata Guna and in-depth interviews with four blind massage therapists. The findings reveal four distinct public speaking communication models: Communicative-Relational, Silent-Reflective, Informative-Educative, and Humorous-Relaxed. Each model contributes differently to the customer experience, ranging from building trust, creating a calm atmosphere, providing additional knowledge, to fostering a cheerful and enjoyable environment. The study concludes that public speaking competence is not merely a complementary skill but a strategic added value that enhances customer satisfaction and strengthens the professional position of blind massage therapists within the health and relaxation service industry

Abstract

The phenomenon of rising turnover amid high performance achievement represents an anomaly that calls for psychological explanation. This study aims to examine the mediating role of employee engagement in the relationship between employee performance and workload on employee retention in a boarding school setting. The research population consisted of 228 employees at Sekolah Islam Nurul Fikri Boarding School Serang, with a sample of 146 respondents selected through proportional random sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that employee performance has a positive effect on employee engagement (β = 0.676, t = 11.781) but no direct effect on retention (β = 0.040, t = 0.363). Workload has no significant effect on employee engagement (β = -0.011, t = 0.123) yet exerts a negative effect on retention (β = -0.255, t = 3.994). Employee engagement fully mediates the influence of performance on retention (β = 0.445, t = 7.670), whereas its mediating role in the workload–retention link is not significant. These findings confirm that retention is not directly influenced by performance; rather, the effect is transmitted through employee engagement. In contrast, workload directly reduces retention without operating through the engagement mechanism. The integration of AMO theory, the JD-R model, and Social Exchange Theory successfully elucidates these dynamics, particularly within the high-demand context of boarding school education. The managerial implications underscore the need for employee engagement enhancement programs and structural workload management.
