Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of zakat managed by Baitul Maal Hidayatullah (BMH) in the economic empowerment of Pesantren Tahfidz Hidayatullah in Gresik. The pesantren’s need to financially support its students highlights the importance of developing economic self-reliance through productive business units. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach, where data were collected through interviews with BMH Prodaya staff and pesantren administrators, field observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive Miles and Huberman model, while data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings reveal that BMH’s productive zakat significantly contributes to strengthening the pesantren’s economy through support for its cooperative, livestock unit, aqiqah services, and the PPAS social program. The impact is reflected in increased pesantren income, reduced dependence on donations, and the creation of educational entrepreneurship experiences for students. These findings align with existing literature indicating that productive zakat can enhance institutional economic independence when managed sustainably. The discussion highlights that synergy among BMH, the pesantren, and the community is a key factor in the program’s success. However, the study has limitations related to the availability of detailed financial data and the short research duration. The study concludes that BMH’s productive zakat management has been effective in building the pesantren’s economic independence and should be further strengthened through capacity building, human resource training, and continuous monitoring

Abstract

Filtration membranes using natural zeolite and silica sand materials can be a promising alternative filtration technology for processing palm oil industrial wastewater. Palm oil wastewater is waste produced by the palm oil industry that contains high TSS content and will pollute the aquatic environment if not optimally treated. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of TSS removal in palm oil wastewater using zeolite-silica membranes. Membrane performance was evaluated through filtration tests using a cross-flow reactor for 100 minutes, with permeate samples taken every 20 minutes at a pressure of 5 bar. Membrane performance was assessed based on membrane flux values and TSS rejection rates. The results showed that the initial TSS characteristics of palm oil wastewater at a 100% concentration were 3,180 mg/L, while at a 50% concentration, they were 1,120 mg/L. The highest TSS removal efficiency was achieved at a 100% wastewater concentration, reached 92.1%

Abstract

This study aims to examine the interrelation between Javanese house architecture, local culture, and the social behavior of the community in Pereng Village, Mojogedang, Karanganyar. The focus lies in understanding how architectural forms reflect cultural values and how residents interpret and utilize spaces within and around their homes. Employing a qualitative approach through direct observation and in-depth interviews, the research utilized semi-structured interview guides as instruments, with data analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The findings reveal that although traditional architectural forms such as joglo and limasan are rarely found, cultural values are still preserved through spatial usage, social practices like communal work (gotong royong), and visual elements such as wayang figures on rooftops. Houses function not only as dwellings but also as social and cultural spaces that embody the collective identity of the Pereng community

Abstract

Life Insurance companies prepare the Company Work Plan and Budget (RKAP) every year. The 2025 RKAP has been prepared according to the 2024 achievement prognosis with the strategy referring to the company's long-term plan (RJPP) 2025-2029. The company's achievements in the previous year using forecast data are used as a reference in preparing the RKAP. External factors of the company in the form of macroeconomic and socio-political conditions are factors that are considered. Then internal factors of the company such as premium income, claims, underwriting profit and others are also other considerations in preparing the 2025 RKAP. This study uses a qualitative method to calculate the risk probability assessment and the impact of risk on the RKAP work program in order to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of risk management. In managing the risk of the Company's Work Plan and Budget, the company must ensure that all company targets are in line with the Company's strategy and objectives. The risk mitigation program focuses on improving skills and operational efficiency. Training and mentoring programs are designed to strengthen the ability of insurance agents in sales through routine training and direct assistance from top sales leaders. In addition, the development of SOPs for prospect classification and marketing applications with intuitive fact-finding features helps optimize the prospecting and sales process. In terms of collaboration, special incentive schemes and specific KPIs are implemented to drive the effectiveness of join sales, with periodic evaluations to ensure optimal results. The synchronization of tariff and benefit systems is also enhanced through flexible modules and cross-functional collaboration. The implementation of the gatekeeper concept is supported by incentives for first-level providers and the integration of the application system with BPJS Kesehatan to ensure real-time data synchronization

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the sentiment of Taobao application users on the Google Play Store using the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm. The methodology used includes the process of collecting data through web scraping from user reviews, then carrying out data preprocessing processes such as casefolding and tokenizing before being applied to the sentiment classification model. The results of the study indicate that the KNN algorithm is able to classify sentiment with an accuracy rate of around 62%, with most reviews being negative and the limited amount of data being a factor inhibiting model performance. These findings provide a basis for the development of better sentiment analysis models and can help application developers and e-commerce entrepreneurs understand user perceptions and improve the quality of their services. This study also suggests that more complex models and data sampling techniques can be used to obtain more accurate results in the future

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of operating cash flow and firm size on earnings persistence at PT. Plaza Indonesia Realty Tbk. The background of this research is based on the importance of earnings persistence as an indicator of long-term financial performance stability. The independent variables in this study are operating cash flow and firm size, while the dependent variable is earnings persistence. This research uses financial statement data from PT. Plaza Indonesia Realty Tbk for the period 2014-2023, applying multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that operating cash flow does not have a significant effect on earnings persistence. Meanwhile, firm size has a significant effect on earnings persistence. Simultaneously, operating cash flow and firm size have a significant effect on earnings persistence. The coefficient of determination is 59.2%, indicating that variations in earnings persistence can be explained by operating cash flow and firm size, while the remaining 40.8% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. These findings suggest that companies should also pay attention to other financial factors to enhance long-term earnings persistence.

Abstract

Public health is one of the indicators used to measure a country's level of welfare. In the 2020–2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), the government targets Universal Health Coverage (UHC) through health insurance programs. The utilization of health insurance can be influenced by various individual characteristics. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the utilization of health insurance during outpatient care in Bali Province, using data from the March 2023 Susenas survey. In this study, a multinomial logistic regression model was used, with the dependent variable categorized into not using, BPJS PBI, and BPJS non-PBI. The independent variables analyzed include age, gender, marital status, education level, employment status, regional typology, and outpatient visit frequency. The analysis results showed that the model's accuracy was 61.63%, with significant variables including age, marital status, education level, employment status, regional typology, and frequency of outpatient care. These findings indicate that individual characteristics play a significant role in determining the utilization and type of health insurance used.

Abstract

This research seeks to examine the impact of facilities., promotional strategies, and spatial layout on the competitiveness of agrotourism destinations. The research seeks to identify which factors play a dominant role in strengthening agrotourism competitiveness, both from the visitors’ perspective and the effectiveness of management practices. Employing a quantitative method through Partial Least Squares (PLS) analysis, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to visitors at the Dukuhwringin Sejahtera Agrotourism site in Tegal Regency. The findings reveal that the facilities variable has a positive and significant effect on agrotourism competitiveness, with a path coefficient of 0.222 and a significance value of (p = 0.036). This indicates that the better and more complete the facilities provided, the higher the level of comfort, attractiveness, and visitor satisfaction, which in turn enhances the destination’s competitiveness. Meanwhile, the promotional strategy (p = 0.214) and layout (p = 0.089) variables were found to have no significant effect on competitiveness. These results suggest that, although promotion and layout remain important, both have not yet been optimized to strengthen the competitive advantage of the agrotourism site.Overall, the study concludes that facilities are the dominant factor influencing the competitiveness of agrotourism destinations. Therefore, improving both physical and service-related facilities should be the main priority for agrotourism managers. Future studies are advised to incorporate additional variables like service quality, innovation, visitor satisfaction, and destination image to offer a more comprehensive insight into the factors influencing agrotourism competitiveness in Indonesia
